Yup... this is where it is going... what's next though? We all are getting more and more restricted by any reason, while at the same time everything is supposed to be "free for all".
I highly understand the decisions, but motives do vary a lot... some of them being far more sinister.
I do not remember if I ever used Imgur in a way or another. I assume this still works with vpn? Unless all vpn's gets restricted too.
It is short, which itself is not a bad thing. Pretty sure this layout could be very optimal with small/slow cars. Perhaps even funky destruction derby with specific vehicles.
All in all, it does it job, and I enjoyed it. It's... just not what I would choose in a first place.
You see, I do like a lot of high speed layouts and tracks... ovals... heck, even the old Westhill was a blast for me and I remember I enjoyed it every ounce of it. ( Yea yea yeaa... I have already gone over of it tho )
It is exactly as I thought tho... not my cup of tea, but I could enjoy one.
One thing is clear though: To make this layout shining better, you definitely must smooth out things here and there. I see you have used layout objects on scenery successfully but the track itself is a bit rough. Chicanes, hairpin... maybe considering to widen it by 1 meter... You have over 1000 objects in a spare. I suggest to make a new version and see what's what.
I have no issues of what I am seeing. It's simply not my cup of tea, although I could enjoy one.
It's... when you go to grocery store and you see all kinds of products and you are like "oh, what's this new thing? Okay, I might give a go next time"... and the next time never occurs.
Right, because I did care to reply, I will now dl these all and give my thoughts of it completely.
EDIT: "all"... I somehow saw wrong and there was more than 1, but they were just links... alright, one*
After several requests and even some more ( which is actually amusing in certain perspective ), I decided to ultimately revive the Flat Out! style of racing.
Of course, high speed racing has been existed since the oval was first time introduced. However, this server is not restricted to ovals only.
Furthermore, the server is still at WIP as testing mods and scaling them to fit in certain classes.
Currently under a mission of measuring mod vehicles, but there is plenty to choose already. Some of them... might even surprise you.
Shortly:
Name - UM21's Flat Out! ( Quick Join link added )
Type - Flat Out style racing
Description - Multicar racing with no to few braking points. Classes are separated to Top Speed in straights and very low corners.
Usually contains races with short races. A good demonstration to experience speeds rarely seen in certain vehicles. Currently in server containing cars with 255-245km/h top speed.
EDIT: Added race replay as for demonstration.
EDIT2: Now server contains classes 265 and 270, which handles the major amount of SuperTourers, as well as some muscle and highway machines.
All good! I was thinking that it would be something like that as it was indeed mentioned in same fashion once I rent a server... I guess I was thinking it a bit too far, although reasonably for having such option on the go.
As I mentioned, I do know the obvious ones as I googled and check all the basic functions and it's development cycle. The question was more about if using with that software, would it had more drastic difference.
But I think I got some more answers now tho.
After all, it was mainly rather a curiosity as we know, technology gets evolved.
If there are administrators on that specific server/lobby, that admin could also have "lock" feature next to it's name on grid. Therefore no one can remove or switch places to it.
So, if someone or something is wanted to set on Starting Position 20, it stays on that specific position no matter what is the rest of grid order.
Furthermore, that would be generally good feature have regardless of any. For example, if wanting to have special condition races and racing and someone is exactly wanted to start in specific position everytime when restarting race.
Furthermore, there could be an insim support for grid ordering for multiclass, where faster class automatically is set on better position ( in case that was not already implemented, I don't know ).
I know I went a bit off topic, but this thread did cause me to see things like mentioned above.
In anycase, thumbs up!
EDIT: Just for clarification, I was not going to oppose the op in any case, it just indeed rise more things to think about it personally.
First of all, I was hoping feedback... and I did get, but not where I expected, thus an update for this layout is received for several reasons:
Changes from V5 to V6
Some concreted corners are a bit more wide and have received curbs. This helps racers to adjust their racing lines when in a heat of a battle.
Some aesthetics were fixed, such as pillars not properly attached realistically.
Some walls have changed and are more easier to notice. Also some of their heights are also lowered in order to see better on upcoming corners ( or situations ).
1 more calc line added in ground for indicating line.
Some speed bumps are reduced. One cone on 4th last corner removed as people found it annoyingly placed and breaks the "rhythm" of driving.
Still need more objects.
EDIT: And as always, Lyt is downloaded on 1st post of this thread.
Well, the event was not really an excellent or perfect as there was indeed some few hiccups for several reasons. I am not going to list the negatives here. ( I am being an absolute blunt )
But it was indeed an unique and heavily encouraging. Therefore a good event. No need to be sad however as there will be next time better for sure.
