You might make a statement about having issues when you're not to try and persuade the other teams to lay off trying to improve their cars but...
a)I don't believe any team would go as far as getting their no.1 driver to stack it to prove the point. Simple fact, Hamilton crashed more than once which proves he went past the capabilities of the car, (at least on those two occasions). So we have to conclude he must have been pushing, (relative to what the car can do), no matter how it may look to the outside observer.
b) I don't believe any team has sophisticated enough simulation software to not have to actually bother trying to find out how the car performs in the real world. At the very least I don't believe engineers and the team would put their faith 100% in such technology at the posibility of it costing them the championship. So why deliberately waste testing time by cruising and not trying to find the true envelope? I don't believe any team would ever do that. So we have to conclude they're not and they're just not able to push the car.
c) Why would Hamilton be showing signs of frustration, (taking loads of curb etc), at having slow times if he knew in reality that they were sandbagging. Or is that a double bluff? Well given a) & b) and taking in to consideration Hamiltons own temperament, (which I don't believe he has any capability to change), I don't think he's doing it to bluff, he is genuinely frustrated.
Seriously though, kind of makes me chuckle to myself when I see people post like this. 183lbs at 6ft is kind of to be honest. But that's speaking as someone that used to be really skinny when I was young.
I seriously hope you asked her permission to post that second one.
I have to say, I find the lack of respect for what I would expect to be someone you people care for quite astounding on this thread. Imagine how you'd like your partner or ex posting your picture on some girly forum for everyone to letch, (you can stop imagining hot babes now and get back to the reality of ugly people - maybe even men - perving over your picture).
On an even more serious note. Have any of you stopped for even one second to think that you have absolutely no idea what kind of person is looking at your "girlfriends" picture??? I've only looked through the first few pictures and I've already found one girl that is clearly a minor.
Finally, they're your girlfriends. That doesn't mean you own them. They're not your property to be paraded around in public and shown off like some bling car. Have some damn respect.
Even so, you could show at least the minimum of human compassion maybe??
I'm certainly no fan, and I'd be a hypocrite to claim to be "upset" by her impending death, but that's not to say I think she deserves to die, (which is what your posts could be seen to be implying).
Having said that, I do agree that she is getting far too much media attention and that it should have all stopped at a simple announcement of her illness in the paper, (doesn't justify prime time news coverage IMO).
Hmm well, we'll just have to agree to differ as far as the looks are concerned. I still think it's a dead ringer for the Fiat. Same overall body shape and stance on the road from most angles IMO but no matter.
I've no doubt the Fiesta is a better car, especially to drive. Fords have come a long way since the horrors of the (late) Escort period. They actually have civilised engines in them now. Every one I've driven in the last 10 years, (3 incarnations of Fiesta and a Focus), has been "nice" to drive. Though the Focus feels far too much like an MPV inside for my tastes.
B*llox Got nothing against Eurosport, except that I don't have (and have no intention of getting) Sky and I'm not prepared to pay the premium that Virgin want just to get one extra channel that I want out of all the other rubbish they'll include for the money. To be honest though, I've got lazy when it comes to motorsports. If it's not on a primtime channel at a convenient time, I never bother watching it. I'd rather watch the Rugby
Ok I must be missing something here.. I haven't quoted anything except links. At least that's what's showing up in my browser. No pictures, just links. So what on earth are you seeing???
Due to the current financial situation caused by the slowdown in the
economy, management has decided to implement a scheme to put workers of 40 years of age and above on early retirement. This scheme will be known as R A P E (Retire Aged People Early).
Persons selected to be R A P E D can apply to management to be
considered for the S H A F T scheme (Special Help After Forced
Termination). Persons who have been R A P E D and S H A F T E D will
be reviewed under the S C R E W programme (Scheme Covering
Retired-Early Workers). A person may be R A P E D once, S H A F T E D
twice and S C R E W E D as many times as management deem appropriate.
Persons who have been R A P E D could get A I D S (Additional Income
for Dependants & Spouse) or H E R P E S (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early Severance).
Obviously persons who have A I D S or H E R P E S will not be S H A F T E D or S C R E W E D any further by management.
Persons who are not R A P E D and are staying on will receive as much
S H I T (Special High Intensity Training) as possible. Management has
always prided itself on the amount of S H I T it gives employees.
Should you feel that you do not receive enough S H I T, please bring
this to the attention of your Supervisor, who has been trained to give
you all the S H I T you can handle.
Well no surprise there, it is after all an MS product. Having never really used Opera I wouldn't know. I've never really got on with Opera to be honest, not sure why. I've just never liked it's feel.
Hmmm.. I think it's a step in the wrong direction for Alfa personally. Alfa's have always had a classic italian flair look to them, this looks like pretty much any other boy racer clone IMO, with the exception of the front grill etc it could very easily be an Audi or Ford.
I think the Brera is a much better looking car. What they should have done was produced a smaller clone of that car.
There is a difference between passive observation of violence and active engagement in recreated violence. One causes a lot more "buz" than the other, and therein potentially is the problem.
