Maybe related to your ATI AA mod?
Otherwise try another driver.
If that doesn´t help it might be an overheating video core which can produce this checker pattern as well.

A nice try: locked diff
Works well under braking and can help to reduce front wheel temps as well.

Try to install a clean Windows on a different partition if possible.
Then the latest drivers and a NEW (!!) LFS without your old configs.
If this works as slow as your current sys you can be sure it´s a hardware problem.
But I´d say it´s driver or OS related, so try to install a test system if possible.
