The site is down because Ricin has been/is moving. Strange time of year to move you might say but Ricin is Ricin. Last I checked he wanted to get the site back soon. I don't know much more than that honestly about the site.
I can tell you however that yes, NAL is coming back for season 4.
I can also tell you that we will be better organized with clear penalties, that there will be a manager application and that the site will automatically get updated for points and standings. That means normally we're only gonna have to write newsposts
- Real auto transmissions stay on their "1st gear" when on [D], even when the car stands still.
- With real auto transmissions there is a [N] (neutral) position that exists. I guess it's there for a reason, like reving if you want it.
- Real auto transmissions have a [R] position, whereas R stands for "reverse". I will make a guess that it's there for a good reason and that there is also a good reason for the reverse not to engage automatically when the brakes are pressed....
- LFS wants to simulate reality
- LFS should:
A. simulate a real auto transmission (only suggestion about auto that should exist in this forum)
B. scrap the whole concept of auto, even as an assist. Either we get the real thing simulated or we get only manual and manual sequential gearbox.
I wish that thing of "asking people to vote for LFS" in whatever place you can vote for LFS would be stopped.
Excuse me but it doesn't happen in other community forums. It creates a disparity in the number of people voting because more people in absolute numbers are aware they can vote for their sim in the LFS community than other communities. So it's almost sure LFS is gonna win because of this. I'd like to see fair, unbiaised results, with only (or pretty much) AutoSimSport readers voting, like what would normally happen.
At least if you're gonna do this, go in the other community forums at RSC and tell them to vote for their sim.
Ok that's not nice. I'll get you a nice step-by-step tutorial to understand HOW to get the number of racers in a given country.
- type www.lfsworld.net in your browser
- log in with username
- double-click "LFS Racers database"
- In the "LFS Racers search" tab, use the drop-down box with the word "country" written besides it.
- Select the country called "Germany"
- Click "Perform the search"
- Wait a bit
- Read the line "10087 Search results:"
It can also tell you there are 2900 Canadian racers, 6634 from the UK, 9408 in USA, 3004 from Finland, 3516 Australians or 3800 French.....
So instead of making Boost's post sound stupid by making a drug comment because I don't know what he's talking about, I'll answer the question he asked: no, I don't believe that is only S2 racers. It most likely also counts demo and S1 racers.
Think you're right about the wipers there. I think pretty much all racecars have only one wiper. Generally for weight saving purposes probably, and I'd guess it's centered when not used for aerodynamic purposes.
It depends, but I find when doing an AutoX course that a more relaxing music helps concentration.
Herbie Hancock - Chameleon for instance is good. Otherwise it depends of the mood.
That depends really. My LX6 runs better with something like 20-30% in the tank than 5-10%. So I leave it around 25% all the time even for short races.
But I do agree for the popup. I mean if you have like 10% in your XRR when you join a server and the race is 15 laps on KY3 you're never gonna make it so it's an obvious thing and a popup box could be an helpful reminder.
Yeah the difference is that YOU interpreted something he didn't write, whereas Boosterfire's room is approximately 2 meters away from mine and I can talk to him in person if I want. So you can interpret as much as you wish (which is done plenty in this forum, even with clear posts from devs), but I was just telling you what Boost actually was saying (and what he explained in person).
Ah it looks like this thread is informative
I didn't know about a "differential bug".
Just commenting on the Bimmer here:
Looking at your wireframe shot, you're relying too much on the meshsmooth. Some parts should be made by hand completely.
Also, you have (had?) too much "flaps" on the hood vents. There are 7.
I absolutely don't see where he suggests anything as such. What the devs escaped is the big money standard game production business model where you get a bunch of 40 people working on a game with financing for the time allowed to produce the game (which is why there is a deadline).
What Boost suggests is essentially to make small patches of one feature alone (no matter how small that feature may be) just to calm the unhappy part of the community down. And if you ask me it sort of makes sense cause it would most likely calm down people who want new stuff quicker.
Well it all depends how you see it.
It either completely sucks or is very nice. It sucks because there's nothing for the rest of the year. On the other hand, you can arrange stuff when asked and say you prefer a bigger xmas gift instead of 2 smaller ones
Would it be hard? I mean it would just be like some sort of tire physics on a textured sphere object! It's a big ball, it can be made out of rubber after all. Heck we could even adjust pressure if we can adjust the size Now THAT would be fun.
I'd certainly host car football events like that
Errr.....it's not a PR stunt. Of course it looks like it because it's true that they of course want to sell more diesels. However, the ACO regulations give an advantage to vehicles powered by "other" fuels (diesel, bio-ethanol).
So they will use TC and will have no problem whatsoever with their insane torque (compared to the weight of the car). This thing will win LeMans.
Now hoping for the time the manufacturers will go back to LeMans and ALMS will get a better coverage on TV here.
