I've been here for a while but I feel I may as well introduce myself.
My name is Aled Owen, I'm from Northern England and I enjoy Programming both Games (though I've not made any yet, still learnin') and Websites. I understand PHP, CSS, HTML syntax (though everyone does) and am currently learning Visual Basic 2008. (though I would much rather learn C++)
When I'm older my car of choice will firstly be a Volkswagen Fox and then hopefully a Volkswagen Golf in the future. I want to live in Holland too.
Oh and I'll be getting LFS S1 in a few days, whenever I get hold of 12 quid of my own.
If the car hasn't been started and it's in first shouldn't it stall when it starts (as that's what some cars with roughly the same power as the demo cars do), when I press the ignition on LFS the car starts regardless of what gear it's in. If it was in gear with the clutch disengaged then it should stall.
Yeah that's true, and my Petrol lawnmower dosen't work (it's 36 years old, give it some credit) so I have to use my crappy electric one until it's fixed.
I wish they still made those push-powered ones.
Anyway some Muscle Cars would be good in the game.
I'm not really a fan of American cars in general, but S3 could have 2 or 3 Muscle Cars developed for drag racing. These would be based on such cars as the Dodge Challenger and the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Then after Formula 1 cars a couple of top fuel Dragsters for more ferocious drag racing.
It could bring a new edge to LFS and as it's still classed as "racing" it would be suitable for the game.
If I had my own way I would make it so the server admin could choose what time of day and what season the race is, so the race could be a proper 24 hour race or the race could be during the night. Also the option to have real-world daylight, so it goes dark and light the same time it goes dark and light outside in the real world.
Let's say, for instance, I'm spectating a game and I want to sit in the passenger seat in another drivers car, I could press TAB until I get to the specific drivers car, then press SHIFT-V; This would cycle through all the passenger views for that car, for instance "Front Passenger", "Rear-Left Passenger" and "Rear-Right Passenger". The Passenger could also look around the same as the driver can in the interior of the car, the Passenger would add no weight to the car.
There is a way to view the drivers seat using SHIFT-U, but it's not that realistic and there's a lot of hassle trying to get the camera in the correct position.
