The man is a liar and a cheat, hardly surprising that he's a good buddy of gormless George, who also lied and cheated his way into office.
Supposedly he wants the presidency to speak for and unite Europe, ha fat chance, look what he left behind in the UK - another ten million people on this cramped tiny island of ours.
Then introducing faith schools for kids, and we all know how faith unites people around the world don't we?.
That right Tony, seperate our children, brainwash and bring them up in their own clans which have no time or understanding of other peoples point of view, - storing massive problems up for the future, but hey what does he care?
Get the payoffs and backhanders from his business and religeous friends then leave and let someone else clear his crap up.
He was voted in as prime minister by 40% of the 40% of the UK who could be bothered to vote - hardly a resounding endorsement of our political system and Tony in particular is it?
Well..., interesting comment, - who exactly are the people who can't drive anymore?
How do you identify them - is there a test - should there be - what is your criterion?
Its not that I disagree with you, but how high should the standard be?
For example - an Apache helicopter pilot (apparently) can fly a helicopter, whilst looking at the cockpit screens and his normal viewable environment with one eye - whilst the other eye is looking through a lens for potential targets and threats in infra red, whilst at the same time giving information or orders to the ground.
Yet we as car drivers get hung for using a mobile phone whilst driving a car because we apparently cannot concentrate on both safely.
This indicates to me that we need more training as drivers to be safe drivers, and if we cannot perform this sort of task - perhaps also whilst reversing into a gap between two park cars at the same time, then you should not be given a license.
The driving test is far too easy, and is mostly given to people who are not ready to accept the responsibilty to have one, (including myself).
Sure I had the ability to drive competently as I worked in motor garages from 9 year old, but I was over confident and sometimes (most times) drove like an ****.
The only thing I can say in my defence is that when I past my test there was only about 30% of the cars that are on the roads now.
So again who do you think is not fit to be a driver and why?
Well - looks like this thread is done now, but what a ride for me.
Have to say i found it a very interesting read and also chasing up most of the links posted here.
One in particular introduced me to Pat Condell, - a guy that speaks my mind for me in a way that I can totally relate to.
I like Richard Dorkins and have much respect for him, but Pat is more my kind of guy
Pat has about 34 short vids on youtube - look him up, good for a laugh no matter what your beliefs.
"- image shows that my chassis can take nearly half a ton on the wheelmount"
Has a slightly different context I think, -
No, being able to take that sort of weight is - probably over the top I agree, as I said before.
Its not about the weight carrying ability, but the weight does indicate strength and most of all stiffness and If I want a realistic feel from my controls then they have to be fixed to something as stiff as a real car body - or as near as possible.
That way, when I ditch my G25 for some high end stuff, the feel of realism will be much richer.
That whole wheelmount assembly is very heavy to, further enhancing the feel of solidity and realistic mass, - so yes to me - it is something you need.
I'm thinking of getting an ECCI control set but I've not made my mind up yet,
Users tell me go for it, but I dunno without FF, because without FF then I won't get the best from the chassis.
So I'm thinking whilst I'm getting on with my reasonably good G25, I'll just hang on for a while and see what new stuff develops.
Maybe sometime I may get a chance to test a VPP wheel, we'll see...
Left foot braking is a skill that takes no time to get used to - and its invaluable in most racing disciplines.
If you cannot do it then you have a disadvantage in most cases.
It feels very very strange for a short while, but soon you don't notice you are doing it (I run with a G25).
With the FZR, I only use the clutch when moving from a standstill, so when racing I can manage brake with my left foot and blip the gas with my right foot when changing gear.
Ah thats where I presume months of testing will tell the full srory -
Your eraser rubber may give acceptable results in LFS, - but it will not work properly in most other games, specially GTR 2 - GTL - Race etc.
Your Eraser rubber is far too hard and will not allow the full pedal stroke which is required in these games.
Also how will it have stood up after a few thousand compressions?
Let us know how it is performing after you have used it for some time.
I would describe the seating and pedal position in my Nixim as a the perfect sports car driving position.
Heel and toe driving is no different to that of your Mazda or Porche or Ferrari - heck I am using a G25 and H&T is second nature especially in games like GPL or GTL.
What makes H&T more difficult, is not having a progressive pressure to the brake pedal to work from, not your actual seating position - though with rubbish pedals it may help if you had an unrealistic driving position - like sitting as if you were drivng a truck.
