Now my wheel is working I thought Id give this a go, woorks a treat!
Great program
I have a suggestion - saving multiple setups, one per car.
That way I can have my assymetric setup for the tin tops and symetric for the single seaters. Maybe one per car is not needed, but a way of saving presets would be great. Quicker than changing it every time and having to remember the values. Damn Im lazy
Crisis over! My wheel now worky! Im deliriously happy :woohoo:
My months and months of wheel-less-ness are over.
USB drivers were installed, after hours and hours of searching I found someone else who had the same problem. They fixed it by loading the default settings in the BIOS. Somethig I should of tried along time ago. Oh well, its fixed now.
It turns out the wheel is fine (tested it on another pc, my old one is still dead),
So there is something wrong with my pc, Im thinking usb ports, it doesnt work in any of them. I dont have any other usb device handy that I know should just work if I plug it in to test the ports.
In desperation/frustration Ive just reinstalled windows and it still doesnt work.
Someone really doesnt want me to race
My DFP has been broken for a while, I finally got round to buying a new psu and it still didnt work. So I phoned Logitech on Monday. They sent me a new wheel, it arrived today! How good is that?
I just got time to hook it up and spend the evening in "new wheel LFS bliss" and I cant get it to work.
Seems to be getting no power, am I right in thinking as soon as you plug the power in it does its start up roatation thing? Im getting nothing, reinstalling the software is doing nothing, it cant detect the wheel.
This should be so simple, what am I doing wrong? Or have they sent me a dud wheel?
I dont think I got out of the pissing myself laughing stage with badminton. I swear I get more exercise from the laughing than the running around.
Badminton too serious ehh? hmm, thats a tough one.
I guess maybe a sport neither of you have tried before? and just.....try not to take it so seriously? I dunno, skydiving or something
I reckon thats the best idea yet. Most big supermarkets have online shops and will deliver for free if you order over a certain amount. Just be careful of the "accept similar if not available" option. Its not uncommon to get the value version if those fancy sausages you wanted are out of stock.
Id say review your priorities. You have a limit of what is possible to achieve, dont beat yourself up if you dont meet your expectations because it may be that your expectations are too high.
It does sound like your working to much, that work / life balance can be very hard to find. Even if you love your work, spending more time doing leisure activities WILL make you happier, how about you and your girlfriend go play badminton (any 2 player sport will do) together? 2 birds 1 stone
You could do the same thing with Samurize
It gives you a warning if you make a config too big, but Ive never had a config slow my pc down. My current config takes less than 5mb
Im pretty sure that veyron thing would be do-able.
Try F8 or Delete to get to BIOS.
+1 for partitions, below is a quick pic of a Samurize config I use, showing all my partitions. You can change the default install location (program files) in the registry, in regedit -
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version
You will find a key called ProgramFilesDir, right click and choose modify. I changed mine to D:/Program Files.
WARNING - Edit the registry at your own risk, no responsilbilty accepted by me etc.
You can move the location of My Documents as well but its a little easier. In windows explorer right click the My Documents folder, choose properties, then click move on the target tab. I moved mine to G:/My Documents.
H:/work is backed up to K:/work with a little batch file and Ive set the page file to its own partition on a different drive to windows to improve performance. And of course, LFS gets its own partition
At uni years ago I spent a short period of time experimenting with lack of sleep. For a while I was in a routine of 48 hours awake and 24 hours asleep illepall
It makes all sorts of things funny when you have been awake for that long.
I use this view for the single seaters as well, but only to learn the lines, eventually, Im faster in car. Even then I set up a custom view so I can have the empty look back thing. I know its not realistic but I believe in trying to make up for some of the lack of other sensory indicators by compromising on realism at times. It definately helps me race cleaner online.
But then again, maybe I should make myself get used to the more realistic way, to better prepare me for my future race career *dream*
Straight, often joke about being gay and in some ways, I wish I was gay.
It would make life so much easier, no having to deal with the evil incarnate that is, women.
You may know all this stuff Danowat, but maybe not everyone else does?
You also know how unusual it is for devs of any game to post information like this? Whats the point of the thread?
Talk about ungrateful. Im sorry you cant see it, but it really is helpful for some people.
Saw a DB9 today, but then I see them quite often in Birmingham. This one was in Hamble near Southampton, in that car park I also saw a TVR Chimera, Lotus Elan, Maserati Coupe or Grand Sport (not sure which), various Porsches including a Carrera 4S and a really cool 60`s 911.
And I didnt even look that hard...
Im one of those people happily using LFSC with no problems, just posting to say thanks for your work.
Sorry to hear your leaving it, if its time, then fair enough, if its the abuse, like other people have said the moaners are always the loudest.
*Other words of encouragement a better linguist than me might come up with* you get the sentiment
Noob error nutty, never correct someone else on their spelling if you cant spell yourself
Im not that good myself, ahem, http://dictionary.reference.com/
