After looking into the costs, the skip barber series seems more affordable and they provide the car while also making it a learning experience. There was only 6 events for the 2008 season meaning I won't have to travel too much. I don't need to transport a car everywhere and if I didn't have a suit and helmet already, they provide that. If I somehow surprise myself (though I doubt it) there is a fully paid season of Formula Mazda as a prize (read the fine print though, you have to be a teacher and motivational speaker to other drivers afterwards).
It's not like I'm doing this now either, I'm going to wait awhile.
Some helpful info if anyone has sponsors could you let me know what you do for that. For autocrossing now I just get contingincies for just posting a decal on my car, im pretty sure thats not the case for a real sponsor.
I've been karting and autocrossing for awhile now but I finally feel that is time to move on to something new. I've always wanted to race in an open wheeler but I am unsure of the costs.
In the U.S I'm limited to (as far as I know)
Formula Mazda
Formula BMW
Formula Ford
Skip Barber
If anyone has any info could you please let me know? Like how much do you travel? how much are spare parts on average? if you race for a team who owns the car instead of you, how did you get on the team? How did you obtain your sponsors?
That's all the questions I can think up of at the moment, I appreciate any info that you guys can give me.
On LFSW now, you can only view the details of a race for any user, but would it be possible for LFSW to also have a replay of the race you want to see the details of?
Don't know what you other guys would think of it, I just like watching other peoples' races. Maybe would also be good for some people who forget to save race replays that they want.
I think it was before qualifying when deko mentioned "oneGP rule changes now take effect" or something along the lines of that. He probably should of mentioned what took effect though. If he did maybe I wasn't paying attention.
Just watched the replay of the pits he made and it seems that he crossed more than the first pit box in front of him when he left his pit box on both occasions. It's not like the whole car drove through the boxes it was only at most 2 tires. Hopefully it won't turn out to be a penalty.
Commentary was really good, surprised that someone knew I used to race for PRT. Also the first time I've heard someone say my last name right the first try.

I'm the second driver for [TC-R]
I am looking to be a test driver again after the team I was driving for seems to have become inactive in the series (PRT Racing). I have 1 one GP race under my belt at the KY2 GP for the 1st race of the season. If you are interested in acquiring another driver for your team may I suggest watching a few hotlaps of my driving before making your decision.
The SO1 hotlap is without TC. For a replay of the KY2 GP race you'll need to get that from the Race 1 thread in the forum as I couldn't post it due to the 1.95MB limit.
Edit: Also as a note, if you watch the replay of the race; on lap 7 my antivirus popped up and minimized the race on 2 different occasions on the lap causing me to hit 2 walls and another racer.
too bad there isn't something like a maturity vote at the end of each race or whatever. That way if you act like a jerk in races other racers will just vote once to bring your maturity rating down by 1, (only 1 vote per race on each person) and Better racing servers or any server would only allow users with a certain maturity level and up to race in their servers. Think something like that in place would help?
