Changing the colour of the space between the lights IS possible, the devs have just changed it from the way it was in Patch Y. I've attached a dds file which will give you the result in the attached picture. Just find the little red triangle at the top left corner of the pic, that's what you need to change to whatever colour you want.
Here's a new brake disc for the new VWS. The default one which comes with the new CMX viewer doesn't have see-through holes, but mine does. I'm amazed that Eric bothered to make 2 separate textures, but didn't bother to make REAL holes in the disc.
Enjoy.
EDIT
Apparently this disc will replace the current one in the next patch, so this texture will be for all cars, not just the VWS.
I also updated the texture, made the holes smaller and more realistic with bevels around them.
Both files are identical, but LFS uses the "drill" one for the more powerful cars, and the "solid" one for the weaker cars.
Another edit
Looks like, after test patch Z4, Scawen changed the filename of discdrilled to discdrill, had to re-upload the file with the new name.
I believe that computer can only take low profile cards (the short ones), and I believe it can take a PCI Express card. Your best bet is the ATI Radeon 4550 512 MB card, make sure it's "low profile", and should not cost more than 50 pounds. The card you currently have is likely not a card, it's onboard graphics, meaning the video card is build into the motherboard.
Actually 70 with the fan speed at 100% is not good at all. I did a test on my 4870, and the temp goes under 40 when the fan is at 100%. On the 4850 it will be a little higher if it's a single slot card, but not THAT high.
Get GPU-Z and check the clock speeds. Mine goes down to 500 MHz when idle, does yours go down too? Can you also clean out the fan and heatsink on the card to remove all the dust? Also, what are the temps when you're playing a game?
Even if you buy from an American shop, you have to account for the exchange rate. So just divide the total by $0.80, or whatever the exchange rate is that day, and you'll get the real price.
This is a good idea, it HAD to have been mentioned before. I like it, and I think that if we have car ranks, then we should have track ranks too, it's only logical.
Canada Computers is a good store, I bought everything from there as they had the cheapest prices at the time. It was convenient for me to drop by their store, but it may not be for you, as the closest store to you is in Ottawa. Another one is Direct Canada, it is a good online store, they have very cheap prices and good service. Finally, try to avoid buying from TigerDirect as they have very high prices.
You're right unseen, I don't know what I was thinking, I was talking gibberish last night.
Anyway, after removing the alpha layer I saved the file and it was only 2.6 MB at 2048x2048, make sure you save without alpha layer, I think it's the DXT1 setting, the first one.
