Get a board and two screw clamps and put the G25 to it. The board has to be placed below the desk´s lip in order to press it up against the table while steering. I am playing this way and it´s works well.
It´s a fast machine for gaming. But you could choose CL 5 RAM, instead of CL 4, because the performance leap is minimal, choose 4 GB of CL 5 RAM instead.
The simple ASUS P5Q should be enough.
If you don´t want to overclock the E8400 cpu, which is unnecessary at the moment, could be purchased boxed, i.e. with the standard cooler.
By the way, I have a E8400 and the P5Q and it´s running fine!
I changed my monitor setup from 22 " 1680x1050 to 15 " 1024x768 and 22 " 1680x1050. (E8400, 8800 GT).
Since nvidia´s dualview only allows to set two identical resolutions and I need a high resolution on the 22 " I tried forcing the 15 " to 1536x768.
The distortion in LFS is definitly there, but the immersion is incredible!
I can run almost every other game in 3072x768 including COD4, GTR2, RBR mostly at 60 FPS. How is that? Even Crysis is running at 20-25 FPS, but feels like 30.
Anyone using this weird resolution? Is there a way to split the screen resolutions to 1024x768 + 1680x768 which would be the horizontal size?
Changed the resolution to 2732x768 giving less distortion.
The 3rd round was really disappointing. 8 racers out of 20 listed on Kyoto national. Very boring, because almost everyone was going on his own, like hotlapping.
My 8800 GT used to produce flickering even using 16x AF, 8xQ AA. I tried nhancer AA today and found out that 8SQ mode is a superior solution against flickering + offering supersampling which isn´t supported by the nvidia control panel.
I´m sorry, but I won´t make it to the first session. Btw. Sunday would be a much more suitable race day. I´ll try to make it next week. Who´s staying at home on Saturdays?
I wouldn´t call that misleading advertising, because the graphic chip is clearly named as "nvidia 7050", which is an integrated solution. The fact
that it´s call "chip" instead of "card" makes the difference imho.
Did I get it right, when I start in 5th place in a 20 cars grid, it´s my fault when someone behind drives into me, when I take the corner just the right way?
Sorry, but a bit too simple. Even at Blackwood people rush into me in T1 and there is pretty much place to avoid crashing.
I decided to join a league to avoid T1 crashing all the time...
