Quote from dawesdust_12 :I don't believe it's a chore, I just feel that it would be out of place in the game. Do you want realistic jury/trials too? Realistic gun physics? What about the inability to restart cases if you die? Game over at that point?

It's a game. Certain parts are meant to be culled back form being total realism in the nature of fun. Else we'd be having a lot of fun spending several years of real time trying the first case, along with needing to restart the game after we get killed in action.

Now you're taking things out of proportion to what I'm saying, if you're so against realism perhaps the game could do without integration too? hey maybe no driving at all, actually let's all just play 1972's famous game Pong instead.

You like simple easy driving then that's good for you, tell me more about your mustang on Juiced 2.

As I've previously stated the game could do well if it provided some more realistic driving experience other than holding what appears to be a sculptured brick that accelerates to it's top speed of 60mph in 4 seconds at full throttle for 5mins while you take a nap.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :No, you're saying that the driving is a chore. However the driving physics are quite the opposite. They are extremely simple and easy, meant to be not as important to the overall experience.

If the driving was a chore, you'd be expected to shift, clutch, steer with perfectly realistic physics, because that would require a lot to do. That would be the case if the driving was a chore.

The driving in the game is the exact opposite of a chore. You have a large amount of grip, you have gas, brake and handbrake. The driving is really easy to do well.

Why are you on a driving simulator forum if you believe that realistic driving is a chore?

How is my logic backwards, is taking out the garbage a intricate mental exercise for you or is it a simple task?
if anything you clarified what I'm saying in your reply.
Quote from dawesdust_12 :... The driving in the game is very simple physics that require very little thinkng about what happens

I'm not sure about you, personally I like to think in all aspects of a game.

Your reply also brings up a new valid point to which if the game is so interested in making you think about interrogating people then it's silly to send you brain dead for a few minuets while you "drive" to your next destination.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :This is where you're mistaken. Rockstar is only the publisher of the game. Team Bondi is the actual Developer. People keep saying things like this was a rockstar game. No doubt rockstar had a lot of input, but it's not their baby. The engine that was used isn't even the engine from GTA4 either.

I think the physics decision works for the game that it's in.

Yes I know the engine isn't the GTA IV engine, that is why I am disappointed. I'm not saying the game is crap, I just think that it could use some better driving physics, I don't like when in game driving feels more like a chore than an experience.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :I think the physics work for the kind of game that it is. The action sequences all are really super easy, as it's meant to put pressure on the interrogation and case solving aspects of the game.

I think it's silly that rockstar would go from semi-realistic cars in GTA IV, then go back in time to the 40's where a 3ton Buick handles like an F1 car.

Mafia II is based around the same era and the physics in that really do make the game much more entertaining to go from point A to point B, if L.A noire don't care much for driving physics than it's stupid of them to scatter hidden cars throughout the city.

I mean put it this way, Rockstar has already developed the euphoria physics engine, they used it in Red dead redemption, I don't see why they couldn't use it in L.A noire.

Bought it 2 days ago, put about 8 hours into it so far, the driving physics are terrible I was hoping for some GTA IV physics at least but it feels more like vice city.

Good game though, gets you immersed into solving cases.

Quote from E.Reiljans :Yeah, they do determine power of speaker tho</captain obvious mode>

Have you tried extremes (in case you don't notice it on minor volume decreasing).. such as 1% in Windows and 90% on amp? If you still can't notice it, well.. no idea why I do.

I often leave the master volume on the amp the same and while watching movies/tv shows or listening to music I regulate between 25% volume to 400% volume through VLC media player. 100% seems optimum for low quality audio as above that sounds distorted and in order to listen at high DB, I must turn down VLC and increase the amp master volume.
That is an example of software DB boosting.

If using itunes, 100% volume is not DB boosted and does not sound distorted, nor does lowering the volume through iTunes software.

Back on topic to the thread title.

I've made a second copy of LFS which is set to low volume to save changing multiple levels every time I want to turn it down when I'm on teamspeak of skype, I should not need to have a second copy on my computer for the only reason of lower volume, a master volume control in LFS Software is not an over complicated request, it's beneficial for users like me and people who do not require it are not forced to use it.

problem?

