Today the qualifying started. Use the CityLiga GridQuali A Server, password is in the first post of this thread. The results of qualifying can be seen here: http://ronaldg.net/public/cl/CL8-Hours/overview.php
Read the regulation section F for all informations about qualifying.
TL;DR: You got 15 timed laps. A lap is counted as soon, as you get your first split time in you timed lap, so outlaps wont be counted. Every driver in a team has to set a time. Quali ends 1st July 23:59 CEST.
Similar to last seasons final on Blackwood for the current season the decision for the championship is in the last race. This season even three drivers have the chance for the title. First P.Kubinji as championship leader with 2002 points followed by C.Winkler with 1977 points and Pete with 1953 points. The following scenarios must occur in the last race, so that these drivers are champions.
P.Kubinji will win if:
He is 11th or better while C.Winkler arrives 4 or less positions & Pete 9 or less positions in front of him
He is at least 4th, if C.Winkler should win
It is at least 8th, if Pete should win (and the first condition should also apply)
C.Winkler will win if:
He is worse than 7th, and simultaneously P.Kubinji 12th or worse & Pete 3rd or worse
He is at least 7th while P.Kubinji arrives 5 or more Positions behind him & Pete arrives 4 or less positions in front of him
He is at least 4th, if Pete should win
Pete will win if:
He is 2nd or better while P.Kubinji arrives 9 or more positions & C.Winkler 5 or more positions behind him
Also in the team championship there are more three battles for the positions 1, 4 & 7.
For positions one and thus the team championship are fighting Not A Team (1388 points), CoRe SimRacing 1 (1352 points) and [TC] Racing 1 (1310 Points).
For position 4 eXtrem Racing (852 points), [TC] 2 Racing (832 points) and INF! N! TY * Skills (813 points) are fighting.
For position 7 its also quite close between [TC] Racing 3 (656 points), BurnoutCrew # 1 (630 points) and Absolute Beginners Racing (629 points).

Track: Westhill National reversed [WE1R]
Cars: FOX
Qualifying Mode: 10 minutes timed with racefuel
Race Mode: 60 laps incl. a mandatory pit between lap 21 and 40 with change of the tyre softness (all 4)
Qualifying
During qualifying, all drivers will be allowed to to complete as many laps as they wish, but aren't allowed to jump back into pits with shift+p/s after they left the pits. When leaving pit lane, you may only enter the track after the end of the white pit exit blend line. Please make sure that you don't interfere with other drivers' qualifying laps when you're on an out lap. However, this does not mean that a slower driver must give way to a faster driver when they're on a timed lap themselves. It's every driver's responsibility to leave a reasonable gap to any cars in front of him before starting a hot lap himself.
Should a driver receive a penalty during qualifying (e.g.: a DT for pit lane speeding), then he has to serve the penalty at the earliest opportunity! Not serving the penalty will lead to the driver in question being moved to the back of the grid!
After the time has elapsed and all drivers have completed or aborted their final attempt, every driver is asked to park their car in their garages and to not go back out on track! The shift+p/s ban is still active after the end of qualifying.
Race
Just like in the first ever CL event in the year 1831, there will be a laglap before the actual start of the race. Durring laglap shift+p/s is still forbidden, violations will be penalized.
During the race, there will be a mandatory pit stop. For this stop there will be a lap window to do them. Stops outside this lap window won't count as mandatory pitstop. The earliest possible stop is in lap 21, the latest in lap 40. Decisive is the lap of pitentry. Also the change of tyre softness have to be done in this lap window. All 4 tyres have to be replaced.
Additional Information
Everyone is asked to respect the rules on chatting. During all sessions, chat is always automatically closed unless the race administrator opens it.
Due to the lack of admins for additional grids and since we are on the treshhold between two and three grids (with 67 active drivers), we decided to overcrowd the second grid like we already did last season. The experience of the last seasons showed us, that the probability for drivers not showing up for races in grid 2 is pretty high and that 32 startpositions should be still enough. Just in case there are more than 32 starters, we will expand the grid- & pitslots, and we also expanded the scoringsystem for this case.
I used the cmx2obj converter to get the obj-file(s) of the car. Within those files the geometry is described(vertices, tri's and normales) as well as the UV mapping, so what vertice corresponds with what coordinate on the texture. So the UV-Mapping is already in the files. I just opened the file with C4D and it also reads the UV-Mapping. So rendering a skin is possible without problems since the UV-Mapping is already done.
I then used Bodypaint 3D, a powerfull UV-Edit and Paint tool within C4D to project a image onto the 3D Model and let Bodypaint do its magic by reversing this projection back onto UV-Mapping.
If you ever did a more complex skins, with elements that went around certain edges, you know the problem. You fiddle around for ages to get the transition from one UV-patch to the next one as seamless as possible, with more or less satisfying results. Especially with the different stretch-factors for certain UV-patches this can be a pain in the ass.
When i used the LFS-Skin Viewer i always wished there would be a feature, where you just projecting a texture onto the 3D-model of the car and get back a corresponding skin. The difficulty lies within the transformation from the frontal-mapping of the projection into the UV-Mapping of the 3D Model. With the help of Cinema 4D and Bodypaint i was able to do this transformation:
+
=
With this technique the possibilities for complex skins with logos, pictures, etc. are huge. Especially for open wheelers with all those edges at the rear. My example is just a fast and sloppy one but i think its still impressive
Here the result, i know the render isn't the best, but i wanted a fast result. If you playing CS GO the theme should be familiar
I still work on the quality of the reversed UV-Texture. Its still a bit blocky and you need quite big pixel sizes to get a good result since there is a certain loss when transforming into the UV. But on the plus side, you dont need to mind the stretching. You just put on you texture as you would like to see it on the car and the rest goes automatically
After the winter break CL returns for its first 2016 season! CityLiga 22 will feature a 10 race calendar again, including (almost) all car classes and venues, even Rockingham! As usual, there will be a one-off endurance event after the end of CL22, but for now we've decided to keep the details to ourselves.
As at the beginning of every new CL year there are a number of rule changes. Due to the low levels of participation in the grid qualifyings between the blocks of races in season 20 and 21, they've been scrapped. Instead, we're returning to a revised promotion/relegation system in which a certain number of the best and worst drivers in a grid well be promoted and relegated respectively, based on their results in the last block of races. The GQ before the season to determine who ends up in which grid initially will remain as is. Since this is the first season to feature S3 content, drivers will need an S3 licence to participate in all rounds. S2 licenced drivers are also eligible, however, they will be unable to compete in any round that includes S3 content.
The calendar for season 22 looks like this: (Note: CET = GMT+1)
