Quote from dadge :i swear this is true; there was also a petrol station there owned by a company called "TOP" you might know this company (being in Ireland). and they joined an initiative to maintain "roundabout gardens". basically planting shrubs and flowers on roundabouts to make them look purty..so there was roundabouts on roads in derry with signs on them saying "Maintained by TOP Muff".
i kid you not.

Quote from Racer X NZ :'We Got Him' - The Movie, a sequel to Wag the Dog.

Scene One: President in ratings nose-dive after doing everything he said he wouldn't do and nothing that he said he would. Pakistan is on the wish-list of countries to invade and subdue leading directly to the border with China - the target, with Russia, for a Third World War. Public support for ever more wars, like the latest in Libya, is waning. Others are planned so support must generated for them.

Scene Two: Man wrongly blamed for 9/11, who died years before anyway, becomes the manufactured villain in a staged drama in which John Wayne extras have a shoot out in a compound in Pakistan, thus providing further ammunition to demonise that country for 'protecting Bin Laden'.

Scene Three: The lying and ludicrous President is suddenly an overnight hero (for doing nothing) and enjoys standing ovations when he enters a room. He condemns Pakistan (obligatory) which then apologises for 'security failures' hoping this will mitigate the military backlash in the wake of them telling the United States to stop drone-bombing their country and killing their civilians.

Scene Four: The hero President heads for Ground Zero in New York to exploit the families who lost loved ones on 9/11 to further promote himself, his popularity and poll ratings as he prepares for another run for President.

Scene Five: With new found support triggered in the John Wayne DNA of many Americans the President orders assaults on other countries while he heroically sits in the White House thousands of miles from the men, women and children he is ordering to be killed.

There was another scene in which the brave men in uniform paraded their 'prize' in full view to prove that what they said they have done they actually did. But, no. This was dropped in favour of dumping the 'body' into the sea. Saves the cost of hiring a corpse.

^^^^ well that was.... a well informed comment...

Quote from Born2BSlow :Is that for a G27? Can't be, although they may realise that no-one in Ireland has any money as the economy is on it's ar5e and just wants to shift 'em?

That's it, I'm voting monster raving looney so we can crash the economy and get cheap stuff

hurray, generic comment because your topic is bullshit.

Quote from Shotglass :true although sims have come a long way
also im not quite sure what the obsession that guy has with motion platforms is about... particularly when it comes to flight sims since generally the main thing to learn about the movement you feel during flight (or in most situations the movement you think you feel) is to ignore all of it especially in imc

i always thought they where the way forward.... i mean.... FFB is one thing... actually getting a banger of a car ( i.e volvo 850 ) and fitting comp controller hydrolics ( or a fat bloke on the bonnet ) would make this and all other games truely more enjoyable ( and comfy if you have leather seats... )

Quote from S14 DRIFT :The Leons look properly smart IMO, there's a few nice ones and both the old Mk1 and the MK2s look really nice....the brand new new ones too. Agreed the interior is dull and comparitevely it's not screwed together as well, but it's still miles better than a Vauxhall/Hyundai/Toyota etc.

Civic is a bit of a mixed one, because in general they're not as good as the old Civic I mean the type R for example looks nice but I prefer the old one (so does Clarkson and loads of others), but the new one does have some nice touches and on the lower down models (and diesels) where the out and out driving performance isn't so important, the spaceship looks and digital dash probably make up for the dynamic shortcomings! There's a Honda dealer locally and the car felt well made but then it was brand new...need to see a 57 plate one or something to see how they stand up to the test of time!

Honda's automatic isn't the nicest easier so you're stuck with the shift if that's what you're looking to go down!

i assume your talking about the uk made shi-vic which is imho nothing more then a half arsed homage to the half arsed boxy shuttle which was an ok car back in the day, but the modern box bottle... meh; i see them as the only car in the hip-hatch market worse then the mini... though a golf/seat/VAG isnt miles better... Any improvement is... an improvement ?

Quote from Shotglass :ill bet any amount of money that its the wrong way round

youve already worked out yourself that this is a pretty much an inanswerable question since there are way too many variables especially since lower rpm and higher rpm are essentially meaningless without any further qualification

^^^^ this is my basic answer.

include strict perimeters and we can answer it better OP.

Quote from Born2BSlow :Forgot to mention that Logitech isn't the cheapest place to buy normally but with this voucher I couldn't find anywhere to match this price, same story on G27 which they have at £249.99, or £200 with the voucher code.

my logitech wheel cost me 98 euros ( about 80ish sterling ? ) new delivered...

with seasonal sales even less im sure ( bought it on short notice, totally regret it... g25/27 or fanatech is the only way to go but their a good wheel none the less )

unlike you guys, i dont drink to get shitface... i drink because i enjoy it...

only Really drink heavy when im abroad when its normally cheaper or more socially acceptable ( you know, out on the town, friday night etc etc )

but in all seriousness ill drink my 8 pints, a few whiskeys then get a few bottles for the road and thats me walking home with a smile on my face.

Anyone who drinks less then 6 pints + half a bottle of vodka and is practically falling off their chair shouldn't drink, Ever.

i have also taken it upon myself to make a Super special Track if you guys like Called efail.... namely because it made it for drifting ( with somewhat extreme elevation changes and such, its also suitable for tight-nit gt1 races n such.... expect crashes )

or just for a laugh at the end of it all...

Quote from Inouva :This

You have 300k and thats makes you have more "Exp" on the track, it teach you to know how to battle door to door with others, teach you when and where overtake others, it teach you the Etiquete on the track, but doesnt teach you to be fast as an alien

Certanly fight with you on the track ( When you are on the xrt and i'm on the lx4 ) is a totaly awesome experience like allways i say

To the OP, do a few laps in single player, and save the replay and give to us, maybe we can help you to show where are you loosing time on the track

Also you can do laps with the LFS race line ( Pressing 4 ) and helps you to know where to brake and where to lift the accel and where not

balls to that, maybe before the boom of cruising servers but now more then ever i feel their no better benchmark then reputation and with my stats reset and the inability to get into a decent no wreak server... meh.

Quote from 91mason91 :I'm not really a strong supporter of the penalty system in GT5. There's nothing wrong with it other than it feels unnatural to me. ALL racing games I've played (online) have had the natural full contact.

We, as fellow LFS enthusiasts, should be able to trust each other enough to be able race competitively along side each other without too much hassel.

i agree but this is not possible due to murphys law... well... murphys stout which tells of " if it can go wrong, and people have a choice to mess about... they will.... for the lulz "
