Might have something to do with remote start? I start my car and let it idle for about 5 minutes before I go anywhere in the winter. As for summer, traffic is a mess and stop/go city traffic can't be good.

Did you upgrade LFS by accident? You might have seen something like:

"A new update is available"

and clicked one of the update servers. When you start LFS, on the main screen, look at the bottom and it should tell you the version you have. There are not many drivers on the B1-B10 test patches, everyone is either on 0.6B or trying 0.6B11.

Head here to download 0.6B, and then here to update to 0.6B8.

I think the Devs did good with the standard open configs. I do wish to see this bit open sometimes (see attached). I think opening up the pre-made track (half finished?) tracks in South City would benefit everyone. Racers have more curves, drifters have more angles, and cruisers have more room to, well, cruise.

There comes a point where your suggestions become nonsense though. Parking structures / multi-store levels will never become a thing. Like what most everyone said, this is Live for Speed, not Need for Speed. Opening existing sections of the track make for a better overall experience.

This should not be at the top of the Devs list, either. They must get done the more important features first: Security, and tire physics. Wanting things like Police / SUV / NOS etc. usually lead to a thread being closed, and making everyone upset.

Updated file for 0.6B+. With the new patch containing all layout pieces for all tracks, the barrier1.dds has been changed to AX_BARRIERS.dds.

I'm not sure a metro theme would be the best option. In my opinion, metro is too new of an option to go fully with. I do like your first render though.

I like typography-based websites. The non-cluttered pages are better for viewing, in my opinion. I attached a quick mockup (I'll make something nicer when I get on my laptop.)

Here's a little rundown by what I drew:

Header: contains Logo, user information (avatar [universal to lfsf, lfsw, lfs], username, and license status), and main links. This would stay on all the pages, sorta like an iFrame.

Intro: seperated in two columns. On the left, you'd have a big title, on the right (in this example) a video. This could be for big announcements (for example, S3) or stay static with a LFS promo. When I tell my friends how awesome LFS is, I want them to go to the main page and see how right I am. The video to the right would showcase LFS at it's greatest.

News: this would contain a list of recent news that you have posted, sorta like you have now on the main page. When you click the title, you'd get the full story underneath it.

Links: more links for whatever, hit or miss idea.

Fine print: fine print.

EDIT: Added quick PSD mockup, it needs background tweaking and such, but it's a base.

Power has been out since 12:00 noon, generator keeping the lights on. The water (at 1:00PM) has risen over the sand barriers, about two feet deep in some low lying areas. There's currently a travel ban (no cars on the road, only emergency vehicles), yet people still ignore it. They said around 8:00 PM it's suppost to peak at it's worst (high tide, full moon), and I bet it will. Several trees have fallen in my backyard, luckily none on any sheds or cabin. Still no Internet since noon, have been tethering through phone with 1 bar (FU SPRINT!). Pages take forever to load, so I haven't gotten a chance to upload any good pictures yet (see my previous post for link to pics/vids).
