the guide says: Car’s body is the object 019. To know its material’s ID, select one of its vertices (see chapter n°2) Thus, you’d be able to learn that the ID is n°14.
This means you have to press number 14 in the material editor before you do the stuff it says in the guide.
ignore this it says at the end: Finally, move this new material into the the material’s ID n°14 (it’ll replace the old one)
It just doesnt make sense and works find if ignored
Been messing around with this for 2 days and this is what I can do so far LX6 render
Ok MSN Messenger wasn't at fault. Been locking up even without MSN running
I can't figure out WHY this is happening. I've attatched a screenshot of what it looks like when it locksup and loops the sound. Nothing wrong in that picture
When I drive though I sometimes see some graphical error in the speedometer. Kinda like when you have an old version of directx or something where the textured are all spiked out. Also does this with the trees sometimes.
I also play:
Grand Prix Legends
GT Legends
Battlefield 2
and none of these games lock up or have graphical glitches? I've also set the apparture size in bios to 256mb which is max. Tried different graphics drivers and updated my onboard sound chipset drivers.
This is starting to bother me as I can't even finish a 5 lap sprint race
Like the parking lot I would like to see a dirt field. A big square of dirt where you could have fun. With the parking lot people have created mini ovals for uf1 banger racing and is also used for autox.
With a dirtfield people could create dirtovals, rally cross tracks, destruction derby tracks, banger racing tracks etc.
ok tested that setup for almost 2 hours now on Kyoto Ring National and I found it to be WAY too understeering in slow corners. What I did was lower it to 0.075 in the front and change the locked differential to a clutch pack lsd 20% / 60%.
Now that made it handle real nice. If it went understeering in corners just let up on the throttle a little and it would fall into line again
After installing patch Q i've had some problems with Live for Speed. It's like the game is REALLY putting load on my CPU. When im online with a full server sometimes the game will "freeze/lock up" for 5 - 10 seconds with the sound looping. Then it sounds like one of the fans inside my computer revs up and then the game returns to normal speed (with me crashed all over ofcourse).
This also happen sometimes when watching a replay with loads of cars in it. Or racing offline with all the AI.
This didn't ever happen before patch Q.
I tried to reinstall LiveforSpeed ie. redownload and patch Q as my old LFS folder was quite old with loads of crap in it.
Also tried going back to older gfx drivers and that seemed to help a little. Doesn't "freeze/lock up" as often now.
My specs:
Intel P4 2.8ghz (533mhz) Northwood socket 478
MSI motherboard 865PE Neo 2-V
Club3d nvidia GeForce 6600GT 128mb AGPx8
2x 512mb Kingston Value DDR3200
windows xp sp2
nvidia forceware 77.72 whql gfx drivers
I would like to see something that would compete with the UF1000... something like a Fiat 500. Its small like the UF1, got around the same hp and is RWD so RWD people can get into mini door to door racing
seems to me like you get a better start spinning the wheels. The car is hard to control yes, and when it looks like its going to act funny, then let off the gas a little.
This problem started after I installed the Q patch.
When on an online server and the server is either voted to end race or is forced to end by the admin, and we go to the setup screen where track, laps and wind is chosen. The game freezes and about 10 seconds later Im at the select server screen with the message "you've lost connection to the server"
This has happened several times now. 3 times in a row last monday at Nations Cup. Lost connection, logged back on... 5 seconds later, lost connection, logged back on etc.
anyone else experienced this and know how to solve it?
I blame the tire modeling. I get better traction at optimal tire temp. with hybrid tires on the XRG than I do with normal tires??
Now that doesnt make sense to me, as the normal tires are road tires and hybrid tires are made for rallying on both gravel and tarmac, and there fore the threads are larger on the hybrids?
Ive driven 200hp RWD cars and none of them have been as slippery and tail happy as the RWD cars in LFS. I dont think the tire model is fully developed yet.
Where at alpha stage so a lot of things can change before S2 final
