So pleased for Hamilton and Sato!

But did I not just hear the McLaren guy saying "Kubica has broken... something"?

Any chance of a normal test patch-style update .zip as well as the auto-update method, Scawen?

note: I haven't had any problems but I just thought I'd throw it in.

Ah, that's a render of the FXR with one wheel flying off superimposed on a photo of the Bahrain circuit.

Any more comments?

Thanks I was going to make a video about the FM Autocross Servers, but with 30-odd cars crossing paths and flying over each other it's difficult to know which 'story' to follow and it's even harder planning camera angles as you don't know where the cars are going to go. So I hope someone more skilled will make a movie of that

Thanks guys, it's always good to get positive comments!

Smurfen: Your skin kicks arse, I always use it when I drive the XRT.

CSU: You were driving the blue RB4 if I remember right..? The way you look over your shoulder to check what's behind you then put it in reverse anyway made me laugh as I sailed past in my unscathed FXO

Any more feedback will be much appreciated

Quote :although we weren't coming in very sideways it felt like it.

Ugh, I remember taxiing for the first time. Almost ran over some woman who was walking her dog at the edge of the airfield. With a Cessna 150.

Here's a shiny new video from the Bug Test Server on one of those days where everything that could go wrong, did go wrong over four races of clean racing and easily avoidable crashes:
  • See what happens when you shift into reverse at 120mph
  • Wonder how two RB4s manage to spin out at the same corner at the same time and end up in the same wall
  • Learn not to slipstream too closely as the guy in front may slam on his brakes at any time...

The video was edited in Sony Vegas 7. All feedback, opinions and comments are very welcome! The YouTube quality is awful as usual, it pretty much destroyed the glow and colour balancing in the first couple of scenes...

Clicky here to watch the 30Mb WMV
Clicky here to watch it on YouTube

Also on my YouTube profile are FWDrifting and FOX Hunts GTR- two videos that have been up for a while but I haven't posted here, so feel free to offer a comment/opinion on those too.

The reason people don't talk about illegal downloads here is because the owners of the forum can be a target for lawyers if they allow discussion of such things.

Sorry guys, if I'd have known I would have said. I browse with Javascript off and Adblock on. Or perhaps the page has been hijacked very recently?

Sorry, you lost me there. You should sue your school because you didn't look where you were going?

From what I know, they'll provide you with a laptop or electronic typewriter thing.

Quote :but it is a very visible display of western excess. How is this interpreted in developing countries?

The UAE don't seem to have a problem with it. Or China. Or Brazil. Or any other developing nation that hosts an F1 race.

Quote :Personally I'd be more worried about the amount of oil we have left on earth.

Quite right. About time people started thinking about REAL issues instead of "the earth may or may not heat up in a few thousand years and it may or may not be down to us". Also finding a cheap, alternative fuel to oil will keep the environmentalists happy.

Quote :F1 cars - and we don't mean to pick on one branch of motorsport, but figures are more readily available - emit around 1500g of carbon dioxide per kilometre, almost nine times more than the average new road vehicle. Add in the hundreds of flights every team uses between testing and races and one recent estimate put each driver's carbon emissions for the eight-month season at 54 tonnes: more than 10 times as much as the average Briton emits in a year. That's not even counting other factors, such as the teams that have two wind tunnels running 24/7.

]

F1 has been carbon neutral for years, what more does he want?

Also, they're switching to those relatively tiny engines in the near future etc.

Finally, global warming is a natural process!

Quote :Can't say I'm all that keen on racist jokes myself. I'll get you a Jim Davidson video for christmas.

Ah, but at least the site isn't biased against one particular group of people- no matter what your colour or nationality is, somewhere on that site is a joke about you. It's quite balanced

I found this site on my travels across t'internet- anyone who's familiar with b3ta.com may know this site. Basically, people post their sick jokes and if they're lucky their jokes get published in the next "Bumper b3ta Book of Sick Jokes".

Some of the jokes are on the boundaries of bad taste, but that depends how easily offended you are. Personally, the site appeals to my sense of humour and I find it hilarious.

Quote :To have every car in the game (speculated) it would cost you over $1000. That's the last thing I heard, which is when I immediately stopped considering a PS3 or ever caring about the GT series again.

They WERE considering this, but abandoned the idea. GT HD is now just a Prologue for GT5, which should have all the cars on the disc. Obviously, there will be extras after release which will probably be pay-for.

Just to bring this topic to a close, I've decided to buy:

Sennheiser HD595 50Ohm

Even Head-Fi's members couldn't find a real negative point with these and they seem to be the best choice out of these, the Sonys and the Grado/Alessandros

Thanks for the advice everyone has given (esp. Bob for answering my Grado questions), it's been very helpful in making my choice. And I've learnt a lot about headphones in the process.

I'm really torn between the 595s, SR80s and Sonys now. I'll have to draw up a table of pros and cons...

My taste in music is a lot of rock, with the odd dance/rap track. Not much classical or pop. Not a fan of opera or anything with shrieking vocals.

Bob, I'll PM you or something about those Grados. I won't have a chance to try them so I want to know as much about them as I can...

Undoz, I'll try and find the low-impedance 595s. Will also have to read what Head Fi think of them.

OK, one last question- final choices:

Grado SR-80
-Better soundstage
-Warmer
-Bass more noticeable BUT doesn't go as low
-Sharpish highs

Sony MDR-7506
-Sterile, neutral sound
-Highs too high
-Bass goes lower but needs to be EQ'd in to be noticeable

I'm leaning towards the Grados. If anybody has Grados, am I right in what I said above and is it the right choice?

A mechanically-minded friend of mine is currently making an old Ford Anglia into a dragstrip car... New brakes, suspension, gearbox etc and is planning to put a V8 in it. And of course, shiny wheels and a respray.

Ah, the only 595s I'd seen were the high impedance ones, thanks

They cost 99$ including free shipping, but don't forget, there might be tax added to this price in you country. And you should buy yourself the HD 414 pads, and quartermod them. All info you need about this is found at Head-Fi

They look good, but I think I'd get the Grado SR-80s instead of these simply because AFAIK you can buy them in the UK.
