Quote from Me. :I just installed the newest ATT Beta from here.

Now I only need to reapply the AA/AF settings when I use shift-F4, not after every single start of LFS.

7.7 drivers seem to have fixed all AA/AF problems for me (together with ATT beta).

Thanks for the nice video. The car seems to be a real handful! Lucky for you the RSC/ISI crowd were so wrong all the time, otherwise you wouldn't last a single corner.

What was the reason for the second spin? Too fast? Too hard on the brakes? Downshift problem? Glad to see you're pushing the car like you're supposed to and that you didn't hit anything during your incidents.

Do you know what your next race will be?

Is Recycle Bin on USB Flash Drive possible?
J.B.

As the title says. I often use the Windows XP Recycle Bin to undelete files. Problem is I don't know how to activate the Recycle Bin on drives where it isn't active.

External USB HD's have working Recycle Bin, USB flash drives don't. Recycle Bin properties doesn't list any flash drives either but does list USB HD's.

Does anyone know a way to enable the Recycle Bin?

The two things that have really put me off in this league so far is getting wrecked under fcy (in the first two races) and getting wrecked by lap traffic (in both of the last two races). You've solved the first problem by banning certain people and adding the pit limiter rule. But what about the second? I don't want what happened to me on lap 11 T1 at Aston Club to happen again. Maybe mandate wheel and pedals?

Nice quality. Is that free TV? Over here the broadcast is really starved for bitrate, even on pay TV.

Quote from Clownpaint :Oops, I forgot. I tried to download that earlier after the race but it failed for me.

Probably because I have a download manager.

edit: Have you got the post-race conference by any chance? I'd love to see that.

I don't have it, but the transcript is on autosport.com. Seems FA accepted the apology later in the PC.

It was the best footage I could find, it seems there is a bit missing at the start where they first meet.

Quote from Rubenz81 :Alonso: i have done it on purpose.
Massa: What? On purpose?
Massa: Go ****. You win and you say that? You ****.
Alonso: /something about heidfield and something that it's permitted to do. Maybe about a past contact?/ sorry cant understand.
Massa: You win and you do that? Learn! (Italian way to say you are a moron)
Alonso: No you learn!
Alonso: I stayed (means raced) with every one in the world (referred to other drivers, he means no problem with others), and when 3 laps last we made a contact.
Massa:Yeah you have done it on purpose, so you done it on purpose also in Barcelona? (retorical)
Massa: You done it on purpose... Learn! Learn...
Alonso cheers... and i think Massa says a bad world in portuguese...

Thx, interesting. So FA did something on purpose? What did he do on purpose? And what does he mean with " I stayed (means raced) with every one in the world (referred to other drivers, he means no problem with others), and when 3 laps last we made a contact" exactly. Something like that he keeps making contact with FM (Barcelona + 2x today) while having no problems with other drivers?

Quote from JCTK :Massa looked very angry at the press conference~ lol

well... Massa tried to push Alonso off onto the grass when Alonso had already passed him cleanly on the outside and was already in front of him... and he's unhappy about that~?!

Here's why: http://rapidshare.com/files/44 ... massa_discussion.avi.html

Alonso attacked him verbally when Massa was congratulating him. Any Italians out there that can translate the clip?

Later Alonso apologized but I'm not sure that's going to have much effect on Massa. IMO some of Massa's moves where very close but Alonso's reaction was a bit OTT (as he later admitted).

Hero of the day is SC driver, that would have been messy. N00b of the day is Kimi for missing the pit entrance on lap 1.

And another thing I'd like to know is who was responsible for LH's utterly silly fuel and tyre decisions. Hopefully not he himself. If had just done the same strategy as the others he could have been on the podium.

Quote from jaws99 :That was one of the best races i have ever seen. Those opening 3 laps or so had my crying with laughter i've never seen anything like it.

It was effing dangerous, nothing to laugh about.

Quote from zeugnimod :Yes, because of the Trulli crash when millions of car parts were lying on the track. Was 2nd or 3rd last lap, though, I think.

I think it was Alonso, crashed under yellow.

Quote from Bean0 :Hill managed a win in the Arrows in the wet, who knows what could happen today

He didn't win and it wasn't wet (Hungary 97).

Quote from ethan520 :And anyway, LFS tells us oversized g forces eg. 1g crashing at 20km/h
120g crashing at 220km/h

What's wrong with those numbers? Kubica had 75 G at 230 km/h. That includes all the absorbation from deforming structures. Or maybe that's what you meant.

Wow, I didn't see this thread coming. Truly Heartwaming. :grouphug:

Personally I don't want to demand any kind of special treatment over other demo users but seeing my avatar removed by a mod "just because he can" did annoy me.

Maybe it wouldn't be too much work for the admins to allow demo users that have been around long enough or can prove possession of an S2 account to gain S2 forum privileges? That way there would be a fair standard instead of special treatment of some users.

And for people who are wondering why I'm using a demo account the simple reason is that I used the same name at RSC and I don't like my liscensed name (SF-Joe, as in SuperFly, there, now you now my dirty secret ).

Anyway, thanks for the support, I'm sure this issue will be concluded soon.

In terms of bang for the buck I think x1950 pro is still king. If you are also interested in video playback you should get a 8600 model. All the high end cards are a joke IMO and I won't consider getting one until the GPU manufacturers realize that power consumption and noise are important issues nowadays.

Quote from sinbad :Hey, if it makes you feel better when you lose, then go ahead assuming everybody in front of you is only there because they're playing the game more than you are. If you can't accept that people are all different, and what comes easily to someone can be hard for someone else, then you're living in a different world to most of us.

Real successful sportsmen, especially racing drivers, are no different. As long as they can find a straw to grasp on they can still tell themselves they are the best in the world, bar none. Notice how none of the drivers in close competion to Lewis Hamilton have ever complimented him on his driving?

Quote from geeman1 :On a side note Adblock by itself doesn't block those banners on the lfsforums. They are not even blocked if you use the block list from pierceive.com (they have a great auto-updating block list add-on there too). So the user has to make conscius decision to block those banners if they are currently blocking them.

I know. I'm an Adblock user myself. But a few people in this thread seemed to be very happy with themselves for being able to block the LFS banners.

Quote from DaveWS :But the golfers you talk about will never get better because they think they won't / can't get any better. Put it this way, I've never thought to myself, "I can't do that" unless it was physically impossible for me to do so.

In German there is a saying that says "The others are also only using water to do their cooking". I think this is a healthy attitude to not get intimidated and keep improving.

But realistically I think some people just show that they have a talent (I call it genetical, not god-given) that is clearly hard to match by most people, no matter what their attitude is.

Quote from Scawen :
We have these banners for one reason only : so you may discover LFS community websites that you wouldn't otherwise have found out about.

Just wanted to confirm that this works. I don't think I would be taking part in the league that I currently am (LFSCAR) if I hadn't seen the banner here.

So switch off the adblock firefox nerds!
