Yay, i'm not the only steam nerd! Every year i go to somerset with my grandparents, and every year i go on the west somerset railway with gramps, and every year i take too many photos! Maybe i'll post some when i get back (go in the summer hols, july some time i think). For now, here are some shots from my holiday in italy, taken on my brand new olympus tough 8000! (although the first one isn't in Italy!) Be nice!
p.s. Sam H, is that the Severn Valley Railway? (I'm not so good with the geography :razz
EDIT: the photos aren't uploading...can anyone tell me why not?
OH MY GOD, THANK YOU! you've just said in 1 post what it took the rest of us 13 pages to establish (well, apart from the 1st page or so that was actually on topic!). i really hope that this intelligent, thought out post (without any insults, you may have noticed) will stop this argument from going any further. although i appreciate the homosexual connotations dadge implied about tristan's love for "chocolatey goodness", i think we've reached the argument limit for one thread
"you're just a f***ing turd" lol! seriously the "comeback" was probably as bad as the original thing, only at least i could hear it. i think i'll stick to mainstream stuff, that was just embarrassing.
Dwb, what are your first impressions of the tough 8000? I'm loving it so far, and will post a review taking into account the various mode when i get back from staying in the mountains in italy - a good test of its capabilities!
thanks. although it'll sound stupid, has anyone got a good set i could use? there are only about 2 of that combo on those sites and i'm always a bit dubious about downloading them without a "seal of approval", so if anyone has a set that is fast but not impossible to handle that'd be great. i'm also working on getting out of the way safely on blue flags!
also i'll PM the MMS organisers tomorrow to clarify the situation - i'm not sure if they realise just how inexperienced i am ATM.
did my last one (18th exam!!!) on monday, but get my results on the 27th of August .
GOOD LUCK TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVN'T GOT THEIRS YET! and congrats Bose on your grades i'm hoping for all passes, and maybe a couple of A*'s, but not getting hopes up too much because that's just asking to do badly!

hi, i'm practising for the MMS Cup (only got S2 yesterday), and have been trying out the XFG on FE (is it FE? it's Fern Bay but people seem to call it that:shrug. i've attached a replay, so if anyone could give me some feedback that'd be great
