Quote from MJL1966 :Fewer ass hats on this track, but that is where I met my last straw. AA demo is even worse.

I'm surprised at the number of ppl who responded here. Shocked, actually. Typical response to noob hat throwing a hissy is "don't let the door hit your ass on the way out the door."

Childish, yes. Warranted, absolutely. I took the time to prepare. And got screwed anyway.

You want new blood in this game? Police your fellow veterans. There is a split crowd here. There are the very cool vets like mcs mad max who use their brake pedals and say encouraging things. (And ... this is important... manage to get past me without tossing me off the track. Imagine that) Then there are the "others" who go out of their way to haze new drivers. Maybe that's the culture. Maybe that's the initiation process that works. But it is 180 out from the spirit of this forum and the documents describing how you expect this community to behave.

Yes, their are ass hats in every online gaming community. But with racing, it's far more damaging. A good race requires a very high degree of cooperation and it only takes one or two to ruin it for everyone. One could argue that a beginner like me is one of those who ruin it for others, but there is a difference between trying to get with the program and deliberately punishing those with less skill. Trying real hard to improve? Screw you, I'm going to run you off the track until you're as fast as me.

Some argue that new drivers should practice off line until they get their lap time up to a certain level. The problem there is lap speed is only about 40% of the equation. Racing with the pack is a whole different skill set, far more important and only obtainable by driving on line. The unavoidable truth is new drivers are going to have a learning curve and the only way to get through it is to get on the track with others. This is why we have clean driving rules - so people don't run slower drivers off the track.

Some could also argue that "pros" who don't know how - or don't have the discipline - to control their speed and line to compensate for slower drivers aren't as good as they think they are. I've found that taking my foot off the gas and even using the brake pedal on a straight to stay behind a slower driver works great. Sooner or later, you will catch them in a position where you can pass safely. Patience is a skill, too.

What we really need is a graduated track system. There is that first round of skill improvement where you go from spending most of your time in the dirt to a good lap with a clean line and a time of about 1.45 or more. Then there's 1.40 and then the elusive 1.30. Tracks set up for three or four well-known milestone lap times with qualifying and accumulated driving time requirements would help new drivers work their way up without getting in the way of the pros.

There are quite many bad demo drivers out there, unfortunately. But not all fast people drives others off the track. I'd suggest you to buy S2 and try out some league-racing. The racing there is some of the best, where drivers are penalized if they drive unsporting. These series are usually driven by fast drivers though, but I am pretty sure there are people out there who can assist you with setups and practicing. If you want some tips, you can just throw me a PM.

Quote from Kristi :Just asked so because the event info thread still shows your livestream page not the new one. Actually, if the new site supports embded code, then you could solve it with just one site.

Yupp, I know. Thats because its not really been tested out yet :-P I am planning on making a website where all the streams will be stored, and of course put the embedded stream in ;-)

Quote from Kristi :So there will be stream for Baltic Series Round 1? Will it be announced?

Yes, it will. Its stated in the series' thread :-) Will announce it in the general lfs forum later on today. The stream will be streamed with the new streaming service, but will not include own graphics and such as I am too short on time for that to this race, but it will feature some cool new functions, and run smoother and better than previously through livestream. The races wont be available on-demand anymore though, but they will all be available for download. I will most probably create a website in the near future where you can dowload race-streams :-)

I have found a better streaming service than livestream, which I will try to setup and use tonight at the Baltic Series Round 1. I will pay for it monthly, which allows me to now have up to 500 viewers at the same time, and 25 000 viewer minutes a month. This new service provides me to do... pretty much anything I want, and you will see the future streams being more professional than any stream you have ever seen on Live for Speed. This new service will be used 100% for the first time by me in the upcoming 16-hour race this weekend, so then, tune in! I have many new features I want to present to you :-)

Quote from mariu97 :Best way to learn how to drive and race properly is to race online.First time you'll be slow, but in time you'll gather more experience. Also, you can watch other players or ask them to help you with setups or tips.If you race in single player all the time, you'll get bored of LFS very fast. Just my opinion.

Good luck!

Yeah, but to try out the sim in single player first is a good way to get familiar with the sim, and to get control over his own car. There is no point in racing online if you cannot control the car in a respectable way. But of course, dont be afraid of taking the step into online racing. If you join the right servers, you will find many people who are willing to help out :-)

Quote from rockclan :I just think that Scawen logged into Eric's account, removed the spam, and logged out again.

Just kidding Eric, NO please don't ban me!

LFS actually only has one developer, who's pretending to be three guys

Agreed with the post over here. When using a free Joomla theme, you cant really complain that someone is using it as well.

Hello, everyone.

I have been streaming some of the big leagues on LFS such as iTCC 2011, Kyoto 250 and the GT2 WS Round 2. With the new update on Livestreams Procaster, I can now stream races in full resolution, although livestream will of course scale the picture, it is in much better quality than before.

I have a whole "studio" set up and have my brother to help me. I have one high-end gaming-computer with a triple-screen setup with three 24" full HD monitors, as well as one high-end laptop and one mid-end. I will be looking at setting up another gaming-pc with the streaming program, to allow more cameras. An example: Having the stream broadcast and as well having a smaller box within the stream where an on-board footage is going on for like 20 sec when following the battle.

I can also stream events from other simulators and games, as long as the game/simulator supports it.
So if you want your event streamed, please take contact, and we can discuss about it!

Sorry guys, but livestream was is a bit confusing using their program. I have it set to automatically save the recordings to my channel, but doing this + having it on in the online studio, resulted in turning it off in the studio = it was not saved although I even got the question to save and name it after I stopped streaming, which I ofc did. But it is not anywhere, so it seems lost. I think I just gotta have have the record option on, on the website next time and not in the program. I am really sorry about that! I am just as disappointed as you.

But I must say livestream has done a good job with their updated software. I could now record HD without lag. I tried recording in HD before, but it needed too much internet-traffic, so livestream started to lagg (not my computer). But now it finally works good
