If you don´t want to use 2 gfx cards at the same time (SLI or Crossfire) the KN8 will do the same job for half the price
BUT: If you are planning to upgrade a second gfx card later....choose some SLI board

Hm, the board is the overkill, the "normal" Abit would do the same job for less money (you pay the fatal1ty bonus, you know ^^)
Even XP Home will do the job, as long as you don´t want to join a domain ^^
The 64 version is incomplete, I can´t recommend using it.
CPU: AMD!! Faster for your money! (socket 939, 3200+ or better 3500+)
RAM: 1 GB for "normal" use, 2GB for Battlefield 2
Board: the Abit mentioned up there is ok ^^
GFX: yop, geforce 6600gt and above (I´d recommend a faster 6800gt
)
HDD: I love Samsung, not the absolutely best in performance (but up top) but very quiet

There are some ppl in the german forum also with a similar proble (both S2 licensed and demo racers)

My Momo Force does that in the demo too
But I ordered the game. I didn´t buy GTR but this one seems interesting...I´ll buy GTR for a budget price though.
GTL has great cars, the sound is very nice.

But since the graphics card seems to be the problem it may be a good idea to test a proper video card for PCI express instead of PCI.
Some of the PCI cards cause problems.

No, this board does not have onboard video. Maybe this board doesn´t even support PCI gfx...

Yeah, LFS needs a touring car class
Everytime I watch the WTCC races I think how cool it would be to have a car class like these in LFS
They have slick tires, no extravagant aerodynamics etc which allows close racing