Quote from E.Reiljans :Actually it's the other way around - with weak <10W speakers you won't notice it, with 100W+ stereo / 500W+ 5.1 set you will.

That's funny, I have a 5.1 1200 watt system, and lowering volume with software does not lower the sound quality, DB boosting with software however upsets the bass and treble precision.

Edit: Watts does not determine the quality of a speaker.

Quote from Breizh :I don't know about LFS, but lowering volume in music players makes the equalizer's low end more manageable. Cleaner bass.

That is true, boosting DB through software lowers the quality but lowering it does not.

It may if you have low quality speakers with a lot of white noise.

If you were expecting some detailed response from me I regret to inform you that I can't be bothered reading all of what you said as you have been deemed not worth my time.

It's cute that you think I was stalking you though and your lack of time perception is rather amusing.

Quote from GreggTheGG :Does, 'played for 1month.' 'Not experienced driver' 'don't care about your opinion', and '**** off' make sense to you?

This guy is stalking me and in general being pretty pathetic..I would rather you all maintain terrible lap times and play for fun like me than be some stuck up pathetic 40 year old getting thrills out of bullying on a forum..get a life.

LOL... are you serious?

In less than 24 hours you have gone from claiming to be so fast that other servers ban you from sheer jealousy of your epic skills to now claiming that you're a slow inexperienced noob.

Edit:
What's wrong with some one being 40 anyway?

This is a realistic racing sim which of course will attract a mature crowed, perhaps you should try NFS.

Quote from GreggTheGG :Thanks for all the answers guys! I will ignore the criticism as I am new here and honestly don't care for anyone who enjoys raging at someone or just being a dick in general ^_^ Once again thanks. You answered most my questions and more

Seems like the only dick here is you.

According to your LFS stats you are indeed quite the noob, so think before you go flaming everyone else for being slow as you were most likely too arrogant to read the initial rules or ask the question why your car is so much faster.

By the way, I went to WKD, to watch you drive around.. I can tell you right now, you're not fast.

Quote from UnknownMaster21 :lol, how about that interface volume? or is that meaning only interface, and not whole game?

Anyway, Have you got speakers which has it's own master volume? Isn't that would be solve the problem? Or if you have Windows there is sound settings use that.

I might sound bit harsh but I don't really see the point why we need really a master volume?

EDIT: oops, so you want to decrease in all by one? Then I might put +0,5 but for me, pretty useless

But, if making command like Shift+N+Down Arrow or Shift+N+UpArrow and twice Shift+N will put sound on/off

Yes all by one, I have speakers and amp which has a master volume control, however I am using windows XP and do not have a volume mixer on the task bar, the reason I ask for master volume is that some times I use the mic for team speak ect, I cannot hear people speak over the sound of the game.

I don't want to disable sound all together.

Close to all other games have a master volume control, although you may deem is pointless, others don't. I don't see any benefit in not having apposed to having one.

Can it be added to the audio controls, it's great having all the individual adjustments but some times I just want to lower the volume of everything without having the remember the exact previous settings.

Hello, I am in a vaginal reconstruction fund-raiser, as it has touched me and my friends very closely; One of my classmates was diagnosed with in-operable vaginal reconstruction, through his whole body. As a method of support for both him, and the millions of other people influenced in some way by vaginal reconstruction, me and a few friends have created a team with the program 'Relay for life.'

I am going basically everywhere for support and i figured here would be a pretty wide-spread place to ask.
So the fund-raiser is through school, and i get no personal benefit from it, but being the dedicated person i am, i set my goal higher then the recommended. It recommended $100 as a goal; I put my goal at $250.

so i would really appreciate it if you helped my team out and donated. it is a small team so far, but my other friends have not joined yet.

link below, and in my signature.

thank you, Chris

There was a time in my teens 16-18 when I would be drunk partying every weekend. I still get drunk with mates on occasion but no fights ever happen only good times and a bad hang over.

I don't mind the occasional beer here and there just at home, it's relaxing.

I don't particularly like that Alcohol is considered socially acceptable as it's quite a dangerous drug (but it can be taxed so government gives it the a'okay)

Like anything though it's fine in moderation.