I'm not for one moment blaming all violent acts on violent video games, that would be patently stupid. However I do believe there is a link with regard to raising the level of what is considered normal or acceptable acts of agression in peoples mind and within society as a whole when we don't have tight control on what we present to different sectors of society as entertainment in all it's formats. Violence becomes pervasive, it causes a mind shift in general and it is this that I believe violence in video games makes a negative contribution.
It is irrefutable that our societies kids are getting more violent with each passing generation. The reasons are obviously many and complex, but that doesn't mean we should just accept some of the potential contributors to the issue as meaningless and invalid. Using the argument, "you're just and old person complaining about what the younger generation does" is irrelevant and weak, and contributes nothing to the discussion.
Bad parenting?? have you even considered the possibility that the issue isn't an increasing amount of bad parents but an increasing amount of uncontrollable kids?? I'm not saying bad parenting doesn't play a part, but it too is also a very "easy target".
Anyway, we've pulled this thread far enough off topic. Let's get back on track.....
Not really, as I stated I never really liked FPS games. I've never had more than a demo of either the original Quake or UT installed on my pc at any time, and that's going back years (decade nearly?). Must have played them for all of 10 minutes before I just lost interest, and I've never bothered even downloading a demo of any version of the genre since.
Have you looked at my profile by any chance? Notice my age?? Even when I did play those games I was well and truely an adult. My point in the other thread was about the worrying possible affect of violent games on young minds, (ie under 16-18's), which are pretty much the target audience for these games. Computer games never existed when I was that old, let alone ones with extremely graphic acts of violence in them. They say it has no effect, but such games are relatively new and I don't know if anyone else has noticed the growing trend of kids killing each other on our streets or am I the only one?? Something is affecting their behaviour in a negative way, and IMO such games don't help.
Is apple still insisting on giving it that horrible dated brushed grey look? god I hate that !!
Anyway, I'm trying out IE8 RC1 at the moment and I have to say after the shambles that the Beta was (lasted about 5 mins on my pc before i uninstalled it) I'm quite liking it. In fact I'm loving the accelerator feature, (highlight text on a page and it gives you a quick link to things like dictionary lookups, maps etc without having to cut and paste). First really new browser feature to be of any use since Tabs came along.
Do any of them?? I haven't payed FPS any interest since Quake or UT. From what I've seen all that's really happened in this game genre is the graphics have got better. But maybe it's because I don't find any real fun in just going around shooting things, no matter what the environment or weaponry. Give me puzzles to solve any day, far more interesting.
Actually I'll have you know I'd be in a far better mood if I WAS being whipped !!
My only point was, why use what is evidently a lot of talent to recreate a violent game?? To me it show's an unhealthy (obsession?) with wanting to blow peoples heads off.
As for the point about cops and robbers. Well if you can't see the difference between a 9 year old going "bang bang your dead" when they have absolutely no concept of what death is and a teenager enacting a graphic recreation of an execution then I've pretty much proved my point about desensitisation.
How do you feel when you the forth video on this page?
It's known as a genetic memory (or meme I believe). It's a purely instinctive reaction to the genes that have been passed on to it by the whole process of evolution. A classic example being: Some birds learn to migrate in summer as those that did were more likely to survive and pass on their genes so this instinctive reaction is passed on to the next generation.
Define mental torture. I was very careful to use the term "pure mental torture", by which I mean no changes in physical environment. To the best of my knowlege any life form incapable of self awareness can not possibly suffer from pure mental torture. It can only react to a restriction in it's instinctive behaviour. Which is exactly what animals do suffer when caged for example. Despite not being harmed in any other way, they suffer from mental anguish due to the simple fact that their instinct is telling them to behave a certain way and their environment is restricting them from being able to do so.
For example: Put a bear in a cage and it will become "unhappy" if the cage is small and it can't wander around and act in other instintive ways. However, make the cage big enough and fill it with trees and various other things and the bear will be perfectly "happy" there and not show any of the symptoms of mental anguish, (breeding is a very good indicator of an animals sense of "well being"). This is a fact, despite the fact that the cage may well actually be incredibly small in comparison with the natural "territory" such a bear may well have in the wild. BUT, put a human being in a cage and no matter how you dress it up and add things to keep the human "happy" they will always know they are imprisoned and so will suffer mental anguish, (and that's despite the fact that as animals our territories would be far smaller in the wild than that of a bear). This is a critical difference between humans and animals such as bears, and it is down to one thing and that is the sense of self consciousness.
ehh?? By definition it is suffering that makes it pain !. If there were no suffering it would be just another sense.
Actually I provided perfectly adequate evidence of what I stated.
Yes, that's your problem. The subwoofer has a built in amplifier, the output of your amplifier in to the subwoofer is going to be at around 500mv, the sub then amplifies this signal and outputs it to the speakers, likely at around several volts (whatever the power rails of the amp are - depends on the design). Now your guitar amp is only built to accept inputs from guitar pickups, which at most are around the same level as the output of your other amplifier. So what is happening is that you're overloading the input of your guitar amplifier, this is what's causing the distortion noise your getting from it. You need to use a normal speaker instead of the guitar amp on the end of those wires.
It was an initial reaction to the feel of the brakes and grip characteristics. It's been a long time since I drove any ISI games to be honest I wouldn't put too much emphasis on my comment.
