just some basic info, ctra is one of the best ways to start driving , you will get some racing , close racing and wreckers experance.
but dont forget that very body can blame eatch other so this can also work against you, just drive safe and drive cool. and the you will get used to the racing.

Hmmmmm

I think my Team mate means - go drive on the CTRA servers, its a good place to start and with the reporting function the racing should be of a good standard. Wrecking and wreckers there are not tolerated and people can raise reports to get incidences reviewed by admins to improve the level of racing on the server. You gain points for racing and you can use these to access higher tier servers that have different types of races available.

Grab a chair, get a coffee and your favourite cushion. This is going to be one long stay..... you are going to love it

Quote from Lateralus :Dragging this back on topic...

The amount of time it would take to get to Platinum is absurd. Most of the people who have very advanced licenses only got them under the old system whereby points were very easy to acquire. Currently Platinum means shit as far as driving ability, which is a flaw in the CTRA system itself - advanced licenses should be indicative of driving skill, not luck. Currently they just show who exploited the old system in a timely manner.

I'm sorry but that statement is not entirely true. People STILL had to earn their points - just as they do know - the only difference is that nowadays there is the reporting function.

Yes - you could argue that some Platinum drivers are not what you might expect - but they have earned their places just as rightly as anyone else.

Regarding Moose - he got platinum under the old system came through the ranks of the TBO server when it did mean something to have the silver/gold etc etc.

If memory serves me right i used to idolise him and his sped in a BTSS livery Vauxhall FXO (don't tell him i stil idolise him) it's hard enuff to get his head in a helmet with the antlers already - never mind if he gets a bigger head with all these compliments i give him

Quote from R3DMAN :with this set i set the AI going on PRO with no restrictions as to get the same laptimes (1:11x) and by the end of the 21 laps the fronts were STONE COLD..

i dont see it as a problem really, just put the weight over the front end, it should help.

but at the moment the regs are saying either 37% or maybe 100%.

TBH there is way too much setup changes at the moment/ I personally think that pressures and weight should be open to the driver rather than set

Its very heavy on hear tyres and the fronts just never get temperature so u can play aaround a bit there!

Those sets already have the minimum tyre pressures on the front.. tbh it will be almost impossible to heat them up problem with the set being stuck to this setting

Sure you can mess with a few other things - but over a 21 lap race at BL1 then surely by the end the fronts will be stone cold?

Quote from Dizzydarryn :thats quite a neat set. quite a bit easier to drive than the other i tried. first time out and i got into the 12's quite comfortably.

Its very heavy on hear tyres and the fronts just never get temperature so u can play aaround a bit there!

also, i play auto clutch with DFP, i start burning the clutch out about 6-7 laps in? any ideas?

lift off then change then put the gas back on... nice and simple.

If its caused by anything else, then it's down to you going too low in the gear rev range mid corner and its burning as its trying to pull up out of it

When you say the lead do you mean the lead-er? , or do you mean that it's no longer run by CR? I'm cofuzzled :P

owwwwwwwww the intrigue

well, like mentioned in the UF1 thread, MY availability is somewhat limited and unable to be able to run a league. The same goes for the Baby-R, however I have been approached by another interested 'party' about running the show.

Until such times as it's confirmed I would not like to say who or what will be running it.

The series will still be organised under the umbrella of the UF Racers Club and maybe I will be a part time admin, but someone else will become topdog/man/person thingywingy

Just a quick heads up.

Season 2 of Baby-R will still be going ahead. The lead will be switching to another organiser, but hopefully the Admin team will remain the same.

So I guess..... watch this space

question.

Yuo have start times as either 7 or 8 GMT

At the moment UK is running +1, with most of Europe +2 or far Europe +3

Your going to be running this on a 'school night'

1 hour for qualifying and then 2 races of probably 30 minutes each right?

Some people are going to be up late i think
Dru

another point..

how are you going to scrutineer the wing levels and tyre pressures?

Afterall you say that people can submit setups after qualifying.

I could say for instance go out with low pressure front tyres and then do my hotlap then come into the pits before the end and change tyre pressures on next set to the legal limit.

Same goes for rear downforce (or front for that matter)

How will this be scrutineered??

Quote from Leprekaun :For reference to which values to use , check the setup restrictions topic here. I've stated two fixed suspension settings.

your setups are not consistant with the rules you have set

Think you need to go proof check them m8

for instance in your normal set the added mass is at 25%

your rules say this must be a minimum of 37%

errors like this will come back at bite you. also the way you have explained it is poor. I would seperate out ALL the fixed criteria in one section. Then the 'minimum settings' in a onther, then finally 'free' section, that way it is clear as black and white and not open to 'interpretation'

Hope you see the constructive parts of this post

Regards,

Dru.

you just need a stable setup and/or a driver that understands it.

One of the big things I have realised with enduro racing is people who think you can take a HL setup and just change the tyres - it doesn't work.

Also you have to see the car as a living being (with its tyres)

You can not go 100% immediately on a car on cold tyres - or judge the setpu based on a few installation laps when the tyres are too cold.

A set will find you maybe a second or two but no more on most layouts.

Quote from Bean0 :Gold used to get you the XRT, and access to it's huge points multiplier IIRC.

i remember they changed it to the FXO as everyone was getting this car on Race 2 and beating each other hands down (altohugh it did not get the multiplier that the XRT and RB4 got) but since all that is now gone (TBO class balancing etc) there are no longer multipliers working on CTRA points system.