The quality and feel of your pedals are the make or break for heel and toe driving, - not your actual seating position.
Dam no santa too eh? - explains a lot.
I'll comfort myself with the Fairy's, they have to exist cos they make up all the Fairy story's.
Taking an overview, everything is just a bit behind schedule but definitely well in progress.
Sea levels rising, Ice caps and glasiers disappearing faster than David Blane can make a London bus disappear, Extraordinary weather conditions around the globe breaking records year on year.
Unlike religious folk, I really hope that I am wrong - for the sake of my grandkids, and all our kids.
But you can't get away from what is real and happening right now 24/7 and at a constantly accelerating rate.
I could write a book, - but a post will have to do, hopefully contributing to a dam good thread (im(h)o).
My thoughts - Cults - religions whatever is plain and simple brainwashing.
We are simply a pack animal and some of us are responding to an instinct, thats all most of us do.
And a pack animal has a single leader who is the one and only leader and is more powerful than the rest.
Substitute pack leader for god and some mental conditioning and there you go
If you are born into an already religious society then your thinking may just be a little influenced as you grow up.
I remember going to church as a kid, every sunday - smartly dressed, rain or shine we were there, and I loved beltin out "onward christian soldiers", made me feel really good.
But for me you know, God really blew it when yet again, when I was even 11 years old for chrisake, - I did not get a bicycle for Christmas.
Can you imagine how this effected my beliefs? - the amount of praying I did for that bike, and I really would have been a good boy too .
But the thing was that now I no longer had a god to worry about (and it took a while to get used to), my mind was now fully open to anything, good bad or ugly, and I find what I think is the truth from as much info as I can collect.
Global warming, well call me a crank here bookmark this post for as long as the electricity's on.
I'm 54 have watched things changed massively in my life, when I was a kid the world was a big place, and it took three days to arrange a short expensive telephone call to someone around the world - that big.
Now here I am talking to many all over the world at the same time - who'd have believed it eh?
But you lnow we are also the most stupid of species - we all know that surely?
I look at the way our natural environment is changing whilst most of us ignor it and get on with our own shit.
I'm no longer listening to what anyone else is saying now, I just looking at the evidence of what is actually happening, and in forty years we gone from
Global warming ............eh?
to
Global warming is now happening at a much faster rate than previously predicted.
I don't know but it scares me if I look at the changes, and the rate of acceleration in the changes in all things around the world, I honestly believe that we have well past the point of no return, and we are all dead men walking, I reckon 25 years tops, but law and order such as it is, will break down long before then.
It does not matter what you I, India or China do, this thing essentially started as we became industrialised as a species, its took a hundred years to get moving at the pace that it is, - it aint gonna stop soon is it?, no matter what we do.
Don't want to sound defeatist or miserable, but thats how I feel, with a free mind and a lot of unbiased studying of the subject.
You only have to spare the time to look, if your god will let you.
Thats the thing - we don't all have force sensitive brake peds or even progressive pedals -which is all thats needed really.
With a standard set of DFP pedals its handy to be able to adjust the brake power in order to prevent lockups, - simply because you have little pedal feedack on order to prevent it.
I have a modded brake pedals on my G25 (Nixim G25 brake mod), so I have a good feel of exactly how much pressure I apply to my brakes without locking.
I see no problem in anyone adjusting to achieve the easiest braking and do not see it as any form of cheating - as it is what a real team would be trying to do anyway.
Presumably we all want more and more people to take part in our sport which will lead to more events that can be watched as a spectator.
Mika said that there was around 6000 people hooked into the livestream to watch the race - which I found very impressive.
But I have to wonder how many of them 6000 would have watched if they knew that it was likely that cheating was going on - and the cheaters were getting away with it?
I as a spectator to the event find all this most disheartening, I thought it odd when Mika said all but five teams had experienced some disconnection.
But then I thought that being penalised for one lap was fair under the circumstances, but now I find that even this is used to cheat and negate a more severe penalty of poor engine performance etc.
This has really taken some of the enjoyment out of the event for me, and will certainly now make me suspicious when it happens at the next event - which I will surely be watching, but with tempered feelings now.
I hoped the guys taking part were of a more sporting - rather than cheating nature .
I also hope that something can be done to prevent this sort of thing in future races - or I might just not bother watching anymore - shame on you guys.
