I believe they put the "PR responsible" person of the dev groups. Gjon is the one of the devs of rFactor who tends to post most.

Quote from KiDCoDEa :last i checked, it does. and even if it didnt, it would be valid.

I didn't say anywhere that it is not valid. I just said I find it annoying because it tends to make the votes biased. It's just a shame.

I wish that thing of "asking people to vote for LFS" in whatever place you can vote for LFS would be stopped.
Excuse me but it doesn't happen in other community forums. It creates a disparity in the number of people voting because more people in absolute numbers are aware they can vote for their sim in the LFS community than other communities. So it's almost sure LFS is gonna win because of this. I'd like to see fair, unbiaised results, with only (or pretty much) AutoSimSport readers voting, like what would normally happen.

At least if you're gonna do this, go in the other community forums at RSC and tell them to vote for their sim.

Quote from Bob Smith :Can I have some of the drugs you are taking?

Can I have your blindfolds?

Ok that's not nice. I'll get you a nice step-by-step tutorial to understand HOW to get the number of racers in a given country.
- type www.lfsworld.net in your browser
- log in with username
- double-click "LFS Racers database"
- In the "LFS Racers search" tab, use the drop-down box with the word "country" written besides it.
- Select the country called "Germany"
- Click "Perform the search"
- Wait a bit
- Read the line "10087 Search results:"

It can also tell you there are 2900 Canadian racers, 6634 from the UK, 9408 in USA, 3004 from Finland, 3516 Australians or 3800 French.....

So instead of making Boost's post sound stupid by making a drug comment because I don't know what he's talking about, I'll answer the question he asked: no, I don't believe that is only S2 racers. It most likely also counts demo and S1 racers.

Quote from XCNuse :hoot your horn lol? you mean toot? or when someone says toot do you think of the word.. fart

also.. shouldnt the wipers in the GTR cars be up and streamline with the car.. like all the fast cars do?
http://www.texasrxs.com/images/lemans%20787b.jpg
http://www.webwombat.com.au/mo ... ges/ferrari-fxx-big-1.JPG

list goes on but 2 should be enough

Think you're right about the wipers there. I think pretty much all racecars have only one wiper. Generally for weight saving purposes probably, and I'd guess it's centered when not used for aerodynamic purposes.

It depends, but I find when doing an AutoX course that a more relaxing music helps concentration.
Herbie Hancock - Chameleon for instance is good. Otherwise it depends of the mood.

That depends really. My LX6 runs better with something like 20-30% in the tank than 5-10%. So I leave it around 25% all the time even for short races.

But I do agree for the popup. I mean if you have like 10% in your XRR when you join a server and the race is 15 laps on KY3 you're never gonna make it so it's an obvious thing and a popup box could be an helpful reminder.

Quote from B2B@300 :Your free to disagree but I guess we all interpret things differently so discussion is always a good thing

Yeah the difference is that YOU interpreted something he didn't write, whereas Boosterfire's room is approximately 2 meters away from mine and I can talk to him in person if I want. So you can interpret as much as you wish (which is done plenty in this forum, even with clear posts from devs), but I was just telling you what Boost actually was saying (and what he explained in person).

Ah it looks like this thread is informative
I didn't know about a "differential bug".

Here. It's supposed to be a P Zero Corsa replacing the road supers.

Just commenting on the Bimmer here:
Looking at your wireframe shot, you're relying too much on the meshsmooth. Some parts should be made by hand completely.
Also, you have (had?) too much "flaps" on the hood vents. There are 7.

Quote from B2B@300 :what your suggesting is a structure not much different to what they initially escaped from

I absolutely don't see where he suggests anything as such. What the devs escaped is the big money standard game production business model where you get a bunch of 40 people working on a game with financing for the time allowed to produce the game (which is why there is a deadline).

What Boost suggests is essentially to make small patches of one feature alone (no matter how small that feature may be) just to calm the unhappy part of the community down. And if you ask me it sort of makes sense cause it would most likely calm down people who want new stuff quicker.

