Quote from nacim :Nice, Kyoto really came a long way ! Smile

So to recap what I see on this graphics update, correct me if I'm wrong (considering that some features are just experiments may never see the light of day, pun intended Big grin) :
- HD tracks
- cascaded shadow maps
- per pixel lighting with Cook-Torrance BRDF, in pixel shader 3.0
- car headlights (with working pop ups for XR models ?)
- procedual sky (clouds and fog are the next steps I suppose, please don't forget cloud shadows Tongue )
- HDR rendering (with which tonemapper do you use btw ? Smile)
- Automatic camera exposure (using standard screen information or some Scawen trickery ? Big grin)
- HD number plates, gauges, and UI fonts

That seems like the biggest update will have since I joined so far Smile

Well, it can't just be a graphics update afaik, it will be everything else Scavier has been working on too because it's all on one separate dev version.

Quote from michal 1279 :Why to drive over them?

I hope there will be some layout in the way there on the track layouts, I assume this is an open layout without any objects.

Looks mint, still a shame it'll be a while before we can play it.

I would say these sausage curbs need to be much higher to solve the cutting issue that corner currently has, from this angle it looks like I could easily drive over them without any issues. I think something similar to Rockingham is good for height i would say, if not a tad too tall.

Quote from nikolai_01 :Soon LFS is getting day/night cycle, maybe. Updated graphics too

Those are relying on tyre physics being completed, i hope it's soon but i have my doubts.

I just had a thought, i think it would be pretty cool to have a Jackson Pollock painting as a skin. I personally think No 11 would look epic, but if you are mental enough to take up the challenge then you pick the painting you want. Doesn't matter what car, preferably a car without slicks.

I don't think it's that worth it me. After the initial excitement, I've only done a few races at Rockingham. If you want to put £12 into a single track then go to iRacing, it's much more alive.

Of course, if you want to support Scawen and Eric then go ahead. If you aren't content with paying £12 just for Rockingham then just wait to see if anything comes out, i wouldn't risk it.

Quote from F.C.Barcelona :only worth the demo better invest your money in some beers

Kinda true atm, the only public racing that you can just jump into at most times of day is demo racing, sadly.

Quote from klbbadd2002 :Hard swerve. 5tag has a great point and your reply proved it. The to-do list on your desk must look like a picture my 3 year old colored. The 9+ year tyre physics project isn't done but lets make the skies darker guys.

Watch out, each negative post replaces a week of coding with a week of mountain biking.

Still looks cool but...
Quote from Scawen :DISCLAIMER: This work is unfinished and there are many issues left to solve. At this point it is not certain that it will be released. This must be taken in the spirit of a progress report, showing experimental work that sometimes takes place behind the scenes.

Round: 2
Session of Incident: Race
Protestor's LFS Lap: 134
Timecode of Incident: 2:55:05.00
Your Car number: 04
Protested Car number: 15
Brief description of incident: The 15 is 20+ laps down . The 15 crashes into jueweb which means he is stopped on track, he then reverses into the racing line. We all pretty much manage to avoid him and we keep on going to the next corner, where i try to overtake him. I am fully alongside him when he turns into the side of me causing me to not be able to turn properly. This puts me and him into a wall, spinning me half way around. He then continues to apply pretty much full throttle into the side of my car pushing me along the track spinning me around even further.

This is just one of the many examples of dangerous driving from the number 15 during this race, this is just the incident that affected me the most.

Rainy and grey, we don't really get any proper snow here. Only got down to negative celsius for about a week this winter and only ever gets up to about 25 in summer for a day if you are lucky. We have a word here in Scotland which describes our weather perfectly; dreich.

Well since the autocross progress report was made, Christmas and New Years have happened, so I'm surprised this report wasn't delayed a bit.
