Quote from dev :uphill or downhill doesn't really matter...

Well of course it doesn't, you can just go reverse and it will go the other way?
+1 for a mountain road. With time trial races The way togue is done (or what I have seen) is 1v1, where 1 person starts behind on the uphill, and the other person then starts behind on the downhill. The fastest time with both ways added together wins

Quote from marzman :Maybe you should read your own post what i reacted on. You were talking about modeling, not how it rides

You have misunderstood the modelling part By modelling, he meant the physics.

It has already been explained why it's faster.. Slipstreaming on the straight makes a lot of difference in some cars, less in others (like XFG/XRG).
Also, hotlaps are checked with HLVC, which makes cutting corners practically impossible in valid laps.

This reminds me, I tried rFactor again recently because a friend suggested trying out BRKart.. God awful.

Umm, yeah, actually.. D3D 8.0 introduced vertex and pixel shaders, which makes it a lot easier to do things like per-pixel lightning (which is awesome).
D3D 9.0 introduced, as the most important features, a much improved HLSL, floating-point texture formats (HDR), multiple render targets (rendering the same thing to several places with one call).
Version 10 added, most importantly, shader model 4.0.

Sorry, I couldn't resist proving you wrong.. A higher D3D version certainly gives much added capability for good graphics. By upgrading alone, you achieve nothing. But with more work, it can be done.

I believe the difference in handling is quite a lot down to the center of gravity. The MRT has the rollcage stuck on top, which means a much higher CoG.
But it's okay, the MRT is not a kart, and shouldn't handle like one

Sometimes, I really do wish for nothing but a good kart simulator!

Quote from XCNuse :they limit the speeds to 55mph

You can't be serious? I must have misunderstood that

I kind of doubt it, track days are usually considered as a technical driving course more than racing, and thus it's aimed at people with driving licenses and their own cars.

You can upgrade to S2 from S1, for the same price as S1. That's the same price as S2 would have cost you from the beginning Just go to buying site and find it

My suggestion is to get S2, there's loads of servers for S2. The S1 license is basically useless.

Wait, I thought stiffer suspension preloaded more grip on that end? But loses it faster also.

Yeah, honestly, I've been a fan of various arcade driving games for a few years. Discovering LFS soon changed that, and now it's practically the only thing I play. I haven't even been able to get myself to play the last 3 NFS games (okay, they were crap anyway), and GRID was fun for a while, but
LFS FTW

Quote from gxgung :I bought a G25 as soon as I could (LFS made me buy it)!

Yeah, Logitech should pay the LFS devs for all the extra sales
