When I called the people I got patched through to were definately not English, Id say Swiss or something, but what do I know. Its not UK based as the website would lead you to beleive. They were however very friendly and efficient whenever Ive called.

Ive got a power problem as well, its the psu itself though, Ive tried the wheel with my mates psu and it works fine. When I spoke to Logitech they said no problem, took my name and address and sent me a new psu...........for European sockets
I even bought a European to Uk adaptor, still doesnt work. So I called them back, they said they dont have any UK adaptors, they cant pre-order one for me when they come in, so the best I can hope for is to keep calling them back to see if they have any in yet.
Ive looked for an equivelant adaptor but I dont want to buy something unless I know its going to work.

Anyone got any ideas? Or better still, anyone got a spare psu they are willing to sell?

The best action I saw was about half way up the hill, past the main grandstands, you can look down on parts of the track.
It doesnt really matter though, half the cars will not be "on it", and the F1 cars stopped every couple of hundred yards or so to do burnouts
Be sure to spend lots of time in the paddocks, you can get right up close to most of the fantastic machines there.
You cant fail to have fun though, such a great event.
I went to the revival meeting last year and hope to make it this year. Good to hear your getting dressed up taa, we did last year in a really last minute way but it was definately worth it. Officially THE best motorsport event Ive been to, fantastic atmosphere, amazing cars and WW2 fighters and bombers buzzing the track between races!

Quote from JeffR :I'm not aware of any open cockpit racer or motorcycle racer that doesn't use earplugs of some type. I always use foam earplugs and a helmet when driving my motorcycle. The earplugs cut out almost all of the wind noise, and you can hear the engine (and other vehicles). When I had the Caterham, the wind noise was also very loud, and earplugs once again greatly reduced wind noise to the point that if driver and passenger wore earplugs, you could hear a normal conversation. The foam earplugs mostly eliminate high frequency noises.

The in car sounds should reflect what a driver hears, including the effects of earplugs, or earplugs should be a sound option.

Very good point! This should go in the improvement suggestions bit

Thanks so much

I didnt get as worked up as some about the new patch, Ive been too busy, and everytime I drop by here there is far too much stuff to read.
Also my wheel is not working, no power.
And, I am away from my pc every weekend at the moment, so no weekend long "new patch" session like the old days
But....I downloaded the patch on Friday before I left and wow. The first time I clicked on car and saw BMW Sauber..... I really cant describe how I felt. Im so happy for you guys, and us! Its a momentus occasion for lfs, I hope you guys had a few drinks over the weekend to celebrate, you deserve it

Now Im gonna try to fix my DFP, wish me luck.

Quote from tristancliffe :If you post a thread about your car saying what do we think, what do you expect? It's not exactly orgasm causing. I totally understand the pride of ownership, especially first car ownership, but what did you expect us to do? Drop everything and dribble?

Maybe that is what he should of expected, but wouldnt it be nice if instead of the mud slinging someone said, "way to go, first car, enjoy it, congrats, dont crash it."
Or something like that. Maybe its just me, but you gotta hope your not the only one who wants to make the world a little bit nicer.

Its about an hour down the road from me.
Ive been to testing a few times, it can get a little frustrating, lots of waiting, but definately worth it when the cars come out.
Not sure if Im free that week, but if I am Ill try to go for one of the days.
Im sure sidepants will be up for it, if work permits. Oh, and the weather.

Lots of ifs.....

Im no fizzy-cist either but Id hazzard a guess that without the steam engine there would have been no industrial revolution. They were used for everything from locomotives to powering factories and mills, literally cogs and axles moving weaving looms and grinding wheels and ...... everything. It enabled mass production.

Quote from wingtip :I do rc helicopters and submarines

Submarines? Got any pics? How did you get into that? Any info you wanna give Ill take
Nice flying btw I assume you are piloting in the pic you posted, looks pretty low to be that far inverted (in my limited knowledge)

Quote from P5YcHoM4N : A friend of mine who I knew in the CaCC used to fly RC planes. I always wanted one, until it took a hard landing and snapped in half. Then I figured it'd cost too much to have a hobby like that.

Yeah, crashing them is never fun. I bailed out of so many landings I cant remember, and I never took it up in anything more than a light breeze. Think, little boy terrified of breaking the best toy he ever had..

Helicopters cost more, I remember my Dads friend once crashed his because a little switch on the controller had been flicked accidently. It reversed one of the controls meaning when he tried to correct on take off it just went further over. The central axle thingy got bent and a few other bits, it wasnt just the money but the time stripping the thing down and building it up again, variable pitch rotors are (were? things might have changed) so complicated.

I used to fly planes as a kid, with my Dads friend. I had a petrol Precedent HiBoy (cessna-like learner plane very similar to this) we built from a kit. He used to fly helicopters. I lost interest for some reason, cant think why. I got seriously into mountain biking so that could have been it. Ive always wanted a nitro rc car, just never got round to getting one.

