To cut a veeery long story short: it was planned to be released, but then devs found out it wasn't handling properly, so they finally ended up with creating a totally new tire physics. https://www.lfs.net/forum/post/1863422#post1863422
LFS has been started by three enthusiastic people some 12 years a go.... 12 years a go!!! (maybe even earlier).
12 years a go we were all much, much younger and IT technologies were at a ridiculously lower level than they are today. The World has changed a lot in those 12 years too... Many of us, including the devs, have started our own families, introducing new, everyday duties that we did not have at the "beginning of time"
As much as I am grateful for not making a simple "product" out of it, but a sim worth spending hours and hours every day of our lives for ONLY freaking 24 GBP for all that time (and insisting on software being playable on slower machines), I can't shake off the feeling that it can even be better than that...
Some (if not many) people who complain here about slow development are actually enthusiast who simply love LFS for all that it is and really want to see it progresses. This is an actual appeal to Scawen to reconsider the plan of how it's done rather than what should be done.
I really do LOVE this game/sim and I really hate seeing it loses pace with time. Please, don't let it just fade away...
Bought it 7 years a go, had a really good time with it and still do. Got to know many interesting people, from 14 to even 70 years of age, some of them met in person and with some of them will stay friends for life probably...
Timing is different now, however... many had moved to iRacing and AC most recently, but I can still see them peaking here from time to time, looking if updates have come.
It's your choice... but in my opinion it is worth even now, considering the price, which you would pay only once and what you can expect to get from it.
I see Serbian has been translated through the Oculus Rift patch development, but still misses some lines. I guess translator went on holy days :P
Let me know if you need help with these.
Try Cargame S1 and S2 servers, usually provide solid pickup racing.
They also tend to maintain the quality of driving, so reports filed are usually dealt with in a short time. Registering on their forum could also help you get more info
That helps having more fun and improving your skills, as well
I just want to say that some of these fictional tracks are much, much, much better than most of the real ones. Aston, for example, is a beauty. Fantastic track, has everything: fast corners, slow corners, hairpins, both left and right corners, long straights, short straights, fast chicanes, slow chicanes, suicide chicanes and a lot, lot, lot room for wheel to wheel racing and places for clean overtakes, elevation changes.... just everything in one track.
Ky3 is also an epic track, so tnx for all that
There is already a large number of people using it for cruising.
Drifting also, even though LFS probably never planned to be a drifting sim.
I don't know why you are still persisting in "no, no, no..." while devs themselves have already stated "yes, yes, yes..."
