Quote from thisnameistaken :That would be awesome. Maybe give drivers like Vettel an opportunity to shine.

lol

didn't the last time it rain vettel had traction control and still ended up taking his team mate out?

I would hope that it rains only to be able to help the Honda or Button out

its the usb socket - i had this issue last year with it.

You can take the power out no worries and it does not reset - only when the usb connection is broke/loose.

check your connections

go to you local scrappy - find a GTR type car, and give the guy £20 to get out a seat for you.

Get the frame as well and then mount it on something suitable.

The last thing you really want is the seat to be mounted onto wheels.

to be honest I would just get a middle of the road office type chair for about £40-50 quid that is comfortable and that you can change the height and the amount it tips back etc.... then just take the wheels off of it ... thats what I've got and its more that adequate.

of course if you are looking at playing in your lounge isn't the biggest issue going to be to mount your steering wheel on something more solider than you lap?

Quote from darkinertia :is there anyway to make the DFP quieter becuase i love my DFP except for the fact the wheel is so loud! anyone know how to fix this?

Invest in a more epensive, better built (and quiter) G25

or

Turn up your speakers

I would not bother with opening up the wheel to try and scilence it - all you will do is invalidate your warrenty if or when it goes wrong due too too much LFS

Jak - what is the best thing to do? limit it with Vsync or cap the ingame frame rate?

sounds like an un-feasible suggestion for purely pickup racing.

If you don't like what people do at the end of the race, just spectate immediately, then you don't have to see what the others are doing...

I'm thinking that team will install under floor heating to their garages - or store there tyres in the sunniest part of the paddock - or maybe in a pile behind the car when the engines start

Now that is a decent effort

Top Job

Quote from Rdcranno :I don't know why somebody hasn't made a website for this yet something like an LFS Agency lol, would be good for people wanting to get into teams, and where teams can advertise.

Anyways, good luck with your search for drivers and i hope you do well in the IGTC

Good idea- why don't you do it and then it will also increase traffic to your website then everyone wins... unitl people ask for a section for teams of driftors and cruisers

Quote from pearcy_2k7 :Anyone got it? or the man himself? Just test drove it and liked it, beat my pb on the first lap, which had a few mistakes, i think i could reach into the 1.40's with this set, i seem to prefer his sets to any other for some reason, maybe we have the same wheel settings or something

Anyway much appreciated if you would Ray.

Thanks

um... Car would help

Quote from pacesetter :u 2 like to drive the FZR cos i know that Concept are a top knotch team, and tis is only a OneGP team NOT in any other events. I race with a team outside this already.

Thanks for the offer - but it is a very large - very long schedule and something that I can not commit too I'm afraid.

Good luck with your search thou

Quote from Dizzydarryn :Hi guys,

I was just wondering. how do you keep track of all your different set ups? i tried a couple diff sets last night from other racers. but even now im confused already as to which ones were for which tracks etc...

do u name setups starting with track code

yes

so for example..

if you were driving at Aston Club and I sent you a setup - It would make sense to call it AS2_dru

Then, if you messed with it then you would make a new file in the setup screen and call it AS2_dru_tweek and there you can play around with it and not losing the original setup

On the whole I would then adopt the system outlined above sayind

AS2_Q or AS2_R (for qualiy and race)

At the moment say I might have the following

AS2_moose
AS2_moose_HD (high downforce as I can not control the low downforce sent)
AS2_moose_tyres (where i have changed the settings because I'm easier on the tyres (also a lot slower btw :P)
AS2_moose_locked (diff sets)
AS2_moose_55_65 (alt diff sets)

Then when I'm happy I'll change it to

AS2_Dru

And from that make a Q set and a race set

At the end of it all I will then delete the sets i don't need to keep (so just keeping the original AS2_moose set and my Q and R sets.

If you are doing leagues or events where you use restriction etc, then the naming would also change.

For instance,

in my FZR sets I have GT1 and GT2 sets for CTRA

They will start GT1_ or GT2_ but of course you then get less words/characters to play with.

etc etc

Hope this helps/makes sense

Regards,

Dru.

interesting results

But can you see where the problem is going to be?

The balancing is al wrong for this track.

The 15 XF drivers are all between 1.11.85-1.12.50

You've you look at the UF times the top 10 are 1.12.17 - 1.13.43

in fact only 4 UF drivers are quicker than the slowest XF driver mentioned here.

The race will only compound the problem as the XF will be able to get each others draft much easier at AS2 and pull away - the UF's won't get any draft at all and certainly will not be able t pass I think...

Have you considered 'live' restrictions where the restrictions change per race track - I.E you have to add a bit more restriction and/or ballest to the XF cars - otherwise this will be one dominating round for the XF?

I know of course that there will be track which favour the UF - like the FE or maybe shorter SO tracks but are you looking to have an equal number of friendly tracks for each car - or are you trying to get EACH race a competative mix of UF and XF?

Cheers,

Quote from thisnameistaken :
I did join a league once, but I found declaring that time in any given week to be my own was impossibly difficult, either due to work or personal commitments. I made it work for three weeks but it wasn't long enough. That's one (practical) reason why I haven't joined a team.

I remember it well Kev.

I remember that you were keen for the league and even came on line with us ex-ZWR's doing some practice

It paid off, I think that you won the opening 2 races or something like that, then unfortunately you tended to appear 'just before the races' and your performance dropped and then after a few issues with work dropped out. It was sad that you dropped out - but I'm not sure that if you had been in a team it would have been any different... sure, the team could have supported you and helped you worked on setups etc (if of course you needed that) but ultimately at the end of the day the main factor was the driver and their available time.

I don't think that the end result would have changed (ultimately you would have pulled out of the league anyhow) becasue your desicion was due to factors outside of LFS that would have affected you whether you were in a team or not

Speaking of which......do ya kev

Cheers

Quote from SamH :Teams form like clans or book clubs.. common interests and shared personal goals etc.

Humans congeal into groups. Religious people converge on churches, and atheists converge on Youtube. There are exceptions, but most people, in some way, have a toe in something extracurricular.. they join a band, a cycling club, or just always sit with the same people at the same table in the same pub, time after time.

All of the aspects of fellowship that exist, and people pursue, in real life can exist in an LFS team in equal measure. Team servers, Teamspeak/Ventrilo, team forums.. these are all just net-based versions of real-life connectors, and no less valid for that.

Joining a team is normal. It's natural. If it feels right, go for it.

Thats a great response Sam
