Sometime it happens, more often I just have some nice flowing laps.
Track is wide, car is in control to inches, birds are singing, waterfall is cooking, wind sounds like beutiful violin music, SMACK!!! REAR END OF NOOB IS IN MY FACE! (this is my experience from SO)
But I like the flowing feeling, when you feel that you can make a slide in a highspeed turn but you wont loose control....
It's crashing online, im never racing offline...
I can race hour after hour, then suddenly it crashes when im driving.
Graphics freezes, sound loops, noway to go to windows desktop and that way I can wait as long as I want.
After that I can race for many hours again, that's the tricky one and there is no error messages or nothing.
Is there sometype of debugger or logger that I can activate?
I can't find the problem, everything freezes and I have to reboot my computer.
No messages or nothing...
I have updated all drivers before when I had two soundcards active it crashed more frequently, now it seems to crash once every day.
What did the guys do with the X version, I didnt have any problem with the other versions?
I had problems with freezing LFS becouse I had my internal and external audio card on.
After I turned the internal one of in bios the freezing was gone.
Do you have more than one soundcard?
Didnt find anyone in your list, but youll have one internal on your motherboard.
My PC has one internal and one external, I shutted down the internal one in bios and havent had any freezes since then... 2-3h driving.
This is making me so dissapointed, im not able to run LFS anymore.
It crashes after 5-10min, then It can be working for hours.
Before it killed my PC to reboot, but now after all updates I have done it "only" freezes and I have to switch (alt+tab) and wait to windows.
There is no error messages, this problem came after upgrade to version X.
I had no crashes with version W and before that.
That's all for me...
Didnt I read somewhere to disable internal Audio card if you have a external one...
Hmm... I have that, let's try...
LFS R.I.P or maybe not...
EDIT:
I think the sound card issue solved the problem, no crashes after I turned the internal card of in bios.
Is everyone with problems sitting on a AMD processor?
Im having crashing freezes too after X version, I have tested the X2 version too but same problem there.
Now Im testing this:
- AMD Dual-Core Optimizer = didnt help!
- upgrade to latest nForce graphic driver for my 8800GTS card. = didnt help
- turned off write combining = didnt help
- upgrade nForce 4 drivers = didnt help
Did you guys with problems have this on ConeDodgers servers or did the server have InSim messages?
Couse my problems dissapered when I went to another server... :S
The first thing that comes up in my mind is that ConeDodgers use InSim stuff...
Ok, I was on a server with 10ppl right now...
Computer freezed and then restarted, I have same applications on as before X.
I was monitoring my CPU and GPU temp, non of them was higher than idle.
Something weird is going on, I have been running X before today without problems...
But today I had 4 freezes already.
Thats why I wanted to call it an "option" ...
You could choose where to have focus point and how deep you want the DOF to be.
I can't see how it should work if LFS graphics engine is goint to decide where to put focus...
You have to decide that and how deep you want the dof to be.
And as an option you could turn it off.... I think it would eat GPU alot....
/Micke
PS. And offcourse it's eyecandy...
Ps2. If I had it I would put it on 1m deep and 1m infront of my hood.
Saw some pictures from bike simulator and they had used DOF ( depth of field) and it looks so nice...
I hope they implementate that option to LFS too...
Yup, I can admit that I found this thread becouse of the other thread but I would never have seen this thread else...
And Yes, he get's my support but still...
He makes really good driveble setups and has done that before I got involved with R4R... I have driven other good setups, but never known where they come from...
