Came accross a funny name yesterday when i made my 3rd B-Spec driver. I didn't choose him in the end, but there was one called N.Abend. German people will get it...
Anyway, i'm level 21 now. Got gold in all the top gear events... did the elise race with TC off... never want to do it again! God i hate that challenge.
Yes they are forcing us to grind. I want endurance races, so i'll have to reach level 25. And what was that about unlocking true damage at level 40? I want that too.
If i wouldn't have to reach certain levels to unlock certain features, i wouldn't have to grind, but the way it is now, there's no other way.
Not everybody is happy with 50% content right from the beginning.
I agree with that. Spent 200'000 credits yesterday on tuning a standard car i'll never want to drive... just so my B-Spec driver could have an easy race.
The whole level system is starting to get on my nerves aswell... i'm still level 20, 45'000/69'000 points. I don't wanna know how many points i'll need from level 21 to 22. :bananadea
Yeah, I wish i could simply let him get up to speed, then tell him to keep it like that and let him do the rest himself.
I always try to find cars fast enough so they'll still win the race even if they're driving in "sleep mode".
And regarding the endurance races... nobody said you'd have to watch them! Start the race, then do something else (watch a movie, read a book, go out, etc.).
It's not. I was excited about it aswell after reading some comments. However, all you can do is give your driver four different commands: Slow down, Keep current speed, Speed up, Overtake. That's it!
The rest of it is simply watching him fail or win. Can provide some comedy if he decides to start drifting all of a sudden, but other than that... meh.
PS: If i tell my driver to overtake other cars, he usually fails, gets nervous, takes stupid lines... and sometimes even starts losing places. However, if i simply tell him to drive faster, he usually overtakes anyone in sight like it's no big deal...
Hmm, maybe another car would be better then, i don't know.
My B-Spec driver is at level 8 (another one at level 5). Whenever i give them a clearly faster car, they are in first place after T1 and usually finish almost lapping the last cars.
B-Spec is to win cars in GT5 while you have other things to do. Give them a car that's clearly faster than the competition, start the race, walk away. Once the race is finished, come back and collect your prize car, then repeat. Easy.
Went back to the special events yesterday. Tried to get gold on all the AMG driving school ones (the ones that are available at lvl 20). The one where you have to do a lap on the ring with the SLS in 7:05 was quite a hard fight, but very rewarding when i got it (finished the lap in 7:01:XXX).
I take back what i said about the SLS not being a fun car to drive. On sport tires it's a blast! You guys who are playing this with a gamepad are seriously missing out!
It's normal to gain a little weight when we grow older (depends on genes anyway, some people will always be thin). I think it's just the media that makes us think we should all stay in perfect shape until we die... it's not natural in my opinion.
However, since i care about myself aswell, i try to watch what i eat sometimes, and do a little workout stuff three times a week. The best benefit of working out is that it'll make you feel better (more fit?).
I think the S2000 is pretty good. It has too much of a tendency to get sideways, but the real car is like that aswell if you push it hard (the game has it right, just way too exaggerated).
I've never driven a high horsepower car on racing slicks, so i can't really comment on those. However, i've been passenger in quite powerful cars on semi-slicks on trackdays. I feel like it's the same in real life... the more sticky tires a car has, the more boring it becomes to drive. That's the reason i've never bothered with semi-slicks for my S2000... i just have a feeling it is much more fun with road tires. So in this regard, maybe GT5 isn't too far off from reality.
@Ginho
You can use them, but you have to favourite them first in your garage (online you can only choose from cars that are your favourites).
I also find the physics feel different depending on the car. Yesterday i was driving some more powerful cars for the first time (SLS, 458, etc). With most of the "average" cars (S2000, NSX, RX-7, etc) the physics felt really good (comfort tyres)... however, cars like the SLS or 458 on sport or even racing tyres... physics feel very dumbed down and almost arcade-like to me. Was quite a disappointing experience.
I don't feel like premium cars have better physics. In my opinion it's a bit like forza... the slower cars feel much better in general.
