Yet carcass temp is one that calculates grip.
Wouldn't it make more sense that surface temp is one used for it - as it's surface of rubber that has contact with tarmac?

If only Test Drive Unlimited (2) had LFS physics.. ahh...

While it's really nice calculation, it's missing quite a lot.
It shows effect of less mass a wheel has, but pure inertia is only one portion of energy needed to spend to accelerate car.
Add rolling resistance of tyre, and ofc - resistance of going thru air, etc, etc...
So in the end, difference is miniscule.
While it's interesting in scientific approach, in simulator case (such as LFS), it can easily be ignored.

I heard that messing with FOV can make you faster!
It's totally unrealistic and should be removed!!1!!!@!!!@2@!!!!!

Quote from bbman :Hold Ctrl + Shift with open F9 menu and you'll see the surface temperature...

You also see that tyre heating in LfS is clearly broken, as the core temp is trailing the surface temps only by a couple degrees...

Not only that... but at braking (as you can see in that vid too), tyre temp doesn't rise at all - it's only at cornering (with ctrl+shift).

Overall, this is my main issue with LFS tyre phicis - tyre heating/cooling and tyre grip related to temp (especially 'overheating').

It's perspective+camera angle.

Quote from CZRTuning :You might be right but i also doubt about it.

Not 'might' be right
I got Thrustmaster F430 FFB, and had to replace belt, so know how it looks inside.
You definitely are missing that part, and due to this your wheel has much more resistance to turn.

Your wheel was already opened, and wasn't properly fixed!!!!

You are missing one of tension bearing (ok, name might be wrong.. but not sure how it's called) on left side of motor!
To make it more understandable, you are missing thing circled in red, which exists where green is circled!

Do you run well when you are sick?
No. :doctor:

Well.. I'd say something is probably wrong with the wheel.
Use same wheel, and never had issues you mention!

Ha... he's right.
Tyre heat/cooling model and grip related to heat is crap.

However, overall feel of handling is something else.

Report: there is nothing to report.

Quote from Bose321 :Sorry, didn't know you were talking about your wheel.

Yup, was talking about my wheel.
My point was that Logitech has some 'bonus' due to better support from game makers compared to other wheels.

Quote from Bose321 :Can you give me some examples of these issues you're talking about?

NFS Shift 2 - centering force is not working as well overall feel is quite broken ( http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=247092 )
TDU2 - centering force not working

Interesting enough.. with version '1' of fore mentioned games, it works fine....

There is one more thing though.
And that's wheel driver support.
If driving only LFS - basically any wheel will work.
But, if you try some other games, you might run into driver/support issues.
In that department Logitech wheels are in best position though...

PS: I have Thrustmaster F430 wheel

Quote from Mountaindewzilla :We know LFS is in active development. Don't worry about it.

I suppose you know numbers for lottery winning numbers too?

No, we don't know, and you don't know it's in active development.
We hope it is.

.. then we'll have another fictional car

Quote from vistaman :Im getting mad when I have high fps, going on a cruise server and then the game just gives me 50-60fps instead of 200-300FPS. I feel the difference.

If you have standard LCD, anything above 60FPS will not give you any difference.
Your screen has 60Hz refresh rate.
Anything above means you are not using vsync, and just have screen tearing due to it.

simulations -> hard to play -> kids crash everywhere -> kids don't want to play -> less sales -> make game 'arcade' -> all n00bs can drive -> sales go up -> make more arcade 'simulations'

... a bit simplified how it goes
