people do it so they can do twin drifting easier, most people fail at following on colds because they don't know how to keep drifting when someone is slower in front of them, with hot tyres its pretty much no effort to keep the car sideways
can't wait for the new tyre physics, would like to be able to do more then 1 lap on a track without having to pit
the cars in iracing are very limited when it comes to drifting, most of the drifts you can do are low angle, its a lot different to hitting full lock around corners
there could be some huge flaws in the physics of iracing that could make it fail for big high angle drifts but because there isnt a car that can do that so nobody can say if it would be any good for drifting
it can do that just fine, that isnt really drifting tho
even tho LFS has some pretty big flaws its still is the closest thing to real life drifting there is atm, steering techniques in LFS for drifting are pretty much the same as real life
its to hard to tell if the physics are fine for it, there are no cars or tyres that suitable for full on drifting and i doubt it ever will have them, kinda sucks because i only really drift when i play sims and iracing is a great sim
a 180sx, killed the engine (stuffed conrod bearing) 3 months ago at a drift day and only just got it fixed, hope to do another drift day within the next few months or a comp at the start of May
them not letting you drift on a dry track sucks, you can go so much harder when the track is dry
if you are worried about some premature wear then you shouldnt be driving your car lol
i know that keeping my wheels spinning will be just fine, more worried about killing my diff by doing a bad clutch kick or gear change mid drift, like trying to change from 2nd to 3rd powering out of a corner, gearbox, clutch, diff and half shafts dont like that kind of stuff
think your diff was already on its way out befor you did a whole day of almost drifting every corner, my shitty diff seems to hold up just fine full on drifting every corner for a whole day and your diff should be just fine doing the same thing
what is wrong with your diff anyway?
wet track fail, why dont they just run it on a dry track?
i have never seen anybody break a diff because they kept both wheels spinning for a long time, maybe if you run no oil or some really bad oil in it then it will do that but the biggest killer is the shock from launchs, harsh gear changes and clutch kicks
most of the time something else will break befor then tho, like in my 180sx i would break the gearbox or the clutch would slip befor the diff let go
just bought a new router and having issues with servers not replying, i used to only get maybe 1-2 that didnt reply now im getting 20-30 every time (about half of the servers) , i'll get a reply from servers then when i refresh the list those same servers wont reply
port 63392 is open on my router, are there any other ports i need to open? or is there anything else i need to do?
have had this issue for awhile, when driving straight the wheel wants to seasaw left and right and doesnt stop in the center (like a real car would), i have to hold the wheel pretty firm to stop it from happening, its super annoying
it does it in both LFS and iracing tho it is alot worse in iracing because i run stronger FFB in it
running a lower offset rim on a drift car = being able to run more steering lock without the tyres hitting the chassis, seems like that is improving performance to me, i havent have any bump steer issues befor running lower offset rims tho the lower ive run is 0 (or at least i couldnt notice it)
i'll agree that most people that put low offset rims on there car dont care about performance and that isnt why they are putting them on there car, they put them on it because it looks 1000x better then rims that dont fill the guards
should say low offset, you want your offset to be low running low offset rims means u can have wider rims or more steering lock without the rim hitting the chassis, so not only does it look better when your guards are filled with some decent rims but it improves performance
stretched tires are pro for drifting, it stiffens the sidewall, less sidewall flex feels so much better in my experience + it allows you to run wider rims without the tyre hitting the guard if you dont want to run overfenders or bolt or flares
sif, i did a whole drift day last weekend on 2nd hand tyres and im still driving on them now :P will use them again next track day
doing stuff on the track is so much more fun then it is on the streets, you can push so much harder and learn so much more about driving, sif care about it causing extra wear to your car
played the demo in PC, sucks there is no wheel support in the demo and really hope there is in the full game, driving seems decent with the keyboard and i love the smoke, cant wait to get some better cars:P
people in Australia cry because the sound of a race track 40km away is to loud (tracks have been closed down because of it)
doesnt matter how he drives down his street, anybody here driving any kind of sports car or modded car is looked at like they are about to kill someone
plan on painting it white because the paint atm is pretty bad, havent driven it yet, need to put the lights back on it and raise the car abit because the exhaust is pretty much on the ground
+1 if they fix the terrible roads then this game will be really good, the off roading could be really good to if done right and i really hope that hardcore mode is unlocked right away:P
hope they make muscle cars abit better, they just feel so slow in the 1st
trying to us my G25 shifter and peddals with my Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo wheel, i plug both wheels into my computer and can get everything working together but there is no force feedback
