I don't want to add this feature request to the test patch thread because it's not related to the current patch, but since there will be a long quiet time after this patch I hope Scawen could implement following fix into this patch:
When highres skins are activated in LFS and you watch a replay, LFS of course uses highres skins.
But in case the replay is quite old (or is from a time you haven't activated highres skins) often some skins are not available anymore and the skin download from LFS main server fails.
The result is a white car.
The issue I have with this is that in most cases I have the lowres skin for these cars saved in the LFS folder (thats because at the time the replay was recorded I didn't used highres skins and LFS downloaded the low res skin automatically, as usual).
Instead of using this lowres skin of a car it's just white.
When I deactivate highres skins in LFS and watch the same replay the skins are there (in low resolution), so the skins are really there and LFS could use them.
So, Scawen, to put it in a nutshell, I would love if you could teach LFS to look for a low resolution skin and use it when no high res skin is available when watching replays.
First 8 onboard laps in a BMW Z4 V8 Coupe around the Nordschleife during a VLN multi class race.
The 3rd lap was released as a single (awesome) video some time ago, now you see full 8 race laps.
Lap 1-3 shows nice fighting. The driver of the Z4 doesn't manage to overtake the car infront but he sticks at the rear bumper all the time. From lap 6 on it gets a bit emotional because he could be faster but the car in front just blocks too good.
Lap 8 got a little surprise.
At the beginning there's a close fight for position with 3-4 cars into "Tiergarten".
Later the car right in front has an accident during an overtaking attempt (5:15 min.).
Then a short but unexpexted slide in the very fast left turn "Mutkurve".
After the crash there's no direct fight for position anymore but many cars of lower classes to overtake.
Tried the Blackwood X Layout with LX6.
Managed to drive into the lake and kept falling (falling under the lake until the car respawned within the lake and started falling again).
I guess you already know that but I just wanted to report it in case you didn't.
Side note: Since the camera can point at the car/look at center of the car is there any chance we could get a auto rotate option which moves the camera around the car while looking at it automatically?
Or when you point at the car you have an option that the camera focuses at another car while keeping the first car in picture.
Though I do understand if you don't want to work on further features but just fix current bugs.
This community is starving and I hope we'll see at least a test patch of anything this year.
I also think something like the great LX-month - AutoX competition and the LX skinning competition could bring a bit of fresh air while everyone is waiting.
And when the patch comes out ( if it does at all ) i think it will not bring any more then what scawen anouced ( tyre phisics, VW and the Rock track ). [...]
Rockingham is anounced as future S3 content not as content of the next patch.
How can I make shure, that I will get an email each time someone posts in this thread? (sorry to ask, but maybe it´s an automatic function...)

Watching too. I see there are huge gaps in the track using TV Director.. something I've been trying to resolve recently too. I figure it's an LFS bug. Does anyone have any solutions for this? I'm using a PCI-E 7950GT.
Sometimes it helps to disable TVDirector ingame, then shift+u, moving the camera a bit and afterwards activate the TVDirector again.
Hope this helps. I haven't used the TVDirector for the last few months though.
I just wanted to link to an awesome racing video with the "Getrag BMW Z4 Coupe V8" at the Nordschleife. One full midrace lap, onboard, always behind one of his opponents through all the (lower class) traffic.
9 minutes pure racing.
It's a stream video in good quality.
Go to http://www.motorsportvideo.tv/ or http://renn.tv/ to see more great racing videos.
At renn.tv go to the "Video Download" section. There are YouTube links and "Download in besserer Qualität" (= download in better quality) links.
When you click on the 2nd link you come to a site where you have to write your e-mail adress in a field. Click on the button. Then you receive an e-mail with a download link for the hr-video. The link in the e-mail is not completely marked as a hyperlink, make sure you mark the full link and copy/paste it in your browser.
I really recommend the download of the "24h Megamix" video there. It's one lap through the green hell switching through various cars during the 24h '07 race. The sound of the first car (MSpeed Porsche Cayman)when the lights going green is just incredible.
[EDIT]
Just another video at the nordschleife. It's a "Taxi drive". A normal person is passenger in a Porsche 996 Cup car with a real racing driver (Dirk Adorf) driving it.
Just pure fun to look at the passengers face
