Quote from tbofram :Ha, well I just looked at a faux hall corsa 1.0 as it seems cheap for insurance (£800) but I'm not really a boy racer so I will pass on that part.

Anyone watch that top-gear episode when they looked at cars for teens and Jeremy got that super sexy Volvo? I want that(I have always like it but don't know why)

Maybe try a Peugeot 106 1.1 or 1.5D (decent mpg, but you may struggle to comfortably drive it as they are quite small lol)

Otherwise try a car that no young person would drive as you will probably find it's a lot cheaper than the cars 'chavs' drive.

Quote from Jertje :Unfortunately not. The wire which connects the Wireless Xbox controller only feeds power, not input. So in essence the signal is still wireless and your PC won't recognise it.

.. if you did find a way to get a wireless controller to work I would love to know though, then I can get my other controller out of the box it's in

You will need the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller Receiver, it's around £7 on eBay.

Quote from ShMaunder :I remember discovering LFS on an included DVD from some well known computer magazine in 2003. It was an early pre-S1 alpha build if I remember correctly. Played for 8 years on the demo before purchasing the game about 6 months ago.

Have rarely played outside of single player in those years though.

Happy 10th LFS, and here to another 10 years.

Pretty sure that's how I found it too? Wasn't it PC Gamer or similar?

Quote from hamman62 :still available? would u ship overseas?!

Currys were selling the G27 for £149.99 brand new, you will find it cheaper locally than paying for it to be shipped.

Quote from Matrixi :Not sure if you know this, but rev matching and double clutching have nothing to do with each other. Double clutching is only for shifting up, rev matching is for shifting down.

On old trucks (and some cars) you needed to double clutch to shift up, as the transmissions didn't have synchros. The Ford Toploader transmission on my dads '67 Mustang pretty much required double clutching for speedy gear changes.

Rev matching/heel & toe is for when you're down shifting to keep the drivetrain and engine rotational speeds close to each other to prevent judder.

Ah my bad, I had a look online but only found double clutch downshifts, nevermind

Quote from 5tag :Seems to be a nice circuit for street cars, not too wide, good mix of slow and fast corners and straights. Your driving/line is enjoyable to watch, but I would have guessed an experienced driver with the opportunity to practise hand-foot-coordination on LFS would double clutch.^^

Why wouldn't you heel toe downshift? or just rev match the downshift?

11.30 - Driver signing session
13.00 - 14.00 Qualifying
14.30 - Top 16 announced - Maxxis truck. (Top 16 briefing to follow).
15.30 Top 16 finals.

Well got back from Trax a few hours ago now. Congrats on getting into the Top 16

Me and my brother were watching you practice at 9:00, your entries were incredible! so much angle and speed compared to everyone else..!

Didn't see you qualify but honestly I knew you'd do it, was up in the Brooklands building out on the balcony, got loads of pictures and videos of you.

Your practise against that Starlet was great, you really got the entry well and clipped the apex nicely.. The first run was amazing too, the entry had so much angle lol and you pulled a nice lead against him. Was really gutted for you on the second run, you did get him so well in the first turn and it looked soo close even from where we were standing, was such as shame you lost it on the next turn!

Will get the pictures and videos edited - I'll PM you the links to them

Edit - Just a quick one of the awesome entry! (Click for Wallpaper)

Quote from e2mustang :What tool do you use to cut the car out? coz again not perfect, and i was very careful !

I'd use the Pen tool and make it do a path, then right click the finished path and click make selection. That way you get a really smooth cut out, magnetic lasso/lasso tool will leave you will jaggy lines..

Quote from Omar1 :Hi guys, i need some help. I'm trying to overclock my CPU but as i have an Intel motherboard, i cant.
I've tried SetFSB, i managed to set a FSB but afterwards, my computer just pretty much freezes making me switch it off via the power supply button, after that, the changes are applied. I set the FSB a little bit higher than standard and it still does it.

Specs:
Intel DG31PR
Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 @ 2.80GHz
2GB OCz Ram
ATI HD Radeon 4870 1GB X2

Add: While looking at my specs in CPU-z, turns out i've managed to OC my cpu. The Bus speed was 266MHz, now its 273MHz, its only a 0.73GHz extra.

So now my CPU is at 2.87GHz, is there any way to increase it more and making sure it saves? Im thinking just to do it little by little. E.g increase BUS by 5MHz, restart then do it again.
Thanks

I've read your motherboard doesn't support over clocking in the BIOS, I'd suggest getting a motherboard that can do that.

If you really can't change it then try this guide,

http://pcgamersera.com/how-to- ... ock-on-intel-motherboard/

If you are going to mess with the Vcore voltage your safe to be within this, 0.8500V-1.3625V (try to keep it as low as possible though)

The temperature is safe upto 74.1°C but again try to keep it below 70°C.

People can get your CPU to 3.5Ghz+ but that is with a proper overclockable motherboard.

Apparently you can easily set the FSB to 300mhz with standard voltage, but use Prime95 to test the stability.

I would set it up how it's like in the image, I think even if you moved it outside it would attract dust still. I wouldn't use the rear fan to suck air in, keep it pulling air out and make the fans at the front take air into the case.

Quote from R3DMAN :The h100 comes with 2 120mm fans. Rad is 240mm x 120mm so nowhere to mount it directly to the case i thought about making some brackets up so i can mount it out the back so it has as much air as it wants without disrupting the airflow in the case.

Ah I understand now, so you were planning to mount it like this??

Quote from R3DMAN :snip

Those temperatures seem fine really, but the CPU is rated up to 68 degrees on Intel's site. If you upgraded to the H100 you should see a decent drop, maybe add some more fans to extract the heat out the back? (not sure how many your case has or what the H100 comes with?)

Something like this maybe?

If you aren't bothered with the noise of the GPU fans then you could manually make them come on quicker and a bit faster?

Quote from Omar1 :clean, i like it! is it quick?

It's has 105hp as standard (1.6 non-vtec) but it's got a few mods which should bring that up a bit. It shouldn't have any trouble out on track, especially in the corners
