I haven't done enough practise yet but I could do it by the weekend. I'm not sure if I'll be able to complete my hour stint due to being in constant pain when sitting back. Come Thursday I will either confirm us or say we're not gonna be there

I was at Old Hairpin for most of the WSBR meeting last year. Lots of overtaking there with the run down Craner Curves. Its quite a long way from the spectating bank to the track though so not good for pictures.

Ouch. Nathan can't use the rifle though with his broken fingers so we're all a bit screwed

I had a biiiiiiiiiig accident today. At Wombwell after turn 1 there's a 75mph straight. My brake disk exploded in turn 1 and i didn't know so I just kept my foot down and got to top speed on the straight. I went to hit the brakes and nothing happened. I went straight on into the tyres got thrown up into the air and landed on my back with the kart on top of me.

That's me out of LFS for a good few days then

@AstroBoy - sorry for not responding to the PM, I totally forgot Anyway, the answer is no, I won't be accepting anyone else into the team at the moment sorry.

No competition kart should have a rollbar. The drivers have very little protection on their body and you wouldn't really appreciate a big metal thing coming down in your lap would you?

@Sully - there are walls very close to the track at many places. Wombwell is one of the most obvious ones. There's a concrete wall running alongside the two straights. There's a metal fence thing very close to the track at the last turn, a wall on the outside of the hairpin. So, yeah, some tracks have very little run-off area.

I have the building blocks of a system like this coded already. It needs updating to the new version of insim but it shouldn't be too hard. If you can supply the servers then I should be able to supply the engine.

Basically I want my program to notice when a memory value in another application (LFS) changes. By the sounds of it, a timer would be the best option.

P.S. I should go with my suggestion?

I guess there's a way since Mechanik and Tweak do it so how would I go about monitoring a memory value continuously but still allowing the rest of my app to be used? I tried a standard loop but, as I thought, it won't let me do anything else in the app.

No programs that edit the spec of the cars are allowed to be used by demo racers anymore. This is built into my Mechanic build which I'm just about to send to one of the mods. oo, which one, hmm......

EDIT: Realised it worked in hotlap mode. Guess I won't be sending it off to the mods just yet...

The karts look pretty crap really, they have rollcages which proper karts don't have. It says nothing about the engine but I would expect it to be a 4-stroke thing giving 6-7hp. Won't quite do 45mph I don't think.

Tips to be fast: be smooth. Take the racing line (outside then to apex then back to outside). Don't go flying into a corner just to have to slow down tons to be able to get out of it, slow in, fast out. Oh, and be smooth.

EDIT: Ignore my engine part, I didn't see they were electric. As Stu said, glorified theme-park karts. Search on google for 'karting tampa bay' and i'm sure you'll find something a bit better
