No, I didn't say the thread was pointless (even though it probably is). I said the first post was meaningless. And I posted so that I could say that and point out the irony, obviously. Kinda like what you did. You see, I'm not afraid to express my opinion, and I still manage to be a decent person. No need to flame me.
What kind of facts would you like me to back my opinion with? Just because you don't like what I said doesn't mean it's pointless. I think much of what you're saying is pointless, and you haven't backed it up with any facts at all, yet I'm not jumping on your case and calling you a troll, am I?
Doesn't seem to me like he cares about the forum, or the community that uses it, seeing how he's suggesting it be locked down. If it were to happen, you wouldn't be able to post here, either, you know.
So if someone has an opinion different from yours, then they're a troll in the making? I can see how you would deem this forum full of trolls and flamers.
No, sorry. His point is completely moot. Nobody is forcing him (nor you or anyone else) to post on this forum, or even read it for that matter. If he's not enjoying it, then why is he here? He can leave, and come back when the forum's content is "meaningful" again. I'm guessing that will be right around the time S2 final comes out. Instead he stays and chooses to whine about it, requesting that the whole forum be locked down, without giving any consideration to the fact that there are people who need it and who are enjoying it. This kind of attitude leads to nothing but flames.
I don't mind spam and meaningless posts. They don't ruin my day, or my forum experience. I'm above that. Seeing how there's not much to talk about game-wise, random stuff is fine with me. So no, my response wasn't meaningless. I was actually the one who made a valid point. We should have less people complaining about every little thing, and more people posting interesting stuff.
I try to stay away from reset buttons and such. Unless I'm completely stuck and have no choice. IRL there would be people who'd help you get back on the track if you were stuck. We don't have that option in the game.
I thought the whole point of a simulation was to get as close to reality as possible, so driving in a chase cam view seems like a step in the opposite direction.
Exposure and publicity. Doesn't matter what their opinion may be. As long as it's not highly negative, people will hear the name and go check it out. I bet one short mention on Top Gear would increase the number of LFS players ten-fold.
Looks good to me, as long as it's functional and useful. It's not ugly, it's just unusual and unfamiliar. People will get used to those and won't think they're ugly anymore.
It's only non-linear when the wheel turn degrees are less than those of the LFS car. So it matches up perfectly for every car, when DFP is set to 720 or higher.
You say that as if you have not faith in the quality of the game. Don't be so negative. When something is genuinely good, they're usually pretty fair about it. So what if they make some wisecracks about the game? I doubt they'd trash it completely. Better than no publicity at all. What truly needs to happen, as been said many times before already, is a copy of the Top Gear track in LFS. Maybe then The Stig can take the RAC around the track in the game and in real life and compare.
Blue Flag means you should pull over, park, get out of the car, get on the ground face down with your hands behind your back, and wait until the officer of the law either says it's ok to get up or cuffs you and takes your ass to the station.
So when I'm lapping someone and they don't do exactly THAT, it's obvious that I would get upset.
