I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before. Noticed this many times now:
The starting light sequence has often already started before my car is put on the grid (one, or sometimes even two lights are already on). This seems to be worse when there's less cars on the grid. Therefore I take it the delay time before starting the light sequence depends on the amount of cars on the grid?
Isn't it possible to "see" when every car is positioned on the grid? In that case you could use that as a trigger to start the light sequence...
I'm almost sure you have already given this option a thought if it would be possible, but you never know...
The problem lies in the order of that list of variables. To be able to create a Dutch sentence that actually makes sense, the order would have to be:
%s - player name who is voting %s - player who is being voted against %s - user name %s - ban or disconnect
%d - number of votes
%d - number of votes required
%s - press 1 or nothing
I've tried rebuilding the sentence to make it work with the current format, but in that case I don't have enough characters to finish the sentence
Thought I'd use this thread to ask another question about the translation strings.
3a_vtfmt_s1 and 3a_vtfmtdmo are filled with %s's. How do I know which strings are used in that place? Looking at how the string is used in-game, it might be a better idea to leave the %s out and just translate the string in total as there's a difference in word sequence between English and Dutch and the translators can't change the order in which the variables are displayed in this string.
I'm trying to update my mpr parser for the new mpr header format at the moment. I have a 0.5X replay where the start time (UTC) bytes represent 24279366 seconds (0x01727946), which can't be right Is it possible this is a bug or is my maths going downhill?
Well, if the Belgians insist on using "u" instead of "je" I think it's time for a separate Belgian translation indeed
In all seriousness, the translation is done by two Dutchmen and a Belgian guy and we've discussed almost every word to find the best compromise for both countries. All in all I personally don't think it has turned out that bad
People seem to forget that with a proper business plan anyone could get a loan from the bank
I'm definitely not saying this is the case for the LFS devs (and it's none of my business either!), I'm just guessing. But at least it's something I myself would consider - to ensure an income for my family during the development.
F1RST Racing has managed to sign Péter 'Hummer' Hum to the team! People from the early days of LFS will certainly remember the name... and this former Inferno, tHUNder and Ocrana driver has recently picked up LFS racing again...
With the addition of Péter to the team, F1RST has made another big step up. The 19 year old citizen of Budapest has shown his extraordinary racing skills in virtually all the available race sims. Péter has led the GPL ranks in Hungary ánd the World ranks in GTR. He's also been fighting for the Hungarian national GPL championship, where he ended second behind Norbi.
Inside F1RST, Péter will be a strong force in the Masters of Endurance squad and he's looking forward to participating in the bigger individual international leagues too.
So on behalf of the whole team, I welcome you to the team Péter, we're looking forward to a successful cooperation
Why do you have to in the first place? Especially in league races... I can't care less about who I'm racing, in the end I want to be first! I only have a bit of mercy for my team mates, but I recognise them from the skin anyway
Could you please give some more info about the queueing system? Does it only work for full servers? Asking because I just had the "a player is disconnecting" message when trying to connect.
Oh and for me it also says W38 in the main screen.
Ive wanted to suggest this some time ago too, but there is one downside to it... what if there is no admin around and someone is in the grid list, not clicking ready... you would never be able to start the race!
Maybe a timer on the "ready up" button could fix this.. so you have to click it - say - at least every 30 seconds to let LFS know you're still ready to roll.
And +1 for the queue list, I think I've seen every possible "Failed to connect to server" message tonight..
"Player already connecting"
"Player disconnecting"
"Unauthorised connection"
"Did not receive track info"
and I'm still forgetting a couple I think..
But I'm pretty sure it's on Scawen's todo list.. it's probably not as easy, otherwise it would have been implemented already
A bit more on-topic: on the Bug Test Server I got a black screen, just by resizing the LFS window (was windowed at the time). I can't seem to reproduce it now though, so this is probably not a very useful bug report
