Ive got the logitech z-560, i think. they are only 4.1, but have 400w rms and they sound very good for movies/games/music and the SW is very poweerful. Im running them out of an audigy 2. Im really happy with them and much better quality sound than a lot of other setups i looked at for simialr price. And im sure logitech have improved the quality of their speakers since i bought mine. And if thats all your looking to spend on speakers, i think your soundcard is absolutley fine.

mine is slightly noisier turning left, but my wheel seems to have gotten quite a bit noisier overall since i got it. Anyone else found this?

ra/fz5/lx6 is probably my favourite class, but unfortunately there is very rarely any servers with ppl racing them, and when they are, they seem to get dumped very quickly because too many ppl have trouble driving them. I dont really find them hard to drive, they just have a lot more power compared to something like the xrt, so you just have to be a bit more careful, but they are all very rewarding once you get the hang of em.

have you tried unplugging it, or plugging it in another usb slot? Sometimes mine seems to screw up and wont let me change steering lock and i just re-plug it and it works.

LFS completely freezing

Hi, Only in the last couple of weeks LFS has been completely freezing on me, and its happening on two computers. Both have nvidia cards (7900gt and 6600), but ive tried several different drivers and it still happens. When it happens the rest of the computer is fine and as long as i have task manager open on another monitor i can close LFS, but otherwise i have to restart. Ive tried a fresh install of LFS and no changes. Ive also tried resetting the cpu and vid card clock speeds to see if it was happening from overclocking but still no differnce. All the temps are fine. I've been using U20, could this be it? Strange thats its only started happening lately as i have been using U20 since it was released and nothing else on my system has changed. Is there someway i can get an error report to find the problem? Thanks for any help edit: BTW It seems to happen randomly. Sometimes i can only play for a few mins and it happens, sometimes an hour or more.

i made a simple adaptor out of wood for mine. I just cut out a round piece of wood about 8mm thick and made it just big enough to screw onto a 6-bolt wheel, and then put the appropriate holes in the middle to screw it onto the DFP hub. Took me all of about 10 mins to do and it works perfectly. I can prob post pics if someone wants to try it

Does anyone know if/when drivers emporium will be back up? I went to buy some stuff there a while back and found it was gone I would love an lfs t-shirt tho. I thought maybe plain black with the LFS logo printed on it would look good.

Quote from drift_apprentice :thanx guys. appreciate that! so what setting is recommended? 3 is too small yeah? 4 or 5 maybe? I only have a 512/128 ADSL.

Also I noticed, when I'm serving, a message says "New Guest Timed out" or similar every now and then, does that mean there is someone trying to log onto my server but did not get on? Does that mean he/she has a slow connection/high ping rate so he cant get on? Can I fix that by lowering the PPS setting to 3 or something?

make sure your ports are setup properly. And i dont think 128 up is very good for hosting servers so maybe try setting it with the number of ppl you want to join first, and then set the pps so it doenst overlimit the bandwidth

Quote from richo :Thats one nice wheel but at $299.00 us thats going to be around 650-700 australian pesos...

What makes you think it will cost that much? $300 US converts to about 395 AUD, or doesnt it work like that? Otherwise it would be cheaper to get one shipped over.

when they say improved tyre model, will that mean the tyres will visually bend, because nothing can even come close to lfs without this feature.
Weird DFP prob

Im having a weird prob with my dfp. I've had it for about 2 years and its never screwed up until now. Hopefully someone here knows what the problem is. Basically it won't calibrate itself. After i plug it in, it starts to turn to the right, then almost immediately starts going back to the left, then just as quickly it stops, and the lights keep flashing as though it needs to be calibrated, and will just keep doing this until i unplug it. The wheel spins freely from lock to lock so it isnt something jamming it. I've tried it on several computers and a ps2 and they all result in exactly the same thing. Im thinking that i will have to try and return/replace it but i think the 2yr warranty ran out just a few weeks ago, but perhaps there is a way around this?
Big thanks to anyone that can help

locking up the wheels is useful for me sometimes, probably more in the road cars, when i might need to avoid crashing into someone and the only way is to lock the brakes up to get the car to slide a bit. I know ive done this a few times and its worked at the exspense of tyres. otherwise i avoid locking them up
Open diff and tyre sounds

Hi,
i couldnt find anything about this so hopefully this isnt a repost, and im not 100% sure about this but here goes.
I noticed that while driving a real rwd car with an open diff that when the inside wheel is spinning it makes quite a bit of tyre screeching noise - much more than the outside wheel, and when i recreated this in lfs with the xrt, i can have the inside while spinning to the point where it makes smoke and it is still making hardly any noise at all, if any, whereas the inside wheel is making plenty of noise, but any other time either of the wheels have lost traction they seem to make the right sounds. This seems to happen at any speed as well. So is this a bug or is there another reason for this?

Perhaps it would be better on 5th gear?
And i dont think there should be a problem with LFS not having real cars or tracks. They could just do it like they would any other road test because all the cars in lfs have their own distinct handling characteristics, so they could just treat it like they are test driving new cars.

Quote from GP4Flo :Try to set "Port 80 1" in the cfg.txt. Maybe you are connected through some kind of proxy.

That worked for me, Thanks!
