Quote from Woz :Sorry but what utter utter shite.

Are you saying that pushing a car to the edge of grip and holding it there so you get the absolute most out of the car on a lap does not take a huge amount of skill?

You must have ALL the world record lap times on LFS World by now. Being a drift king must mean you have mastered grip racing as that takes no skill compared to the demands of drifting. illepall

racing and drifting are 2 very different skills, both of wich are very hard to do at a high lvl

as for the AI, i think they need to get it a bit better befor they can even think about making the AI drift

Quote from dave4002000 :but wouldn't that make the XRT into the XRR? lol

i mean the same suspenstion,tyre's,ect as the XRT:P so it would only look different but handle and drive the same as the XRT:P

Quote from Jakg :you call 36 degrees "little"?

it's because irl road cars don't have that much lock, and LFS gives them more than they would usually have

Scawen once said that if you can find a car with more than 36 degrees of lock stock, in serious production, he will change it

it seem's like they have alot less tho, cant get any good angle when drifting(get alot more drifting in RL lol)
steering lock

why is there so little steering lock in the road cars?

i know there was more on the 1st S2 demo but why did they lower it? i can understand why the race car's have a low steering lock's but have no idea why the road cars have such little lock

Quote from Rotary :No more 4 bangers or turbo cars please... heres why (cut and paste from a pre-S2 post of mine in RSC):

Current S1 Cars

XF GTi - NA 4 - FWD
XR GT - NA 4 - RWD
XR GT Turbo - T 4 - RWD
RB4 GT - T 4 - AWD
FXO Turbo - T 4 - FWD
LX4 - NA 4 - RWD
LX6 - NA 6 - RWD
MRT5 - T 4 - RWD

New S2 Cars

UF 1000 - NA 4 - FWD
UF GTR - NA 4 - FWD
XF GTR - NA 4 - FWD
XR GTR - T 4 - RWD
FXO GTR - T 4 - AWD
FZ50 - NA 6 - RWD
FZ50 GTR - NA 6 - RWD
RaceAbout - T 4 - RWD
Formula XR - NA 4 - RWD
Formula V8 - NA 8 - RWD

Total FWD = 5 (2 S1, 3 S2)
Total AWD = 2 (1 S1, 1 S2)
Total RWD = 11 (5 S1, 6 S2)

Total 4 = 14 (7 S1, 7 S2)
Total 6 = 3 (1 S1, 2 S2)
Total 8 = 1 (0 S1, 1 S2)

Number of RWD 4 = 7 (4 S1, 3 S2)
Number of FWD 4 = 5 (2 S1, 3 S2)
Number of AWD 4 = 2 (1 S1, 1 S2)

Number of RWD 6 = 3 (1 S1, 2 S2)
Number of FWD 6 = 0
Number of AWD 6 = 0

Number of RWD 8 = 1 (0 S1, 1 S2)
Number of FWD 8 = 0
Number of AWD 8 = 0

Key:

NA = Naturally Aspirated
T = Turbo
4 = four cylinder engine
6 = six cylinder engine
8 = eight cylinder engine
FWD = Front wheel drive
RWD = Rear wheel drive
AWD = All wheel drive

Quote from Live for Sideways :There are many different styles of drifting. From what I have seen through the kyoto round one video, the IGP is the slower, accelerating "Hackies" style of drifting. Perhaps the D1 GP could be the on-the-edge high speed drifting (ie, none of that road normal tyre stuff) to contrast the IGP.

u mean less angle drifting? because thats what speed drifting is, u want to drift good u should balance out how much angle and speed u get for a good drift IGP is a good mix of both angle and speed

Quote from tristancliffe :Lol. People who say you can saefly rev an engine for 5 seconds with no load on it amuse me. With no load, the conrods are under messive stresses, and it will NOT be good for the engine.

i never said it was good for your engine

Quote from Huru-aito :Unfortunately I don't have DVD's about japanese drag racing, I guess the engines there are different. Normally running against the limiter isn't smart if you're seeking the highest performance possible since a rev limiter cuts fuel and/or spark and because of that the power output tends to decrease. Rev limiters are there to 1) protect the engine 2) limit revs temporarily to a certain level so ie full throttle can be used 3) limit speed.

But since I haven't seen jap drag videos I have no idea what I'm talking about

lots of those guys would also have aftermarker limiters that don't get so much so the turbo stays spooled when they are getting off the line

i would post a run or 2 of the DVD's but my internet has been slowed down lots for downloading to much

they also hit the limiter lots when drifting wich sounds great if u ask me

Quote from Huru-aito :Rev limiters aren't there to tell you when to shift. They are there to stop engines achieving dangerous rpms.

i have lots of DVD's with jap drag racing and lots of the racers there use the rev limiter to tell them when to shift it's fun to bounce off the limiter

i think they need to drop the rev limiter by like 1k on most cars, right now u lose all your power about 1k from the limiter and theres no point of having it that high

tho i would like to see a drift track based from a real one like nikko i know it's never going to happen
