As far as I can work out, 250bhp is an ideal figure for an MX-5 unless you're on track more than on the road.
I drove the superfast one a few years ago on a pot-holed airfield but because it was dark and his headlights don't point sideways, I couldn't really do a lot with it.
I briefly drove it on the road and despite being gentle with it, it spun the wheels in 4th gear, which totally caught me by surprise. I found out later that he was still experimenting and at that time was running some outrageous boost - it blew up a couple of weeks later!
It's definitely achievable - a mate of mine is around there now, although his 1.8 is more like a 2 litre nowadays. Last dyno was 335bhp and he's done more stuff since. It's far too quick for public roads - especially since he's still on 195 width tyres - but he just can't stop tinkering
Brundle was exceptional in Brazil, and really demonstrated what a brilliant commentator he is. Watching the highlights again last night, he mentioned several times that if Hamilton didn't get a move on, then Glock and Vettel are going to cause him trouble later on.
He also spotted Glock at the crucial moment when half the audience had their head in their hands saying "oh no, not again"
Intrepid, if you think that your impatient ranting will dissuade people from purchasing iracing, you are completely wrong. I don't have iracing but I'm considering it. The way you have expressed your complaints has told me far more about you than the product.
Yeah we did it for a bit of a laugh and it is very difficult. A 4WD car is actually far better at it than a RWD car, as it's far more stable. You don't need expensive drift tyres - we just found some plastic piping and wedged it over the wheels and that did the job
To be honest, it gets pretty boring after a few goes.
There are adults on this forum? You sure?:jawdrop:
As I said after Spa, regardless of whether or not you believed Hamilton did or did not gain an advantage, the punishment was a disaster for F1. And sadly, it seems I was right.
This is ridiculous now; penalties been thrown around with no consistency, logic, or apparent regard for the fans or the sport.
This is F1, not synchronised swimming. Results should not be decided by opinions and judgement, they should be decided by the cold, hard facts of who crosses the line first.
Hey danowat, if you want to see a Redback Spider then just look under piles of wood, like park benches. They like to hang out in places like that.
A good way to find spiders at night is to get a decent torch and hold it up at your eye level. You'll see the eyes of spiders reflect back at you. Unless you don't like spiders, in which case it can be disturbing to see how many there are around you.
The netKar Pro engine has definitely been employed by one of the F1 teams in some form, which isn't that surprising. It is a step above the competition really.
Concensus was that it was Williams because of the BRD connection, but that's just been ruled out, so I guess Toyota would be the best bet given the Singtel thing had a Toyota in it and Kunos has Japanese connections. You'd think they could afford to develop their own in-house really, but there we go. Or maybe they did and hired Kunos for it.
Whatever happens, that seems to be the reason nkPro fizzled out so quickly.
