In LFS you don't necessarily have to know in detail everything about setups. There exist plenty of good setups one can test or modify. If you're in a team, there's usually one or two members, who know a lot about creating setups.

So one can take it quite easy in the beginning and just focus on driving properly with existing setups. After a few weeks of racing it happens automatically that one gets a basic understanding of how different settings influence driving.

And, last but not least, there exist some really good setup guides in the web.Thumbs up

Well, ORION might have misunterstood you, Gunn.

I think you want a program, which manages replays AND stats (from LFS-World) all-in-one with a user-friendly gui, right?

I guess, ORION was thinking you want to access your replays from the LFS-World website or something like that.

Correct me, if I'm wrong, guys.
File Manager for Replays

Hi all!

I hope this hasn't been suggested before (I searched, but found nothing).

I really would like to have a little file manager in LFS for all the replays, so I could store them in different folders (outside the LFS-directory), rename them and so on.

Would be easier to keep track of what replay belongs to which race. Those of you who participate in league races might feel the same way. These replays are quite precious to me and I dont want to delete them or figure out long names which describe exactly when and where the race took place.

Best Regards,

It was luck! As my team-mate Zimmi said, it happens occasionally since saturday. Sometimes the connection can be established, sometimes not. Before saturday, no problems occured.

It's a strange thing, that internet works as usual, but only the connection to the LFS master server fails every now and then.

Thanks, Krutch. I hope, our team will be dominating the OWRL soon :yipee:

I like the idea, too! That would be even more realistic and as long as LFS doesn't stop in the middle of a race with a message "We're right back after the break ..." and then starts showing ads :hyper:, I'll say
German LFS-Team Hell on Tyres (°HoT) is searching for members

Hi.

The Hell on Tyres Racing Team (°HoT) is seeking for new members. Since we are a german racing team we are only searching for german speaking members (for communication purposes in the teamspeak), i will continue in german.

---

Hallo!

@BlackEye: I knew you were kidding. Wanted that point that out just in case anyone else didn't know it.

@Vykos69: I feel honored that you also contributed to the answer of my question! Thanks very much! By the way, actually YOU are the reason why I'm now addicted to LFS. I saw you at GIGA GAMES and GIGA eSports this year where you promoted LFS. That convinced me, so I got DSL, LFS and a wheel.

Quote from BlackEye :Just practice more :eclipseeh

Thanks @all for the answers, and a remark to BlackEye: I didn't ask because I feel I'm too slow (well actually I'm not the fastest guy, but no noob anymore and not the slowest, I guess).

Just had that funny discussion with a friend yesterday and wanted to get that right.

See ya on track, guys.
Driver Weight ?
HorsePower

Ok, that's a funny question. illepall

I recently wondered, if LFS takes into account the weight of the driver. As you know, you can choose in the player-options either a male or a female driver. It looks, like the female driver is smaller and therefore would be of lighter weight than the male driver.

Does this make a difference on track? Will I get a faster acceleration due to lower total weight if I pick a female driver?

Well, I guess not, but would be nice to have it confirmed here.

Otherwise, I clearly would drive as woman in the future. :huepfenic

Maybe an easy solution for the problem would be a program (or a feature in S2) that allows converting a replay to another format, which only stores the necessary information (i.e. no telemetry data) needed for a simple, TV-like review of a race.

What about that? Wouldn't that be an option?

Edit: Another thing is, if only the inputs are stored, what happens, if the physics of the game changes? Then, if I watch an old replay, it would be possible that some cars hit the gras and get wrecked, only because of the new physics. This would lead to wrong race-results and to absolute chaos!

LFS Replay Control
HorsePower
S3 licensed
I totally agree with you. The LFS Replay Control is horrible.
When Victor says it's a hard task to improve the controls, I have to believe him. The point for me is, that if it is that hard to implement further control into the replays, maybe one should start thinking about a new way to store the replays. Obviously the whole replay-system is not technically matured by now.

In addition to that, I really would appreciate if there would be a program which only allows to watch replays (even without a S2 license) in a comfortable way . I think this has already been suggested elsewhere in this forum.

Uhm ...

Could you please be a little more detailed?

What do you mean by saying "No"?
I make it easy for you:

1) You cannot tell me your experiences (because you haven't installed Patch P2)

2) I won't have to unlock after installing P2

Unlock again after installing patch P2?
HorsePower
S3 licensed
Hi all,

I'm wondering, if I'd have to unlock S2 again if I install the P2 patch.
Since I used up all my licenses for this month (due to the laptop - standby - problem) I would not be able to unlock until September.

Could anyone just tell me his experiences after upgrading to P2.

Thanx
