T'was a very entertaining race to watch and talk about...Goodness knows what the **** happened in the end, but ultimately, LLM managed to stand out a bit more than last year, and I'm not saying this because of the massive stream time we got, but because 3 out of 4 cars managed to spend a lot of the race in the top 10.
I didn't like what happened at the end because it ruined those 3 guys' chances of finishing higher than they did. Matt could've finished higher than 6th, and Ray and Nate could've been better than 11th and 12th. Hell, they could've even finished on formation and ended it in style and in a good position. But what happened happened, and looking at last year it still ended up being an improvement. Although it could've been so. much. better.
That's still something yet to be decided - it could be by judging drivers by their level of experience (veterans get the hardest class, newbies have it easier) or just by who's in the top of the standings (top 5 drivers on the hardest class, 6-15 in the middle, and 16-lower on the easiest, although that would need some changes). Class differentiation would be by the nametag colour - Class A drivers use a red name, Class B drivers go with yellow, and Class C drivers use green.
Please don't forget to add your opinions, suggestions and ideas here for us to read...might be good help just in case we run out of ideas of our own!
I'm absolutely mind****ed after reading every post. I'm usually not around these days to help out at admin-ing, so the advice I gave to matt was to seek for an experienced admin's help...DeadWolfBones and dekojester are easily the best admins around who could lend the RR team a hand and give them some advice on some things, at least (those are the guys I know from the top of my head).
If you really want to help admin-ing, driving the SC/RC and checking the rulebook for protests and other cases, you know you still have this thread to check out...post an application and say the dates that you're available to appear and help out!
With that said, I thought J@tko and Reno would be on the administration team today...wonder where they went
Session: Race
Lap: 52
Timecode:
Cars: #17, #22
Description: #17 punts #22 off, causing severe loss of positions and minor damage (writing this as it's read out to me, protesting in Ray's behalf)
Although the team is in far better condition than it was in the past, there's still A LOT of things to improve on...still need to use the talent a bit better, and in the polemic cases, there is an urgent need for improvement, specially when it comes to attitudes: either take the blame, or just shut up, rise above it and get on with it.
A lot of LLM's problems and the main reason why there are so many haters comes from some of our members reacting badly to a protest or caring too much about what the others are doing instead of just getting on with the job at hand.
But with that said, things are also starting to improve, now that at least Ray and Matt are walking more and talking less now, if you know what I mean (Talk the talk, walk the walk?).
Everything seems to be going on the right lines now, for all the objectives set for this year...and that can be noticed by many of our new members' quality, which is a definite improvement over last year
Although, in another note, I do have to stress this rule now, because we've had some cases of this problem and it's an absolute pain to take care of (not to mention it's something that breaks the law):
We will NOT accept any more drivers that share their account with other people.
Because we went so easy with requirements during member recruitment, it was only inevitable that some guys with shared accounts got in the team, and in turn it was inevitable that some problems with attitudes and identities stemmed from it. And most recently during a league race (no names mentioned), there was a case of a member whose account was being used by someone else when he was supposed to take over from a driver at the end of a stint.
So here it is, if you are interested in joining but you share your account with someone else, only way around that is by making that account yours and yours ONLY. Otherwise, sorry but you'll have to look somewhere else.
With that said, the members who share their accounts won't be kicked because of this, as long as they can keep them under control.
This is amazingly...pointless. I'm sorry for being Cpt. Obvious here, but surely there's still something from the Australian GP to talk about instead of taking the piss out of the Daily Mail journalist trying to teach us grammar lessons
Even after qualifying I still absolutely have no idea of who is going to win and who's going to score. And although we all know who's going home, it's still all up in the air when it comes to the race results...and Australia is always full of surprises!
They had to relocate to new facilities, along with a new ownership, team principal and pretty much all of the staff as well. At least since Thesan Capital bought the team from the original owners and Colin Kolles (team principal and responsible for 80% of the team's staff in 2011) left the team. Not easy stuff for HRT at the moment, and I really hope they can make it through this season.
I wouldn't mind doing that. Would be also great if in some races, there was a small space/text/sticker to pay tribute to Joe (much like the "Dan Wheldon Lionheart" sticker in Realistic Nascar races)
