All I can say is good luck and I sincerely hope that each and every single one of you finishes the race
Just remember to check your mirrors when attempting to pass. Another thing; make sure you enough space, time and speed when attempting a pass. Other than that read Jeff's excellent topic and I'm sure we'll all do fine
Good luck in the race to all the 30 cars participating, I'm looking forward to 268 laps of green flag running. Just keep your whit about you and I'm sure we'll all do fine
If someone blocks you it's more than likely for a reason unless they are a complete noob . Either you didn't have enough speed or time to pass, or both.
Just a general message to everyone which Deko repeats time and time again.
The race is not won in the first corner. Please leave a sufficient gap to the car ahead so encase of any sudden braking you have enough time to react and avoid it. Good luck guys
Yeah me and Niko were discussing this after the race, I must say I felt terrible about that afterwards. We weren't really sure what happened, we more or less decided it was a racing incident tbh. He lifted off the throttle and I had it like half throttle and went into the wall.
Yeah about passing you, I was waiting for Niko for a second to see if he could quickly recover and pass me again. Which he couldn't, so I passed you. Once again sorry mate. I wasn't really sure what to do.
Also another thing I've noticed, When press the 'i' button on sky on the Qualifying it says something like commentating by Martin Brundle and Jonathan Legard, but on race day it says Commentating by Martin Brunde. No-one else was mentioned Probably just me failing as usual
People are allowed to have second chances you know?
No it's not unreasonable to have a safe race under caution and in green flag conditions.
It's the practice sessions who really cares? Of course they are going to be accidents. Practice sessions are there for a purpose and that purpose is to simulate conditions in different situations and for the NDR to see if there is any hazardous drivers.
What do you want them to do, Give them an instant Drive-Through? What happens after the race if it turns out it wasn't their fault. What do you do then?
Why not just investigate it after the race? What's going to be lost by it. At least them they can be more thoroughly informed of their mistakes and can learn by them hopefully.
Well if it happens 4 times in a row and several times in a race, I'd have a good look at myself to be honest. I doubt that every time you have a crash it's everyone else's fault.
In session 4 if I remember correctly; the incident between us was deemed to be a racing incident. Although I'll be the first to admit it it was both our faults to an extent.
Just a bit of friendly advice for you. Make sure you have enough speed to pass someone and the right timing. If you pass with not enough speed you'll be stuck on the inside for a while. If you make a very late pass with speed you'll screw up the timing of the draft and thus lose time.
Good on you, I agree people should speak up for yourself
As I've said before the aim of the practice sessions is for people to practice racing in all kinds of situations and for the NDR team to evaluate any potential hazardous racers.
What do you expect them to be Oval gods over night? They are entering a race to participate, some of them have never ran the oval before remember!
Are they not allowed to have a chance at running with the rest of the field, do they have to stay behind you to avoid any potential accidents? Let them have a chance for Christ sakes. What's the worst that can happen there's a caution and you have to retire? They can learn from their mistakes ... If they want to.
Your point being? I don't doubt it for a second, there's some bloody fast demo drivers.
It's your choice at the end of the day to participate or not.
I have to agree with you there Jeffy, consistency and patients is the key for spectacular racing
Replays are fantastic to review. You can see if or where your making the mistakes and try to correct them for the next race. You can only learn from your mistakes! Another thing there good for is to see what others are doing relative to you. If others are managing their tyres better, why not see if your doing something different?
Remember you can always visit (FM) Oval Junkies 2 to pick up some techniques for the race.
Ferrari are a strange bunch all talk but no play. They've done it before in the 80s if I remember, they built an indycar and threatened to go over there and leave F1.
I'm not sure if they will leave or not. They'll most likely get their own way . Yeah if they did want to leave don't you think they have enough money to buy out of their contract with the FIA?
