Quote from NotAnIllusion :Clearly "source code" refers to the malicious application, and the point was that since the method is freely available, the fix should be easy to figure out. Also, API =/= implementation in OS.

Yeah. I re-read it now when I'm home and I must apologize to the OP.
And I never mention "API" :P

Quote from dj_hitas :I don't even understand how hard it could be to fix that. FFS, even souce code of that application is lying on the Internet open for everyone. When you know how stuff works, you know what you can do to prevent it from working.
It's good when the server is in Ubuntu and it is possible to prevent it from working through the OS itself, but for win users.. I don't know. We are working on that at the moment, but developers should think of other people who are not as experienced in such things as we are.
Cheers.

What the hell are you talking about? Where do you see the source code of the LFS server? If the source code for LFS server would have been available we wouldn't be running LFS servers on Linux hosts through wine, because I'm sure someone would port it natively to *nix already.

And bringing down the LFS server in a way described above is not affected by the OS running it. It's a bug in the LFS server, not the OS.
TCP/IP related attacks are a problem with TCP/IP stack, not with a particular OS, because TCP/IP stack is a standard used on all devices connected to the interwebz, no matter the hardware or the OS that it is running(ok, there are some variations), and TCP/IP stack is known for this vulnerability, so we won't even go there. But like said, the above bug is caused by nothing else than the LFS dedicated server it self.

My first attempt at rendering.
P.S: I used the "blender tutorial".
Wish I had the knowledge and time to do it all by my self instead of just using someone elses hard work on the models.

The skin is a somewhat recreation/conversion of MasterCard Lola F1 car to a LFS GTR car. Also made by me.

Plz comment.

Nice driving. Epic understeer after you took that left side hit on the wall.
I just don't get it how is this a FZ5 with slicks. It's more like FZR with ABS.

You select Path tool.
Position the edges on the skin. Then you start clicking on the lines and pulling them so they start to bend.
Once you're happy with the way the curves look, you click on "Path to Selection" button in the toolbar.
Once you have it selected and are on a proper layer, fill the selection, either with bucket fill or Ctrl+,
If you want a 2 tone curve, you have to deselect some areas that you do not want to change, create a new layer(or do it on the same, although, better to create a new one) and fill that new selection with another color. Deselection can be done by pressing down Ctrl key and using one of the selection tools(don't know if it works with path tho). If you want a line(curved or not) that has a white border all around, you first fill white and then can use Selection shrink from the menus to shring the selection by X pixels and once shrunk just fill the new selection with another color.
It's basically just practice and patience.

Quote from bunder9999 :i don't know who those people are, but one of the primary reasons people use linux is so they don't have to pay for software...

Oh you are so wrong. RHEL is not free as in free beer. And people still use it.
I could get my distro for free, but I order every release on CDs/DVD instead of downloading it. So do many others. Is it so hard to accept the fact that many Linux users use it because it is better than anything else out there for us?

I know he's not shown much in the last season, and I must admit, I haven't watched one race, nor will I watch any race from this season.
But I still prefer Schumacher. Granted, there were moments of complete shame when we could see moves like taking out Hill in 94, again in 97 on Jaques etc. But still, after watching epic races like Barcelona 96, Silverstone 98 and many others from when F1 was still F1 and was entertaining to watch(which ended when Mika quit racing), those events alone are enough for me to admire a racer as much as I admire Schumacher.

Yeah, I understand what needs to be fixed in order to get this running. Just thought it might be a good thing when you're looking through the AIRW Best Laps, you can see which servers are(if the time is recent) running your wanted combination and have a connection with AIRW.

Hi,

is it possible to add the server on which the player got the fast lap featured on AIRW Best Laps list?

Quote from Dennis93 :Instead of telling him how useless his 'Manger' obviously is, try to help him to improve instead of just nag nag nag.

idiots.

How can you help with re-inventing the wheel?
Don't have the time to try it, but by the description of it it's nothing more than simple input drivers on your team and maybe add some more data to them, like maybe laptimes on certain tracks etc?
Like said before, this can be done in like 5 minutes in a spreadsheet application like Excel.

You want the skin to be the same as the one you posted. There are two problems.
That ninja from the shirt wont fit on that skin.

/troll off

The skin file you posted says DO NOT EDIT IN ANY WAY.
If you convince me that you are the author of that skin(don't know why would you ask for help then) or if you can provide the authors "ok" to edit this skin I just might try and make something for you, when I'm done with the skin that I'm currently making.

Oh yeah, one more thing. The file name says "XRT", but the skin is obviously for the XRR from an older version(mirrors don't match etc.), so for which car do you want it?

Good point. Or "notepad.exe", as it doesn't seem from the description that a lot of data is manipulated here.

Or maybe even better, after reading the readme file, one could also use a spreadsheet as provided by Excel/OO.o Calc or I think even google docs holds some spreadsheet capability, to help you track your team member data.

Quote from EQ Worry :OK, LOL, not that it matters much, but I updated the item to:

# PROS: Do not send driver/track/car/lap data to AIRW - boolean
# Please set this item to FALSE if you're running a tweaked server
# and use Airio PROS, the only version communicating with AIRW.

Great! The universe is back on track!
Kidding, kidding. It was just a suggestion, didn't know you'd actually listen to me.

As I thought.
Maybe change the comments of such settings to: Enable/disable sending driver/track/car/lap data to AIRW....

Hi,

a question regarding the configuration files, more specifically this section:
Quote :# PROS: Do not send driver/track/car/lap data to AIRW - boolean
# Please set this item to FALSE if you're running a tweaked server.

Does this state that only in PROS version one can turn off sending data to AIRW or will it not even send any data to AIRW, no matter what option you set here in a FREE version?

Regards

Yes, I understand that.
But it seems, GIMP doesn't when converting.
Here is what I get when I convert your .psd to .xcf, without including the help part:

Yeah, I managed to open your kit with GIMP.
But there are some black spots all over the side of the car. You have added a mask layer, but it doesn't mask anything now. I think it's black-full-opacity, I've tried inverting but the lines still don't make sense to me then.
The layer name is "Lines", but instead of lines I get black patches all over the car.

And if I ever make a skin that I will release I'll make sure to include your credits in it for your masterpiece. It really is wonderful. But mostly I just like playing around GIMP when I'm bored and make skins, just for fun, not even I use them.

It doesn't show transmition/wheel speed?
Funny. When I drive the XRR into the sand and rev it up in gear the speed goes up, but car doesn't move. So that does show wheel speed if you ask me.
Don't know what happens if all drive wheels lock up, if the speed drops to zero.

I'm not going on Gentoo. I use Slackware for ages. Gentoo doesn't offer anything special to me that it would be worth for me to change the distro.
I compile everything from code anyway, by hand or by using slackbuilds.

I know what you meant, and I've also tried shutting down the server(LFS ofc, not the whole machine) and leaving it like that for 30 minutes and starting again, with no effect.
