Quote from Takumi_lfs :We don't even have the Rockingham yet and you already started to whine..

It's nice to see that you completely missed the point, especially one DrBen wrote.

Quote from MadCatX :Watching it on a larger screen makes the letter actually look like M. Anyway it's still 10 times more precise than LFS' current physics engine...

10 times only?
You cannot compare those 2 things.
LFS is realtime driving/racing simulation.

Comparing it to simulation of physics, as this is.. is simply not possible.
This was calculated/rendered in non-real time due to very complex amount of objects, calculations, etc, etc...

Wow... quite huge FOV's!!

I used to use 95 FOV on 20" 1680x1050.

But nowdays I use 90 FOV on 24" 1920x1080.
However, I am using also Nvidia 3D vision kit, which adds depth to game, and improves feeling of speed and distance of objects, corners, etc...
New test patch spinoff thread

First, think that original thread that Scawen made should be really kept clean of idiotic things, and kept on track to what he's implementing now.
So, best way is to have spinoff thread with all the mumbo-jumbo and other trash talk

Quote from Rynno666 :HKS_ERALD Go and **** yourself faggot . Go away if you dont like !!! Sry my words but its truth !!! We dont need this pricks here who who say this idioting things.

Scawen and other Devs are Super, i really respect they and waiting what happening next hehe Good Job guys.

Now... this is bollocks what you say.
HKS_ERALD does have a good point.

It's been a long, long time since any progress that we've seen has been made.

I do appreciate Scawen making these changes, and especially posts he made in last few days.

But, this is what should have been happening years ago too!!

My point is, if it continues like this, this is awesome way... and I sure hope it continues like this.

What I'm afraid of though is - this patch comes out, and silence again.. for years...

Scawen, would it be possible to have some quick-fix for SHIFT+S (aka, spectate)?

Often happens - especially if new user is connecting, that SHIFT+S can lag quite badly, and sometimes take upto some 15 seconds or so to actually spectate you.

If I spin, and want to hit SHIFT+S to spectate (and avoid ruining race for someone else), it can take really long for it to 'catch' that.

Is it possible to fix/improve that?

Quote from shashdev :UHHHHH, say wha?!!?!?!?! 2 new cars? I know about the Scirocco. What's the other one? Clearly I haven't been paying attention...

Fiat 500.

... and 500 doesn't mean 500PS :tit:

Quote from sinbad :People care, and the slightest glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel is always going to be blown out of proportion, I wouldn't bother trying to stop it

A pessimist sees a dark tunnel.
An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel.
A realist sees a train.
And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks...

There some really fast drivers with mouse/keyboard combo, so in that regard, you can be competitive.
But... without wheel, it's just not 'it'.
Really check e-bay or so for some used wheel.

As for 'is it worth? - yes it is.

Quote from Intrepid :Despite not having any investment or ownership of LFS, people think spending 20 or so pounds licences them to constantly tell the developers how to do their job. I am not sure what people think £20 actually entitles them to. Admittedly we've all done it at some time or another, but the internet & certain forum members should have matured enough by now that we've all learnt our lesson and 'grown up' a bit.

So... what does it entitle me that 20 pounds or so for?
Why wouldn't I be 'allowed' to voice my opinion here?
One thing is to come here and 'demand' something, other is to voice your opinion, which is apparently considered n most cases as 'moaning'.
For one, yes.. development is nonexistant for last few years.
Yes, I got what I paid for, and I got actually more than I paid for, if I take in account how much I played it.
But, wanting something *new*? Why is that 'wrong', or even 'wrong' to mention?!
We want to play this game, but as with any game, it does get 'old' with time, and requires refresh. Refresh which developers need to make. Refresh which we'll gladly pay to play.

So, in which part here we're not, apparently, entitled to comment upon this?!

There are moaners, but there are fanboys too.

@tristancliffe: Simple fact is, in LFS there hasn't been any update for way too long. I like the game, I play it, and I still enjoy it.
But, fact remains - there hasn't been any update for very long, and people who started playing before me, and/or play much more than me find it lacking. Driving same tracks&cars for so long does become boring.

While it is their project, and they decide what to do, we still have right to voice our opinions.
For me, I got way much more than what I paid for.
But, I'm also willing to pay more to get even more - alas, there ain't more to pay for. It's not like expect someone to develop more cars/tracks/improve physics/whatever just because me or anyone else asks for it.
But, as said... it's really way long without any real updates, and simple fact is that due to this community is slowly dying in numbers.
Yes, many will return once new content comes, but some wont. Is it good or bad thing? Judge yourself.

But, you mention rFactor2. What they are doing is great actually... and while you say 'they just started modelling tyre temps positions, etc...' - it's false, from link posted above you can see they have completely changed tyre physics, and are working also on other stuff, so hopefully soon they may roll rFactor2 out.
I really do hope it's good game. We need good sims.

So, instead of laughing at rFactor2, you may aswell rather encourage it.
Or maybe you just want to play S2 here.... forever...

First thing that crosses my mind is: oh noes... so many under-aged teenagers who wanna crash at everything that moves.
Next thing is same kids crying how 'hard it is'... and that it should drive more realistic, like TDU2 is.

Please understand that there's difference between simulation games and.. well.. rest of games

Velociround, you're joking, right?
Having driving *simulation* on *phone*????

No, thank you...

Actually, sudden crashes are most often due to buggy hardware.
And in most cases it's overheating issues.

But, it also can be Windows installation... especially if you upgraded some drivers.

*sigh*

Just create new setup with name 'test'.. tweak it all you want until you think it's what you need, and just rename it to something useful.

Wrong.

hazaky, I dont expect to get anything for free.
I would very gladly pay for S3 if it were out with new content. But it aint. So....

Does lack of updates for so long suck? Hell yea.

But, be honest... for cost of it, it really is best bang for buck you can get.
Pay once, play forever....

How much you just spent on your PC, etc... hell, only for wheel??
Way, way more that price of this game.. so yeah, looking how much you pay, and what you get is awesome.

PS: Did I mention lack of updates sucks?
