If you've copied the question exactly as it should be, then the probability is 0 because, as DWB already said there's a '.' in there which is not available to the monkey!

If you put the '.' there by mistake, or you didn't but it's not a trick question, your answer of (1/27)^39 is correct.*

*This obviously assumes that the odds of hitting any key is the same, and that hitting the same key multiple times in succession is no more likely than hitting any other combination of keys.

Come on guys! The pace isn't going to be on a par with the International series, so even if you're not a quick driver it's worth entering!

It might help if people could register but specify that they'll enter providing there will be n or more signups. I think a few people are holding back because they don't want to take part with only a couple of people to race against.

Making the first season free could also work...

What program are people using to watch the video Bawbag posted? Using VLC the video is extremely choppy and pretty much unwatchable. My PC is pretty crap, but I don't usually have any problems watching videos on here.

I'm afraid I'll have to miss this.

I'll certainly be down in Sussex at the time and, it being such a long way to travel, I can't really commit with any certainty.

Quote from Victor :Can you guys have one voice please? You're both saying different things.
Should they be deleted or moved to an archive? I'd prefer the archive. We don't generally delete whole subforums. Our rubbish bin also contains no forums.

Typical Arrow contradicting me in public! If it's easy for you to move all of the current sub-forums into an archive sub-forum I think you should do that. I'll deal with Arrow next time I see him on MSN!

Quote from Arrow. :Or Victor if you can create "Archive" subforum we will move threads over. thanks

We'd still have all the nation sub-forums though which we need to get rid of! He could delete those afterwards I guess...

Hi Victor,
This is a bit of a nasty request I'm afraid... could all of the sub-forums in LFS World Series possibly be moved into a new sub-forum, called "Archive"? We aren't using them anymore and they are a real pain when you just want to read the threads at the bottom of the page! So the new structure would be LFS World Series > Archive > Argentina, LFS World Series > Archive > Australia, etc.

Cheers,
Josh

Quote from BURN :what is that information for?

To me, it says: I´m still dont care about the work that was needed to prog this great Sim, but i want all my stats counted and hosted by the dev`s website for free!

Is "Demo racer" something you are proud of?

What a completely stupid reply!

Me and my housemate picked up a couple of bags of pork-scratchings from the local petrol station on our way back from town tonight... we bumped into some chavs who told us about an earthquake in the area. I commented on how blatantly the chavs were lying to us, but they were infact telling the truth!! Who'd have thought it?!

Anyway, I'm thoroughly disappointed that I missed this. Hopefully next time we'll get some sort of warning so I can pre-emptively load up Call of Duty.

Quote from xaotik :Indeed there appears to be a one day discrepancy. While yours for example is the same for both LFS and RSC. *shrug*

I don't quite understand how you think they would have taken the data from RSC..? Lots of people had LFS license names which were different to their RSC username, and also the vast majority of RSC users would not have been LFS license holders. Do you think they checked every LFS license name for a corresponding RSC account and copied the date? From a programming perspective I can't believe they would have done that. Obviously they wouldn't have manually copied 68,000 accounts either...

Quote from xaotik :Well then I guess I'm the exception to the rule since my join date was migrated from the RSC forums even though I wasn't a registered LFS user at the time.

Are you sure? Your RSC account has a different join date to your LFS account.

Quote from shiny_red_cobra :There has? I still have a demo account from 2003 (that I forgot about until very recently) and it's still in the database. Granted it's "no longer welcome" on the forum since we can't have 2 accounts.

Well that clears things up then I guess!

Quote from Albieg :I understand that, but still I have to note that the first users in the list are either s1 or s2 licensed, and this forum was created in 2005, after the release of S1. No demo users, except one who posted in the thread I linked with a demo account since he couldn't change his name.
So there are a few options:
1) All the first lfs.net account holders eventually got an s1 or s2 license.
2) There has been a cleanup of demo users.

If there's been a cleanup, either initially or later, only licensed accounts remain at the start.
Edit: I've browsed only the first 20 users or so, so my conclusions are partial.

Well it seems unlikely that anyone who registered at the beginning of 2003 and, 2.5 years later was still active in LFS (registering on this forum), would not be licensed.

Quote from xaotik :Actually, when the forum move from RSC to this one occurred the usernames and join dates were moved as well.

No, the usernames and join dates are for LFS accounts only. These are completely seperate from RSC accounts.

Edit: So, back on topic, vari was the first person to register a LFS account (apart from Victor), but afaik it's impossible to see who bought the first S1 license. S1 wasn't released until July 17th 2003, by which time there were 1000s of accounts already created.