Quote from Shotglass :happe birthday tiny and nick

jeez it must suck to have your birthday and christmas that close ^^

Well it all depends how you see it.
It either completely sucks or is very nice. It sucks because there's nothing for the rest of the year. On the other hand, you can arrange stuff when asked and say you prefer a bigger xmas gift instead of 2 smaller ones

Need to add the ball to the suggestions in misc category.

Would it be hard? I mean it would just be like some sort of tire physics on a textured sphere object! It's a big ball, it can be made out of rubber after all. Heck we could even adjust pressure if we can adjust the size Now THAT would be fun.
I'd certainly host car football events like that

But you suck Tiny. Today is MY b-day
Have a good one anyways

Errr.....it's not a PR stunt. Of course it looks like it because it's true that they of course want to sell more diesels. However, the ACO regulations give an advantage to vehicles powered by "other" fuels (diesel, bio-ethanol).

Bi-turbo is indeed another name for twin-turbo.

So they will use TC and will have no problem whatsoever with their insane torque (compared to the weight of the car). This thing will win LeMans.
Now hoping for the time the manufacturers will go back to LeMans and ALMS will get a better coverage on TV here.

I guess they won't use it in low gears. In fact they probably can't use that much torque in low gears. I'd take a guess they tuned the thing so the turbo gives that torque in higher revs, so to avoid spinning the wheels too much the drivers would just have to shift up a bit earlier. That said, isn't TC allowed by the ACO?

Anyways, wether you want it or not, it's Audi, so unless someone else has already decided to go to LeMans in 2006 but keeps it secret (but it's not very likely, they are all stuck in F1 right now, which sucks), they will most definitely win the 24 hours, and probably the 12 hours of Sebring too if they take part.

They most certainly know it will provide them no fuel economy over opponents if it's the case. How about they went ahead with the diesel idea because if they do the rules allow them to use a 5.5 litre engine WITH turbo and then have over 1100Nm of torque? That's over 810lb-ft.
I thought that previously you were either allowed a 6 liter NA or a 4 litre turbo engine. Then maybe with diesel you can be allowed a high displacement with turbo?

Which is nice. It proves the turbo physics is no hack but works as it would in real life. Except that in LFS the turbo pressure climbs slower the more you rev whereas in reality it should go faster the more you rev since with higher revs you have higher exhaust pressure. Still it's nice to know that it basically works like in reality Go LFS! Can't wait for physics patches

They don't want the devs to do "what they want". They just suggest a way to improve the product faster.
Now it would just be nice if people around here could realise that LFS IS a product. There seems to be some kind of denial of that when I read things like "you don't understand what LFS is about". Yes everyone does, everyone knows there's something behind LFS other than money as opposed to other titles, but that doesn't make it something else than a product in the game industry.
LFS so far does very good for a 3 men show, but I, like others, believe it might be time to get someone else to join the show, a coder probably. Maybe part time I don't know and ideally from this community so he understands that "spirit of LFS" we hear so much about. The thing is that what I see coming in the future is an opponent sim that would have the same kind of features of LFS like tire deformation, a great mp code, great physics, synthesized sounds, a LFSW counterpart and other things, but that would have been made in about a year's time by a company of 40 persons and therefore would include more complete sounds and a DX9 (or maybe DX10 by then) gfx engine as well as, for example, support for 30+ cars in a race. If that happened, it would kind of be the same thing as LFS S3, but right now. Only downpoint would be them devs probably not taking part in the community......but then again you'd be surprised to know in the modding community of rF we chat with the devs very often....and I believe they listen to us for their next patches.

My votes:
Best sim - LFS
Physics - LFS
Graphics - GT Legends
Sound - GT Legends
Multiplayer - LFS
Editable - rFactor
Suprise - GT Legends (I didn't know it was to exist before I saw the newspost on RSC saying the demo was released)
Promising - NK Pro
Mod - F3 Mod for rFactor
Flat tire - LFS (I have lots of fun with LFS and voted it best sim too because it's what I decided to play, so there must be a good reason to play it, but it disappoints me because I think it could already be much better than it is now)
