RSC has been back for a few weeks now. I did a quick search and couldn't find anything about it. I'll try a more in depth search a bit later at home.

Quote from Klutch :Scooter isnt happy hardcore :P

and the song i linked is whats called Terrorcore, very similiar to Gabber and Speedcore

Sorry. Don't know much about anything other than psy stuff. All I know is it was funny to download a mix from DJ Brownout and have a person who listens to nothing but psy listen to it and watch his face...

I'm actually trying to find a few hardcore songs, but really don't like the vocals. I can't seem to find anything that suits my interest.

Can't recall Pro Street having trippy stuff, but I never listen to music while racing so I'll just go by your description of trippy.

Dark psy or full on psy would be your best trippy sub genres IMO.

Forget all this youtube crap... You want music to take with you, www.ektoplazm.com has downloads...

Infected Mushroom
GMS
Psyknights (slower and softer, but VERY trippy)
Dark Fox
Alternative Control
Erofex
Misted Muppet
Flower Powder
DJ Psyclone
Pan Psychic
Shanti
Eskimo
Electric Universe
Lamat
Skazi
Nritya Shastra If you can find this one, the final song "Nritya Shastra" is the fastest and hardest song I've ever heard.

www.di.fm has a psy trance channel that plays decent stuff every once in a while.

If you want trippy as in just "techno" try happy hardcore or something like that. Scooter's pretty good with that stuff. That's really as far as my experience goes with that. The beginning of Klutch's suggestion sounded like that.

Maybe family owned, but IMO, it's run much more like a larger corporation focused only on performance. Performance which they seem to be missing out on lately...

I decided to pay closer attention to the quality last night watching the practice. I too have horrible blurring of pretty much everything. I even switched the aspect ratio to normal on my widescreen, and it still looked pretty bad. Most other shows don't look that bad on Speed though.

I'm in central PA using a sister company of Pen Telle Data called CATV.

Quote from SparkyDave :Is it not best to let them have a battle and not to ram either of them??

I just dont get how some people cant see the fact you shouldnt contact other cars!!! especially when they are in a battle for position

SD.

Quote from SparkyDave :Are we talking about bumpdrafting only at the oval? seems if we are then thats ok as special rules seem to go hand in hand with oval racing.

Thread title just said bumpdrafting, video posted was BL1, maybe Im reading the post as I see them, but it seems to me that bumpdrafting is becoming the "norm" at most servers in most cars.

even this thread is giving new users the impression that bumping a car infront is acceptable, and I don't think on a "normal non-oval" race track that it is.

SD.

Indeed I think it's related almost exclusively to ovals. I was confused a few pages back as well.

On an oval, I've tried sitting back on not making contact with cars thinking things will pan out in a few laps. After 15-20 laps of playing follow the leader, toying with their rear bumper to let them know I want past, I tend to get impatient and bump one ahead of the other so I can make a clean pass on both of them one by one.

On a roadcourse, i've never even thought of bumping someone unless it was into the side of them when I refused to give any more room. When I'm on the inside of the turn, all the way up on the curbs, I don't think the other driver needs anymore room...

Wow. Brings back grand memories. I can only go as far back as the Atari 2600. Most of my time was spent with the SNES though.

I can actually remember going out to the living room while my mother was taking my sister to the bus stop just to play on it for 10 minutes. As I heard my mother pull back into the drive way, I switch the games back real quick, turn everything off, and pretend like I never woke up until it was my turn to get ready for school an hour later.

One day I forgot to switch the games back and upon my return from school, I was promptly questioned about it, then grounded...

Also reminds me of my beginnings in the online gaming community. Starsiege Tribes anyone?

Quote from The Very End :I find bump drafting easy, but you need to take the bumps really carefully in the tin tops. A hard nudge + lag will give you your ride of your life!

I should post a replay of someone bumping me in a turn at Atlanta right as he/I lagged...

I don't understand how some people can't see the fact that you can't pass a person if they are side by side with another. In a situation like that, it's best to bump one ahead (preferably the one you predict will be faster) then follow them through and make a pass on him later.

Or you could bump one enough to make them decide to pass a car ahead of him, then use that to go the other direction and pass both in their confusion.

I've seen both pan out very well.

Quote from PMD9409 :If he was a bit brighter he would have stayed on the inside, and if Tony gets too close to his nose then "lean" onto his car to slow Tony down.

Doesn't matter to me, I'd rather see Busch crash, I just don't want him to be in the way of Kahne like he was.

Indeed, but at a moment like that, who would actually think of that first? I'd have "Holy crap, gotta keep em all behind me!" on my mind...

Here are some links to some 1/10 scale cars with bodies that look similar to LFS cars.

You can find all these body styles blank so you can paint your own.

FZR similarities.

To end up like that, he doesn't need to win a race! He started a massive crash and still ends up in 14th! That would be a dream for me.

Just watching Sky Crawlers last night.

It was very interesting. Couldn't really connect well with the characters, but the plot was very misterious, leaving me trying to figure out the answers to the questions that no one would answer...

