hm I rewatched the replay and i cant see the "5 mph". At any time he does the clutch thing his car was still accelerating. It would be interesting to compare normal acceleration with this clutch thing. But I guess he would reach the same speed with normal acceleration.
But when this is realy a bug, i think its more relatet to the flywheel modeling. You cant charge your flywheel with energy without losing the same amount through resistance forces, otherwise the car doesnt reached top speed at this point, because If you have a constant velocity the engine produces exact the power which is needed to compensate acting forces.

Are you sure he gets more highspeed ? I doubt that! I think this is an useless action.

I think the maths are all the same. You get a inhomogene differential equation of second order you have to integrate.
The problem are the high frequenzies you get and therefore you need short time steps.

Edit: I think that is the main reason we dont have chasiflex yet

I think this replay is a wonderful example how great the physik engine works (of course except the crash). After the crash the cars has a very high angular momentum and you can see how the car finds a stable axis by minimizing the torque of inertia. (first it rotats around the z axis then around the x axis). Nutation! Then it acts like a gyroscope. Precession! You can see the angular momentum preservation.

I think it depends on your system whether it affects your fps or not.
Normaly it doesnt matter

Quote from RaceDoctor :... There's nothing different than the demo servers There are only more cars, tracks and a bit faster drivers everything else is the same.

...

That is simply NOT TRUE !!!

Well, its not a full rectangle. Only the corners are shown.

You must stop in one of the yellow rectangles. Then you get repaired, except you have a drive through penalty (or stop and go). You have to do your penalty first, next round you can pit

I just got a LFS S2 hardcopy(?, dont know the word: LFS CD) from the postman. All with a nice and extensively manual.
Does anyone else got the same too ?

hm.. I dont understand that. Do you only one race and then left the server ? Normaly I do more races on one track. Whats the problem with doing first race with safe fuel settings and then look what the consumption is. First race is for getting warm, who cares about 10-15%.

Do you have some mods installed ?
Maybe there lies the problem

Isnt the hole wrecker problem , caused by to many people play the demo instead of buying a S2 license ?

Quote from Shotglass :doubtful because of serveral reasons
a) most improtantly even if that is the case the sidewalls still strech a lot ... too much if you ask me ... even considering they might be bent normally and straighten out when they strech
b) it wouldnt fit into the general style of lfs being a wysiwyg or rather a wygiwys (what you get is what you see) game with a very close realtion between graphics and physcis
c) the performenace impact of having more sampling spots on the sidewall would be a lot higher than the impact of drawing the appropriate polygons

Yes, right.

Just wanted to point out, that the visualisation has other restrictions to

Quote from Shotglass :we had the discussion before in your thread about the tyres deforming too much ... most there agreed with me that it seems like the sidewalls strech instead of just bending ... which is wrong

Maybe there is a difference between the visible tyredeformation and the deformation actually calculatet by the engine. To display real bend you need a lot of polygons, and I guess the tyre has in radial direction only two or three intersections. Could be that the bending looks like strecht, caused by lack of polygons

the wheels in LFS cars turn max 720°, I think.

I have a logi pro but I diot use the 900°. I adjust the wheel to the angle of that car which I'm driving

I'm glad to spend money in a product that is still in development, aslong it works fine without any significant bugs. LFS is definitely such a product.
LFS does his job, it's a online race sim. POINT.

But LFS is more, to. I like the fact, that if I now stop playing and come back after a longer periode, the game has changed. It has developed, it has new content, it is better than before. All without bying a new product. I often stop playing games, cause they normaly get boring after a while. But LFS gives me the option to observe it, thats excitingly and not as boring as other games.

Look at LSFW (http://www.lfsworld.net) Under S2 hotlaps you will find the actual WR's. There you can download the replays to (klick on the time).

Yes, and if we have the graph we could calculate the absolute fastest possible laptime.
There must be convergence ! =)
