Watched the final episode yesterday and spent over an hour to browse the internet tonight, to find everyone's theories.. From this thread I think I'm in the minority here, when I say that I believe there's a lot more to the meaning of the ending of the show.. For me the show has been absolutely brilliant all along and I think 90% of the answers are actually in the show, only to be seen if you think / look well enough. With the intelligence the writers have shown in the past 6 seasons, I can't honestly believe they would make an easy and meaningless ending to their show.
I'm tending towards saying that the comments in this thread are just very short-sighted..
Edit: just read the story from the link fujiwara posted above.. if that doesn't clear things up....?!
Not sure if I understand what you mean, but surely purpose-built race cars have such stiff suspension, they are actually much more vulnerable to those speed bumps, compared to road cars?
As for the green area; that's what I'm trying to say.. it should slow down the car significantly, but otherwise wreck the suspension [if you fail to slow down enough]. Look at the Monaco GP of last weekend.. or T1 at Monza.. you can use the green area for emergency run off, but those "sleeping policemen" force you to brake so hard, that you actually lose time by doing it. The latter is not the case in LFS.
Seriously, this shouldn't be a HLVC issue..? The physics just need updating, so that hitting the bumps with that speed will wreck your suspension to the extent that the car is undriveable, like it would in real life.
Chris did. He was 6 seconds faster than anyone in the SP 3T class and just as fast as the factory team Scirocco's who are actually one class higher than him. Well impressive indeed.. Not to mention the fact that he did that time twice; one on old tyres and the second with new tyres, but a stock turbo instead of the race tuned one.. Should even be a bit more in it!
Attached a shot I took with my crappy camera at nightfall. Marc Gassner should have some much better ones!
Nice result Nick, already read it on autosport.nl! Shame of loss of time in the pits, but somehow those qualifying times tell me this is going to be an interesting season for you Good luck in Monaco!
Thinking of going to Schwalbenschwanz camp site again.. seeing that was the only camp site that wasn't already full by the time we arrived last year, and we had a pretty good spot!
08-04-2010 - One week ago, F1RST Racing turned 5 years old as another extremely successful year has passed; we became the Masters of Endurance GT1 champions for the second time in a row, won our third out of three "Team of the year awards" and finally added the long-awaited first-place-trophy for the 24 hour race to our prize cabinet.
Unlike previous years, this year's birthday has passed very quietly, completely in line with the recent activity level of our team with regards to LFS. We're currently discussing the various options for the future, and the role of LFS in that.
We would like to thank everyone who have supported us over the years and are looking forward to keep seeing you on track in the future!
Cheers from all of us at F1RST Racing.