My mate got one of these for his birthday. When it works, its great fun, highly addictive. I dont know how many rotors he has replaced though, its a bit flimsy.

Id love to make another RC project, Im thinking maybe a yacht

Quote from bw_krupp :I only read the first page. Seems to work ok. However...

Changing cartype doesn't bring up the downforce menu

Mechanik settings not available

Just clicking on "default" tab resets everything to default

My main complaint is the lack of editability of the mechanik settings. In my experience with previous versions, the weight property in mechanik affected the weight of the body while the weight property in LFSTweak affected the weight of the engine. To fine tune a vehicle, you need to be able to adjust both. If possible, could you update Mechanik to Patch Q at least so we could run both mechanik and LFSTweak at the same time (or do an LFSTweak for Patch P5)?

This should answer some of your questions..

Quote from Fonnybone : Ok, let me clear this up. As much as i WOULD like to make this an S2 affair, fact is S1-S2 cars are encrypted therefore only
demo cars are open to modifications. I made a thread about all this a while back where i pointed out many reasons NOT to
mod the demo cars, but again, S1-S2 cars are not open to modifications. I made MecaniK in the meanwhile which manages
to edit S1-S2 cars a bit, although it's a trick. It only edits cartypes, which has many limits making it impossible to do what
LFSTweak does. Because of these limitations and the HotLap issue, i decided to go back to LFSTweak. I know some people
don't agree, but then again, you can never please everyone.

Now about the downforce. Some of those who've used LFSTweak in the past might remember the downforce appearing in
the Garage using certain cartypes. Well, that's a thing of the past. I didn't go digging for it either since, once again, i
wanted to keep a certain distance with S2 cars. I'm not saying it will never happen, but it's not a priority, even less now.
There are a few other things i could have added but contrary to what some like to believe, i'm not out to recreate S1-S2
cars for demo users. LFSTweak will never be able to provide the true feeling of S1-S2 cars. Add to that, LFSTweak doesn't
give you access to the oval or any other tracks.

At least you admit you only read the first page

Quote from thisnameistaken :First single I ever bought was Madness - House of Fun. Same year I think, but my choice of single is better than yours

I still think the bassline from House of Fun is one of the best basslines ever.

I have to admit your right, at the time I would have argued with you till the cows got bored, but these days I apreciate madness much more.
I bought the very first "now thats what I call music" that year, house of fun was on it

on topic - ahem, still smoking

Quote from thisnameistaken :Biggie - sorry, I was quoting an old Adam Ant song, "Goody Two Shoes". It's quite possible that the song wasn't a hit in Germany, because it was... well, rubbish, frankly.

Blasphemy! Stand and Deliver was the first single I ever bought, Kings of the Wild Frontier the first album. Still love it!

Ahem, back on topic, still smoking, very similar situation to Vilante 11, planning on quitting before Im 30 in May, Ive smoked for 16 years! I hate it, its so depressing being a slave to something so bad for you, i am weak. But I am determined to overcome.

Biggie, apart from the no drinking, no smoking you just described me!

Maybe not quite as good as the brass eye / day today stuff, but still makes me laugh. I love that, "Hello IT, have you tried turning it off and on again?"
standard greeting.

Imo the best stuff Chris Morris did was the radio series Blue Jam, much more surreal

But.... if I was presenting an award, Seth MacFarlane, if you havnt seen them, you must go out and watch Family Guy and American Dad, I command it!
What are you still sitting there for?
Go forth and laugh this instant.

Ive had a couple, the "best" by far in terms of recalling the story, was hitting a police car. He was going through a red light with the lights and siren going, I was going through the green light

Totalled the police volvo and my companies toyota avensis. What made it worse was it being rush hour, and the cars having to stay in the middle of the junction until accident investigators turned up to find out whose fault it was. People in the pub over the road came out to watch the carnage. I was a minor celebrity for an afternoon on the Coventry road.

I know what your thinking, that was your fault! Well, not really, I couldnt see the police car because of 2 lines of stationary traffic which I was under-taking (what? they were stationary! and yes I did think it was odd that they were stationary on a green light), I didnt hear it because I had my radio on as loud as it goes. Oops. I t-boned him at about 35mph.
I think I got away with it because the copper was on his own in the car, no-one checking left for him.

Im pretty jumpy about hearing sirens when I drive now, and
the music volume stays low (ish), lesson learned. Luckily, we both walked away unharmed.

Oh and Smax, your a nutter, maybe your safer without a car

The only one Id consider is the DFP.
You can get them over here for about £65, $155AUD
Solid FF wheel, some report weak pedals, some dont, wear socks and be gentle I say
For the money theres no choice imho.
