Hello,

Thank you for your suggestion. I see what you mean about the logo being stretched - though I didn't notice till you pointed it out.

Also I think i'm going to rework the gold because it doesn't quite match up all around the car (I used the Gold Metal gradient fill in PSP).

Finally I'm thinking of moving the SUPERKINGS name from the rear bumper to the wing and maybe putting a Government health warning in its place (to semi-satisfy the prohibitionists )

I had an epiphany last night (this morning) in my sleep about the use of the master skinnerz wire frames, so I may try and neaten up the lines across the body.

I'm off to work in ten minutes so i'll have a go at this tonight and post my next workings sometime.

Thank you.

After much playing around with skinning and lots of reading I think i'm starting to get a bit better.

My latest attempt is of the SUPERKINGS cigarettes from the evil corporation called Imperial Tobacco.

This is my first attempt at some intricate, semi-neat wrapping - the front fenders were schweines.

Comments, suggestions, tips, flames all welcome here.

Thank you.

What i'd do personally is, find the cheapest retailer that sell these new and then see what the final price is likely to be near the end of the auction. If the auction price is close to the new retail price i'd buy it brand new because that way you get a warranty and satisfaction that if something goes wrong you can send it back. However, if it seems to be going extremely cheap compared to its retail price then if something does go wrong you don't loose much money.

When I bought my G25, people were selling used ones on ebay for about 50UKP cheaper than retail (approx 100USD cheaper). I bought mine new because I beleive paying that extra 50UKP for something that has warranty is worth it.

So unless it goes for an extremely silly bargain price, it may be worth buying one new, so that way if it brakes after a month of use you can send it back and get a replacement.

Anyway, like I said, these are just my beliefs, and I have a fairly strict buying strategy anyway (i'm tight with my money - I get moths flying out my wallet when it gets opened).

Your as good as me. My best time (though I haven't practiced much anymore on that track) is 1.12, so the only advice I can really offer after watching your reply is "practice".
I haven't had S2 for long (about a month), and had my wheel set for about 2 weeks, so haven't had much time to practice. I normally race on the Aston Club track, and my best time is 1.03, and can't seem to budge it up - average is 1.05.

I'd be interested to see advice myself because you drive like me

The FOX is a great car.
Maybe you are applying too much throttle while cornering?
I've found that you have to get the car back in a straight line before applying throttle otherwise you just spin out.

Just apply extremely light throttle while going round the corner - just enough to keep you moving steadily around the bend, and then when your wheels are straight, floor it and all should be good. Too much throttle around the corners and you'll just spin out.

Keep practicing and eventually you'll get a feel of how to control the car and the way it handles.

OK, I know this isn't small, but if you can get your hands on an old Overhead Projector and an old TFT, you can make a pretty decent projector. I haven't tried this as I don't have the room to project an image that big though would love to try some day.

OK. Firstly, I am not a lawyer.

In regards to speed guns used by UK Police, there are certain strict regulations that they must follow. AFAIK, the gun has to be fixed (via tripod or other fixed means - as handheld guns can produce inaccurate readings as the operators hand slightly moves when taking the reading, thus invalidating it). Also, the speed gun used must have been tested that day, and if you ask they should provide you with a certificate of approval. The PC operating the gun must be wearing high vis clothing - he must be clearly visable - not hiding in the back of a van in darkness. There must be signs (showing that "safety" cameras are in use - the little black speed camera sign).

Also you may want to check to see if the signs along that road are as "prescribed" by regulation. For example, the first change in speed - a new sign, eg. from 40 to a 30 (the first 30 sign), if placed on a primarly or trunk road, where the sign shown in diagram 670 (statutory speed limit) is placed within 50 metres of a lamp powered by electricity which forms a system of lighting where 3 or more lamps are placed no more than 183 metres apart (differs in Scotland), then the sign shall be illuminated by means of internal or external lighting, blah blah blah.

All this traffic sign business can be found in the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (Statutory Instrument 2002/3113) - http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2002/20023113.htm

If you find the signs are "non-prescribed" then they are void. Infact they are unlawful and highway authorities that errect signs not prescribing to regulations are "acting beyond their powers". Non-prescribed signs can be classed as "obstructions" of the highway.

There's a very nice piece of case law, the case of "Davies -v- Heatley [1971] R.T.R 145" which basically states that if a sign is non-prescribed then contravention of the "sign" cannot constitute an offence even if the "sign" is clearly reconisable by a reasonable man as a sign of that kind.
The case of "MacLeod -v- Hamilton [1965] S.L.T 305" also deals with the legality of "non-prescribed" lines.

As for the factual ins and outs of speed guns, i'm not 100%, but i'll have a look through my archives to see if I can fish out any case law which may help you.

As you said though, no camara, no evidence, and that's your best argument - "I was doing the speed limit officer unless you have evidence to the contrary".

BTW, I do not condone illegal speeding, only safe speed.

Heres a couple of my first skins, and be warned, i'm not a graphic designer.

The UF1 skin is finished IMO - though I could try wrapping the paint work neatly around the body, something to learn and work on. The FZR skin is definately not finished - I need some ideas, but not sponsor decals please!

[edit] Yes I know it's the wrong forum for the UF1, and also i'm sorry I forgot to put car type in title - can't edit title though [/edit]

With the FZR skin, I was thinking of some NFS Ricer lightning down the side. The CF tailgate was a right schweine to line up, but I think it looks alright.
What goes well with Orange?

Any comments or suggestions please. Thank you.

Very nice. Looks good for a first. As for the colour, it does seem a tad more pale than the image of the bike, but that could just be the lighting effects.

Other than that, nice and clean.

Hello hello. Another new member here. I've been licensed for a few weeks now. Initially I started using a keyboard on the demo and then I acquired a gamepad and decided to purchase S2, and now i've splashed out on a G25 all because of LFS!
Now I fear that i'm going to loose my job and my social life.

Anyway, take it easy people.
