My dad & I have done the same thing in the past...a word of advice, test it out, make sure your controler can handle the length. We found that as the controler got hot near the end of a 3hr race around westhill we only got 3/4 pedal which kinda of killed out top end
Meaning no course defining barriers? The admin / host would then be able to add driving line, barriers, s/f line, sectors etc... to define a track? Maybe no manditory barriers...might be fun to try and discover the layout, you'd need a new message thought "you're off the track doofus!"
Now that is a sweet idea. With the 3d terraforming programs that already exist AND the modding tools for other games (rF, NascarHEAT) I could see an enterprising programmer create an app to do just that. (The coding already exists, it might be as simple as a cut and paste job except for the little part of getting all the bits to talk to each other) I could further see exporting of the resultant map to multiple platforms. (rF, NH, LFS...)
while i'm thinking about it, it would be nice to have the tire temp graphic/data from the previous laps displayed in the pit screens to aid in camber/pressure assessment
my last post got shot down while i was looking through the improvement list so i thought i'd try again....i wanna ashut off the qualify list, it's too long and blocks my view of the apex on right handers.
I was just thinking that it would be nice that when I block the messages that it would be nice to have ALL the messages blocked, including new HL times & pit in/outs etc. not JUST the conversations.
All I'm getting at is that if a driver on my team is going to takeover my seat during a race AND that driver has personal preferences re:handling (that are changeable from the current f12 menu), then I don't want him to have to tell me what he likes and then I have to remember them AND find a safe time to set them for him sometime during my stint.
I think it would be better if he had access to my f12 menu and could log onto the server during my in-lap and set my f12 to his own personal preferences. Then the pit crew would take as much time as necessary during the handover stop to make the adjustments requested.
The point is really so that the current driver dosen't have to do it. IRL the pit crew would already know what to change and driver1 dosen't have to do anything for driver2 except bring the car onto pit lane.
What i mean is for the guy who's gonna take over from you, if he wants a turn or two taken out of his wings, that needs to be set before you pit for his takeover.
So either he has to tell you & you gotta set it for him before you pit next OR he has to takeover, do a lap to make the f12 changes then pit again to have them adjusted.
BTW I was just thinking that it would be settable through world, but upon further consideration it might be easier to have a "teammate" box somewhere in the options screen where the lfsname of your approved takover-er could be entered.
I'd like to see something at WORLD that would allow me to set a "team member" or alternate driver for my car. Then, when they connect to take over for me at an endurace event they can have acces to my f12 to set their own pit changes. The f12 commands would only be visible to them or course.
Is there a way to disble restarts...if my server is running publicly, is there something can i set in the config. to disable the restart vote as soon as someone hits the vote button so that once a race/qual is started it MUST run out the time unless an admin. restarts it?
dont know if this will help but...every now and then i get problems with the profiler and it helps to delete all the profile description files. i'm at work atm so i cant tell ya exactly where they live but I THINK -> c:/program files/logitech/profiler/games (or something similar to that) close the profiler before deleting and ALWAYS BACK 'EM UP FIRST! the default one should be recreated the next time you start the profiler...BE AWARE THAT THIS WILL MEAN YOU WILL NEED TO RE-MAP ALL THE PROGRAMMED KEYS.
The files you need to delete are pretty easy to find & identify but if in doubt DONT DO IT, wait till i get home & I'll post the exact files & their paths