Also, I've NEVER seen any 3D CGI mix THIS WELL with 2D animation. Not to mention the attention to detail was astonishing. Physics for the planes seemed to be top notch too with a few questionable inaccuracies. (I'm a little bit of an aviation nut too...)

Wow.

I'm not saying I want any rules changes at all. That was (IMO) Bush's fault entirely, plain and simple. It seems these guys forget that when you turn the car, you scrub off speed. It's similar to what happened either last year or the one before where Vickers took out the front runners and won. All it took was for Johnson (the one Vickers was pushing) turned out of line to pass Jr. Once Vickers found out what was going on, he turned down to help Johnson, but since he had already scrubbed so much speed, Vickers ended up turning him into Jr., giving Vickers an easy as hell victory.

Usually in a situation like this though, once it's repeated a few times, NASCAR comes in and rearanges everything in the name of "safety."

With years of simulated experiance like this, I have to say, I would have done the same thing as Bush, then realized after viewing replays that I might have still gotten the win if I wouldn't have blocked a second time.

As for it being the spotter's fault, I don't think that's fair. It happened so fast that by the time Bush would fairly be expected to react to his spotter saying "Car high" or anything of the sort, would be watching all the cars infront of him as he was spinning... Also, when you're as excited as they must have been, it takes even more time for someone to register something like that.

Quote from Nathan D. :G25 sounds good to me.

Just out of curiosity, why would you need to hit the gas and the brake at the same time? What else would you do that for other than a burnout?

I am a left food breaker. Have been since day one.

I started out in NASCAR where I found that if I didn't get ALL the way off the throttle in the turn and used the breaks, the car was a lot more stable.

I also find I have an advantage coming out of a turn due to not having to change my foot from break to gas.

Never could stand driving my real cars that way though...

Makes me wonder if they're going to make some changes to the rules to prevent something like that. Think, this is the second time almost the exact same thing has happened.

Now I understand why sim series' have rules against blocking twice in the same straight/turn...

I've been mixing a combination of products since I started points racing a 6 years back.

I've started with the MOMO wheel and a set of Act Labs Performance pedals that did the job just fine until the pots started going out.

A team member sent me a replacement MOMO wheel a few years back, and I bought a set of G25 pedals from a user on the RSC forums.

The G25 pedals are great, but with the way the pedals are spaced, I can't use the gas and break at the same time without "stepping" on one of my feet and screwing up the inputs... Other than that, it's a good setup.

Just don't feed the troll. Every time people stopped feeding them in other threads I've seen, they get more pissed off as time passes, then over step regulations or attack a mod and get banned.

In the 2006-2007 spec cars (car of yesterday) they used to put more and thicker tubing in the front of the car for super speedways and/or short tracks to allow more physical use with less probability of damage.

I'm not sure about the current car though.

Just started Code Geass.

Now that I could see it from the first episode, I can see that the story line is much deeper than the select few episodes I caught before.

I was wondering why anyone would mean to have a feature like that to spin it on one axis only...

Granted, it's not a top priority feature, but it would be nice to have in a finished product. They could even open development a little to let modders take a shot at such small tasks.

Quote from ANAMENOONEHAD :ITS funny most people drive the oval in a open wheel car which i havent seen bump drafting in indy at all. its a closed wheel type deal. so i think bump drafting in a ss is cheating the physics/damage model of lfs for the momment. anyone can show me a vid of ss's bump drafting? as far as the gtr cars go sure its legit. but ss hmm....

Reading this, I can understand the other side from a different view point.

I can take it as bump drafting in a car isn't cheating, but exploiting the game engine's limitations to gain an otherwise unfair advantage could be considered wrong.

Am I correct in assuming this is the argument of the original post?

I personally don't like doing it. I don't trust people well enough to do that. I'd rather just time my movements and back pedal a bit to get a better run at a better part of the course. This strategy has served me well for years.

Not to mention it would be pretty cool to rotate on other axis as well.

Bump drafting can't possibly be considered cheating. If anything, drivers should be rewarded for being able to pull it off.

The only difference between bump drafting and drafting is the contact. Instead of wasting the energy by pulling out of the draft, the driver decides to keep the energy moving forward and transfers it to the car ahead.

If you want to be completely bull headed and tell me bump drafting is cheating, then at least the way I see things, you MUST consider drafting at all cheating. After all, you are benefiting from the car ahead of you punching a hole through the air for you...

Now that I think of it, I've seen several high end RC cars that have bodies looking a little bit like the cars in LFS. Of course, they aren't the actual models.

I believe I saw one in particular, an older RX7 to look like a XRG/XRT, as well as 350Z's.

They are quite hefty in the price range though. I'll see if I can't get my old system working tomorrow and pull out some of the bookmarks.

Of course you'd have to paint them yourself and getting all the components to make it operable will cost a VERY pretty penny.

I would also say a compy would be best.

I just got a new on myself. Now I'm trying out my older games that I couldn't run well on my old system.

If you get an S2 license though, don't you need to activate it online? That's how I've done it each time at least.
