iRacing good for a casual player? Used to love LFS for its pick up and play online racing but this is now dead.

Only interested in open wheelers and prototypes and need something to do until Assetto Corsa get multiplayer.

Looks like the best deal for me is 3 months for $12.

Are there always races to join? Or am I going to be sitting around twiddling me thumbs because everyone else in the world is asleep?

Have done that. Quick google points to faulty hardware. Wheel was purchased brand new in December so warranty should sort it.

My G27 appears to be broken after playing last night. With the wheel centered the in game wheel is pointing 20+ degrees to the right

I find all of those effects a bit of a pain. Makes my wheel rattle around without actually doing anything useful.

On the left hand side put everything except gain at 0%. Give that a try and if you want those "effects" then adjust as needed.

It was not me in the video. I was on the other side of the track at the time of the crash. I should have made that a bit more clear in my post


And for those going on about top speed...

Reading the speedo is pointless. I could get my little 400 to read 200mph if I wanted. If people are going to go around quoting their top speed then yes I do expect them to calculate it properly!

The 600s that support the WSBK series were hitting just over 270kph at monza. That is around 170mph.

Okay so I just managed to take 8 tenths off my time. All in the first sector.

Unplugged the shifter and turned auto blip on. Much easier now. Almost too easy...

Managed to sort my braking into the second right hander. Noticed that changing into fifth on the front straight also gains me time but my 1:13.1 was done holding it in 4th.

I now need to sort the right hander onto the hanger straight and then try and figure out Stowe. I think I am attacking these two corners a little too much.

I dont know how I am 1.3 seconds slower. I am losing 8 tenths in the first sector and 5 tenths in the second. Driving me slightly mad! Might have to turn auto blip & cut on and just concentrate on the driving.

That lap was done without any heel - toe action as I struggle to do everything at once on hotlaps.

Got a G27 for christmas. Downloaded that RSR lap time thingy. Thought I would see how I am doing. Disappointed to see I am 4 seconds off the pace!

599xx at silverstone first time driving this car/track combo and I only did a couple of laps but there is no way I could find 4 seconds. I think at best I could get into the low 59s.
